Devastatingly good. Devastating - because there are only 2 seasons. Leaves you wanting more, and in a state of mourning when you realise that you will not get it.

Needless to be said, this is some very well done work!

Everything from the script, acting, storyline to the wonderful sets and costumes. Not to mention the well-written characters of course! It really transports you back to the Roman era. Whether you are a history buff or not, you will enjoy this one! It is a true gem, take my word for it.

My only wish is that I could forget about ever knowing about it so that I could watch it for the first time all over again.

Before Game of Thrones there was Rome, and in all honesty, I wish they had given this show whatever attention they chose to give the former, comparatively speaking, this one is far superior in every way possible.

The best of the franchise

The first instalment of the series and in my opinion - the only film adaptation that actually succeeded in realizing the world of Panem and bring the characters to life.

This movie stands out compared to the rest because it really set the tone and standard for what it should have been like for its successors, which sadly, the others failed to meet.

Director Gary Ross managed to bring out the human emotions and convey them without needing the characters to actually say anything at times. His creative approach was quite heartfelt and he did a tremendous job with the Reaping scene especially which filled one with anxiety as if one was part of it too.

Moreover, the interaction between the characters were exciting and satisfying to watch and I really wish we could have seen more of that kind of storytelling. This is where the sequels fail devastatingly and end up looking very artificial, especially the main characters.

The Hunger Games lived and died with the work of Mr. Ross and his team in the first movie which in my opinion is the best of them all. It is organic and manages to move one.

I was never content with the rest of the sequels as they failed to create real human connection and resorted to the Hollywoodesque/Major Motion picture action and drama where quality is overlooked.

Subconsciously, I am still waiting for the sequels to happen. The ones we actually deserved.

Very Wattpad

It's alright, good binge material if you're bored. Decent acting in season 1, the second season however fails to deliver. The story lacks depth however and at times is very predictable. The source material feels like it was taken straight out of Wattpad, no idea why there is so much hype out there. I take it the books are better?
