Hijack (2023)
Utter Tripe
First and foremost, if you want to save 8 hours of your life, read on. Idris Elba is the only 'actor' in this comical piece of 'drama' that can come out of this with any credit. Some of the acting is absolutely pathetic... There is zero drama despite their poor attempts of creating some with escalating music. The Geordie girl who is one of the hijackers, is unbelievably irritating, shouting expletives constantly without any provocation. There are so many instances of terrible writing and even worse acting. The casting for this show is ridiculous with sun standard actors in every scene. Don't waste your time, it's utter Tripe.
The Rig (2023)
Don't bother... Mediocre at most. Awful ending.
This looked great at the start, atmospheric, decent cast (mainly) but is let down massively by a poor script and two of the main characters whose actors struggle massively to play the parts (Rose and Baz)... The Baz character is ridiculous, as is Hutton and Coake (Mark Addy is infuriating as a macho business man). So many non sensical scenarios that make you shake your head every 5 mins at how ridiculous they are. Frustrating because it could have been good, the special effects, CGI and sound production is very good (most of time... Awful I'm the final scenes), but that's where it ends. I love a good Sci-Fi/Mystery unfortunately, this ain't one! Ending is awful.
Hope Street (2020)
Utter utter tripe
I don't even know where to start with this nonsense! It is so bad I thought it was written and directed by school children. The acting is pathetic, you have to see it to believe how bad this is... How any of the people involved in this regard themselves as professionals is beyond me, and that includes the BBC.
Silent Witness: Matters of Life and Death: Part 2 (2021)
What happened Silent Witness
I think I know the answer to that question, when you hire Script writers that have worked on rubbish like Hollyoaks, you're standards are going to drop. I was in absolute shock at how crap this season has been. Awful awful stuff... BBC have seriously dropped their standards when ITV are still producing quality like Endeavour and Vera. So very disappointing.
Blood Red Sky (2021)
Utter tripe
Awful dialog, pathetic over-acting and hijackers that can't speak four words without an expletive. Don't waste your time.
Nobody (2021)
Brutal
I can't even consider much else than 'Brutal'... Utter tosh that makes the Equaliser movies look like masterpieces.
Bloodlands (2021)
Awful... Forced, failed 'drama'
I was soooo looking forward to this and I have to say, it's absolutely awful... The script writing is predictable, corny and forced. The acting is very poor with Charlene McKenna marginally better than the ever poor James Nesbitt. Prolonged Facial exprrssions, drone footage, no drama in any scenes... Don't waste your time. Watch Line of duty, The Bay, Unforgotten or Smother instead.
Greenland (2020)
Utterly Pointless
Yet another example of how poor an actor Gerard Butler is. The only saving grace was the kid, he is a decent wee actor. The writing is shocking, so many pointless slow moving scenes and very few realistic actions taken by a family in a chaotic scenario... Save yourself 2 hours, avoid.
COBRA (2020)
Don't waste your time...
I hate seeing shows like this, a storyline with potential and FAB looking trailers, ruined and let down by poor, lame, inadequate acting (and over-acting in many cases)... In many ways, it reminded me of 'Safe', same corny style of writing, with forced drama that really doesn't carry it off. There are background stories of so many characters and if truth be told, I couldn't care less what happens to them. My advice is, go and watch proper British dramas like Line of Duty, Broadchurch, Marcella, Vera, Shetland, etc... Or over to the Scandi drama genre /US Drama series like 24. This stuff really is substandard in comparison.
War of the Worlds 2: The Next Wave (2008)
I was for the aliens - to kill all those TERRIBLE actors
It baffles me every time I see one of these terrible Sci-Fi murders! Who gives these goons money to make rubbish like this? I love SciFi films, but this effort is an insult to SciFi!
There is no sense of drama, you are left wondering what the hell is going on? and the action scenes (alien scenes) are repeated... Kim Little obviously got her place in this movie because she was in the first one, but she was absolutely terrible...
I can't believe the director actually appeared in such a well groomed TV series as 24... He obviously learned nothing in his time there!!! The acting is wooden, the dialogue corny... in summary, don't waste 90 minutes of your life!
The Core (2003)
An embarrassment to the Sci-Fi Movie industry
As a bit of a Sci-Fi fan, I was really looking forward to seeing this movie. How disappointed was I when I realised (15 minutes in) that this movie was more than a disaster movie, it in itself, was a DISASTER. With terrible dialogue and awful acting combined with a sever lack of drama, this movie is an embarrassment to the Sci-Fi movie industry. What baffles me is that these directors are given millions of dollars to produce a blockbuster and then they churn out rubbish like this! Do they not realise that there is no credible acting being carried out or that the screenplay is terrible? I wasted over 2 hours of my life last night watching this.... how many months of her acting career did Hilary Swank waste?
Dog Soldiers (2002)
Waste of Time... Stay away from this movie
I sat down to watch this movie, looking forward to an intense horror drama, I was dreadfully disappointed. From the off, the movie is riddled with ridiculous swearing for no reason and the actors are useless. I was trying to remember where I heard the name Neil Marshall before, and during the film I recognized the directors 'style'. He also directed that excuse for a movie, 'The Descent' which I shelled out 20 quid on! As with it, the acting was absolutely woeful with useless special effects. The storyline wasn't up to much either. I don't know who gives this guy money to make movies, but they are wasting their time... and ours! You'd find a greater sense of drama in watching an episode of 'Rug rats'. Terrible acting, awful dialect.... Excessive Swearing is used primarily to try and create drama, and fails miserably! Basically, just about as good as all of Marshall's other films..... it's Horrific alright, but for all the wrong reasons! I'd say 'The Times' had a field day with their review for this movie. My honest opinion and advice to any movie lovers is to stay clear of this movie and watch something worthwhile, it really is a waste of time... You'll not even be able to fall asleep through it because the music is loud and in your face!
