Not romantic when it's all about lies
What do to do when you bump into someone and cause a little accident? Most people answer would be a sincere apology. Ana's solution: Lie to his face, and pretend she didn't do it. To top off that offense, she lies some more about who she is and what she does. Lies on top of lies.
Ana never seem to care how others would feel about all her lies. All she cared about is being found out.
It's hard to enjoy this rom-com when all Ana does is lie, lie, lie. It's so necessary for all the lies. She doesn't care about anyone else except getting what she wants. And she's unapologetic and feels no remorse even after being found out.
Something Borrowed (2011)
With a friend like her ... Who needs enemies?
Five minutes into the movie and you can already see the two distinct kids of a-holes. Darcy is a loud and obnoxious party girl, Claire is a crazy pushy woman any decent guy wants to avoid.
But the bigger a-holes are the ones disguised as nice people, main characters Rachel and Dex. She's the good girl who looks normal and sweet, and he's the quiet good looking guy. They're both standing at the party like they're too good to have fun with those people, including Darcy, who is supposedly her best friend and his fiancee. Rachel and Dex just stood there silently judging Darcy. They looked disgusted by her behavior, and not once did they show they care for her or has any empathy as a friend or lover.
Nice guys Rachel and Dex ends up having an affair behind obnoxious Darcy's back. Dex doesn't have the balls to face his fiancee and tell her the truth, while Rachel is too "nice" to want to hurt her friend. This BS goes on for the rest of the movie, still trying to justify that it's okay for nice people like them to screw over annoying people.
No one in this movie is likable. Darcy is a one dimensional character, Rachel and Dex are selfish. Even though Darcy has a lot of flaws, she doesn't deserve friends like Rachel and Dex, the biggest a-holes of them all.
The Endgame (2022)
A major plot hole big enough to sink the island
Both female antagonist and protagonist were strong. Elena took New York City hostage while Val tried to save everything. First few episodes were interesting as the backstory is revealed alongside the events. Everything was going okay until the last few episodes, and mainly the ending where the huge plot hole appeared. (I know they were setting up for the next season but...)
For a woman who had meticulously planned and schemed and knew everything that's happening down to the minute, Elena was incredibly shortsighted when it came to her own escape. It's unbelievable that she failed so badly on the most important thing: hers and her family's getaway. Did she think the Beloks would just let her get away? She didn't think they would go after her and try to get their gold back? She didn't think to have any backups or a single guard with them? It was really hard to believe considering the amount of details she had for everything else.
Foundation (2021)
Potential Lost
Interesting start with potential to be a good sci-fi story. Unfortunately after the first episode, the following episodes were slow paced and almost boring. The back and forth flashbacks and flash forwards were disrupting. And there were too much about the Brothers who were not even interesting characters. The pace started to pick up again towards the last couple of episodes, but then slowed right back down again. There was not enough story or plotline to cover the number of episodes.
Lost in Space (2018)
Get Your Sci-Fi fix
There's a lack of good sci-fi series currently and this is one of the better ones despite all its flaws.
Season 1
Pros: Judy, Will, Robot
Cons: soundtrack, the adults, especially the parents and Dr. Smith
Most of the adults in Season 1 were aholes. A lot of the decisions and things they do leaves you wondering WHY? The mom is arrogant and the dad is completely useless. How did he pass the tests to get on the ship? Dr. Smith is annoyingly in your face all the time. And just as annoying and distracting is the cinematic music that plays EVERY 5 Minutes, it was totally unnecessary and excessive.
In Season 2, the kids are still doing good, Mr. Robinson becomes a little more useful but Mrs. Robinson becomes a bigger ahole. She regards her kids by their abilities and she's too busy to even bother reading her daughter's book. The excessive cinematic music has toned down some and Dr. Smith is less annoying. The plot is getting good and I'm rooting for their general success. This was the best season.
Season 3 was too dark. Literally a lot of the scenes were in almost complete darkness. Half the time you have no idea what's really going on. All the illogical things that were in seasons 1 and 2, becomes more ridiculous in the last season. But you also see growth in the kids and some of the adults. I would've like to see more of the futuristic world in Alpha Centauri, but unfortunately the show ended before we can discover all those interesting new places where Will and Robot are visiting.
NCIS: Hawai'i (2021)
Skipping through most of the episodes
I've enjoyed NCIS for many years and was looking forward to NCIS Hawaii joining the franchise, with a woman at the helm, and add to that is the beautiful backdrop of Hawaii. But after 5 episodes, I'm ready to quit. The storylines are so boring, most of the characters are flat and the acting is wooden, and you barely get to see Hawaii.
The only parts that's watchable is Captain Milius with Jane, but that's not enough for me to want to continue watching. I first saw Gjokaj (Capt. Milius) in S. H. I. E. L. D. and he's still as charismatic, but I won't shift through the rest of the episode for a glimpse of him.
Firelight (1997)
Beautifully Done
Beautifully acted. For a relatively simple love story, the movie packs quite a lot of emotional charge. I honestly couldn't predict it they would end up together because of the circumstances. The morality of his actions bothered me, but that would be an argument for another time. Overall I was rooting for the couple, they both did the best they could.
All for Love (2016)
Annoying heroine ruins the movie
Wow, this woman is so immature and disrespectful. I get it she bumps into Captain Kelly and misunderstandings and sparks fly. She didn't want to work with him even though he's basically doing her a favor with her research. But come on, she was so rude at the training. She's wasting everyone's time, having all the other trainees standing there while she disrupts the class. It's not cutesy or quirky. She's just plain rude. Can't bring myself to finish this movie when this woman is so annoying and overbearing.
