Scream VI (2023)
This is the most suspenseful Scream movie since the franchise started
And I don't think that lightly. Scream is my favorite horror/slasher franchise and still as good as ever. This is the scariest Ghostface has been. Scream 6 has very good sequences and it's very thrilling. Horror fan or not, it's a very enjoyable movie. They took full advantage of of the new york setting, being really creative and definitely the most gory and vicious scream movie.
I will not deny that some moments were somewhat predictable, but there were many more surprising moments. I can't wait to see what else they can do to follow up on Scream 7.
P. S: you should stay until after credits scene.
Scream (2022)
What's not to like? It's a very good sequel.
As a horror movies fan, slashers are my favorite subgenre, and Scream is definitely my favorite franchise. I think it's the most consistent franchise and this new entry doesn't disappoint. It's clever, and funny, gory, violent, and the kills are really gruesome!
It's not perfect, it has some clichés but it's a slasher, so I don't mind those. Besides that's kinda the point the Scream movies.
The opening scene is awesome and very clever! If you're a Scream fan like me, you will definitely enjoy this one as much as the other ones. Definitely worth watching it in theaters!
The New Mutants (2020)
I enjoyed it!
Finally after 3 years I saw it, and I must say I really enjoyed it. The movie starts off quite well, however it definitely falls flat a bit at the end, but it's entertaining and worth watching. It has a decent length and it's well made and it has a good plot.
As for the concept of horror ... MEH ... it's not really horror, it has a little bit of horror but nothing spectacular, and I wouldn't put it under the category of horror. I loved all the characters, especially the character of Magik (Anya Taylor-Joy), it's a shame that we won't see these characters and their stories anymore since it is the closing chapter of the X-Men saga with FOX.
Probably all the delays that occurred with this movie affected it in one way or another, especially because most of the people will expect too much and be disappointed, but give it a chance and enjoy it for what it is. At least it's WAY better than X-men Dark Phoenix.
Grey's Anatomy (2005)
It was a great show, but now it's not...
The first 8 seasons are great, but then it slowly starts to get boring and way too repetitive, and I just don't care about the characters anymore. Literally the only reason I see some new episodes every now and then is to discover new songs, because the soundtrack is the only thing that continues to be awesome.
Malasaña 32 (2020)
Nothing special here...
Well, as horror movies fan, this movie is nothing special or original. At the beginning I got a feeling like it was some kind of a Spanish version of Poltergeist, however everything falls flat as it develops. I felt the story a little bit forced, and there really isn't enough time for you to care about the characters. Initially there is a lot of suspense, and there are some scary scenes where you can almost feel a terrifying atmosphere, but then it becomes way too repetitive and it takes a long time for something to actually happen. Compared to other Spanish horror movies, it's not very good. I would say it is almost a decent popcorn horror flick; I would recommend you to wait until you can watch it at home like on a Friday or Saturday night.
6/10
The Grudge (2019)
Disappointing... I feel pissed.
I don't know what they were thinking. The only thing I liked about this movie is that it is not a remake, but a follow-up of the others, but the rest was disappointing. Literally the things that made these movies scary was the music and the ghost of the Japanese woman, and they eliminated that...
The ghosts of the new family are just boring and not even creepy (especially the little girl...) They put the little girl in so many scenes like the Japanese kid in the other movies but she doesn't even look creepy. The jump scares were really cheap. The story was just plain dull and with no suspense at all... there was no character development whatsoever.
I feel pissed because I really thought it was going to be awesome. At least they should had kept the same formula as the others.
The Babysitter (2017)
It's a horror/comedy , just go with it...
Actually it's more like a gory comedy I guess, and it's highly entertaining. You just have to go with it.
It reminded me of idle hands and drag me to hell.
Personally I think it started off really good, but then it kind of went down hill, but still, if you don't have anything better to see on Netflix, it's a fun choice.
Crawl (2019)
Very entertaining little flick
I don't understand why people insist on wanting to find an explanation for EVERY single detail in a movie, my god, it's a MOVIE.
It's a very cool and entertaining horror flick, I recommend it.
It Chapter Two (2019)
Very solid adaption
Ok so, a lot of people need to understand that IT is a NOVEL, a very complex novel with various themes; it's more than just a horror story about a monster that chases and eats children. It's about the feeling about misfit, friendship, loss of childhood innocence, loss of sexual innocence, childhood trauma that stays with us, IT is a superb story of the journey from childhood, through puberty and into adulthood.
They did a very incredible and solid adaption of the novel between both parts. It does have a lot of strong scenes which represent the true feeling of the book.
If you liked the first part you will probably enjoy this one as well. As a Stephen King and IT fan, I was not disappointed at all.
ps: don't even bother in reading those bad reviews where people trash the movie because it's "not scary", that's like the dumbest argument ever.
Hereditary (2018)
Most disturbing movie I've seen in a while
Incredible movie. The plot is very original, the acting is superb, specially Toni Collette, I loved the cinematography, the music, several scenes are very shocking. It's a rollercoaster of emotions through out the movie. Seriously, this is one of the best horror movies I've seen EVER. Truly terrifying
Highly recommended, specially if you are a horror movie fan.
Annabelle Comes Home (2019)
I just LOVED it !
From the moment I knew that Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson were in it, I knew it was going to be good. I loved the plot, the performances, the suspense and the dark atmosphere. I think it's the best of the three movies. I liked that they didn't make the same mistake as in The Nun, and they stayed true to the Conjuring movies style.
