Into the Wild (2007)
Is this a lesson?
The question is very simple. Is this movie a lesson for human kind? Do we need to stop thinking and move back to the stone age simply because we can? The answer is very simple. NO! Now the hole point in rating this movie is the way you look at it. As a drama/thriller or as a documentary/adventure. Because if you look at it as a documentary 5 stars is a huge mark. Do we need to teach our children that this is the way they should thing and approach life? Definitely no. On the other hand if you look at it as a drama, as a mere interpretation of a real story you'll find it likable. Not epic. Not the kind of movie that you will remember but still a good one. The plot is good, it has fluidity, the scenes don't jump back and forward like crazy and the leading actor is doing a great job showing his emotions like it ware for real. I personally locked at it as a documentary and that why my rating is low.
The Avengers (2012)
They make the "effects" better and better
I'll start by saying that when I bought tickets to this show I was a little sceptic. First because I did not imagine how can you build a story involving Hulk and Thor, were is Tony Stark's arrogance and attention going to fit and finally will it all be just a bunch of no sense fights. But as the action went on all my fears were shattered, Tony was still arrogant but funny in the same way, I loved the nagging between Hulk and Thor, Captain America was exactly how it was in his own movie, a true believer, a true American. The story was not that good but I did not see huge plot holes lake I've seen on Battleship for example and the small comedy involved between the fighting scenes made this movie even greater.
Battleship (2012)
Bad is a small word
Up until today 40,716 people rate this movie making the average note 6.2. What? How? I mean did anyone see some type of plot in this movie, some type of fluidity, some type of acting? Don't tell me it has great FX cause those alien ships are not even close to let's say the Transformers franchise. I mean in term of FX this is the Moon and Transformers is the Sun. Transformers 3 hat 195 mil budget and this had 209. What did those people do with the money?
Coming back to the plot you will see huge holes and as the movie advances you'll start thinking that this is a comedy show. Let's not forget that aliens came to Earth with an incredible machine, traveling hundreds, probably thousands of light ears and in the end we beat them with plain all gun powder. It's like the polish fighting German tanks with cavalry in the WWII.
Acting? What is that? Nobody knows cause you don't get that in this movie. How do you become a Lt. Cdr. in such a short time? Even in Mongolia it's not possible and believe me not many people know where that country is.
I'll end saying that it a complete waste of your time seeing this movie but still, if you want to get angry and don't know how it's a good therapy. The worst thing is that the hole concept, you know: scientist searching for a planet in the "Goldilocks zone"( or habitable zone ), finding it, establish some kind of contact, preparing for a visit, preparing for a journey, finally answering the big question, we are not alone, ends up in a complete failure.
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011)
God but not as the original
The only thing that made me go see this movie was to simply compare it with the Swedish version. OK, in term of special effects, camera angles, you know setup, this movie is way better but then if you compare the thriller in this one with the original version I think that this version is way under. I'm not saying, like I've seen here, that you should definitely see this one because of Daniel Craig's acting, or just give you the classic stereotype "oldies but goldies" regarding the Swedish version. I'm just saying that if a movie is born in some culture, Nordic in this case, you should at least let go of the American felling when you rate it. For me even the Swedish accent makes it more mysterious and more thrilling than this one. But both are great and if you've seen it with Daniel Craig you should also try it with Michael Nyqvist.

Heartbracking experience
I admit it took me 3 or 4 times to go watch this movie but I tell you it was worth every penny. I kind of misjudge it because I thought that a drama/thriller about the Japanese invasion over China together with a priest from USA would only show how good are the Americans and how can they save everyday. But it was definitely not like this. Although Bale looks to be the main actor I definitely think that Ni Ni ( Yu Mo ) - this Chinese new actress - on top judging her splendid performance. Regarding the story I think it is flawless and this movie can easily be considered an epic one. The colors of war, the drama of the innocent children, the sacrifice of the "big sisters", the cruelty and the low honor of the Japanese soldiers are so intense that it keeps your heart beating as if you were running for an Olympic medal. There is no honor in war, what the Japanese did to the Chinese, in my opinion, it easily tops Hitler or Stalin's behavior towards Lewis people and Russians. Their goal was not only to conquer and to make the enemy capitulate but also to rape every single women soul regarding age and I think that should be one of the things that separate us from the animals; even some animals are smarter than that. On the other hand Bale is playing a perfect role of an undecided man. I mean he's definitely not the hero figure, he's not the "Bruce Willis" kind of character or even Oscar Schindler ( remember the one who saved Jews from extermination with his factory ). He has to choose between what's better for him or what's better for some strangers and his decision together with Ni Ni's perfect play as an escort lady adds the perfect dose of romanticism in times of desperation and lack of self confidence. I rate this movie 9 out of then and I tell you that even if you are not a drama fan this will let a good mark in your head.
The Notebook (2004)
You wanna know what love is? Check this movie!
My 10 vote it looks like a bug comparing to what this colossal movie is. It is so good, so epic that even if you're in one of the saddest moments in your real life it will make you smile. We have a romanian song called "Even boys sometimes cry" and this is one of the movies that doesn't take care of gender, manhood and everything that makes us men different from women. It will make any guy cry foreshure or at least will make your fellings and perspective of life change. Another good thing of this movie, besides the beautiful love story, is that it places the scene in times were social differences create huge abysses between human race. It did not matter if you're smart, good looking, creative or hard worker, if you came from a poor family, with little education, you had little change of living a love story with the person you'd consider, at least for that moment, THE ONE. For me this is the best love movie and my words express very little. Truly epic.
Trespass (2011)
A house like a "Cage"
Think of a huge mansion with all the latest build in technology, with the ultimate security and then try to hustle it with no plan whatsoever. The question is why would you be such stupid and I think this is were this movie draws a line and separates itself from the rest classical "rob the house movies". It's not an epic movie, it's not a movie it will be imprinted in your brain, honestly except Con Air which Nick Cage movie do we remember? But it think the point here is not to see the big picture, to search for plot holes, to ask yourself how could that be even possible. Actually is to fell the thriller, to see Cage's superb performance, to see how he make's you fell that this is real. I think he manages to transmit his emotions, his pain, his reactions in such a manner that it will make you stay focus all the 90 minutes. The female role, Sarah Miller, interpreted by Nicole Kidman, is a classic unfaithful wife character but in this case instead of actually points out her infidelity it shows the exact opposite. Although her role is not so so complex Nicole manages to pull out a great character putting herself in the perfect place for this beautiful, infidel, clever but actually loving and supporting wife. Foreshore you'll enjoy this!
Faces in the Crowd (2011)
A face you cannot forget
This movie it's like a Jamie Oliver well prepared dish. It has lots of flavors, it's very spicy, the action scenes, dough sometimes repeated obsessively, are mind blowing and keeps you focused and in search for clues all the time. Another good thing is that, in contrary to other serial-killer type movies, you don't realize exactly who is the bad guy, in this case "Tear-Jerked Jack", until in the last part - 10,15 minutes I believe. It also have an original idea using a real condition called Prosopagnosia which actually exists in real life, and builds a great movie using Milla's Jovovich charisma and talent to create a thriller by definition. You can ask yourself how many of us don't suffer from this condition and go to different social gatherings were possibly dangerous people might be. Definitely a good movie!
Colombiana (2011)
Classic cliché movie
Everybody told me that I should watch this movie having Luc Beson's signature because it's mind blowing. The problem with this movie is that it kind of copies all the other "revenge/crime" type movies that you've seen on screen. From the first 5 minutes you will now exactly how this movie will end. After another 10 ( so in the first 15' ) you've actually covered all except obviously the end scene. I've seen a lot of different stories and this one fits perfectly in one of them having no, and I emphasis no, pure originality whatsoever. Is Zoe's Saldana (Cataleya) sex-appeal enough to make you watch it even if you already know how the action will evolve? I think that this is the only question that you should ask yourself before pressing play or paying for a ticket.
Game of Thrones (2011)
No happy ending
I didn't read the books so what I see in the episode this week is completely new to me. The movie is outstanding, the plot it very complex, you get a lot of action/drama scenes. Sometimes it gives you the felling that you're watching a football match where you don't have a favorite team, but as the game goes you get this occurred felling and you get yourself backing a team as if they where your favorites from the beginning. It definitely makes you want more. I was going like this episode after episode until I've reached this 9 cursed number were Lord Eddard Stark dies. How is it that the main character, the iconic figure of this series, the one that absorbed like a sponge the hole action around him dies? You see him on the trailers, on the advertisements, on the press posters, you see him everywhere. Every morning I see his face on a big poster in the bus station. He made the film alive! Why would you kill the man that puts people in front of the TV? I understand that this is from the book and he was suppose to die. OK, I agree with this but the book foreshore did not point out Ned as the movie does. I understand that not all movies should have a happy ending and that normally it should made the acting more trilling and the audience more attracted when some important character dies but the hole team blew it when they put Ned on a pedestal and then hacked him down like a lamb.
