Byte (2024)
Good Concept
I watched this last night i like the idea and the concept of this movie but the dialogue and acting was terrible .The only good bits were the actual Werewolfs and the Werewolf kills they looked pretty good but the main characters none of them were likable in my books plus they were all pretty annoying and unbelieveble. But i did like the overall idea and story to me that was pretty original .I think if they had overhauled or reviewed and improved the script plus get better actors or people that could actually act this would have been a really good movie. Coming from the Uncorked film studios i kind of expected a bit more.
Insidious: The Red Door (2023)
Did Not Like This
I'm only familiar with the first three Insidious movies i did'nt even realize that there was a fourth or fifth installment until i saw it on the Crave channel. And its been a while since i watched those movies so i kind of lost track of the plot but maybe i should have rewatched them to catch up. Now i really liked the first three Insidious movies but this latest installment i was asking myself why did i bother and why did the studio execs agree to green light this. All the way thru this movie i was waiting for something major to happen but it did'nt a few jump scares here and there but thats about it. The main characters were all pretty annoying as well .
Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (2024)
Did'nt like it
Ok, I went to see this yesterday. Have to say my wife loved it myself not so much. I liked Afterlife better than this. This latest version of Ghostbusters didn't make much sense to me. One of the things that I noticed in this movie was that the main bad character a demon that freezes the whole of New York only appears towards the ending part of the movie he's hardly in it. The rest of this movie focuses too much on the teen angst angle of things such as a pointless relationship between the daughter and a ghost which to me seemed bordering on the gay aspect of things that didn't fit in with this movie at all too many different subplots and unnecessary characters. Plus there was hardly any humor it wasn't funny not like the original Ghostbusters. Give this one a miss.
Dark Harvest (2023)
Really liked This
I thought this movie was really good i thoroughly enjoyed it. Some folks on this here thread mention that it is not a horror movie. I would say that it is a very good Horror movie one of the best that I've seen in a long while. Some of the killings here were pretty gruesome so it definitely qualifies in the horror department but it also has a great story and there is some depth to the characters, not some obnoxious 20-somethings you can't wait to see get bumped off i was engrossed in the storytelling in this movie it grabbed my attention to the end. All the actors in this movie looked new to me never heard of any of them but they all did a great job with the characters they portrayed The reveal was something I didn't expect either it was really good how the story unfolded a thumbs up.
The Creator (2023)
I loved This
I loved this movie it was amazing to watch you could see a lot of money was spent making this film. I'm a sucker for sci-fi movies especially when there are robots involved. I thought the performances were top notch especially the dynamic between the two main characters Joshua and Alpine. Top marks for the cuteness factor where the Alpine character is concerned The effects were amazing no money was spared the action sequences were brilliant. Some of the sequences remind me of Blade Runner or is that just me? All in all, i enjoyed this film it's definetly an experience when you see it on the big screen.
Leave the World Behind (2023)
Complete Waste Of Time
I heard about this movie from my wife who wanted to watch it so i thought i'd give it a go even though i'm not a big fan of anything Julia Roberts has done in the past .Now there are some good bits in this film especially when a large tanker runs aground on the beach and where a jet airliner crashes those were pretty good scenes but my main beef with this movie is not only the main characters but the overall story and the ending .Some parts of it just didn't make any sense to me .I found the main characters really irritating the family who rented the house to begin with were total morons especially the father but then again i thought both the father figures in this movie were morons .And the ending i mean what was that ? I left this movie feeling quite irritated what a total waste of time.
Carnivore: Werewolf of London (2017)
This Is Really Bad
Let me start by saying that I'm a sucker for Werewolf movies I love them so when I saw the poster for this on the Fubi channel naturally of course I have to check it out I wish I hadn't bothered now this movie is an embarrassment. I gave one star because I liked the concept for the movie but that's it I don't know how the director of this piece of crap can even walk out in public after making this Drek what was he thinking? This movie is almost laughable. Let's start with the script or dialogue my grandmother could have done a better job and she's dead. Also, there wasn't enough showing of the Werewolf and some killings or ripped limbs or something not just that but the Werewolf itself you can see it's a guy in a costume you'd think he was going to a halloween party or something it quite pathetic. At least use CGI to make it look convincing. Plus the two main characters in this are pretty forgettable and annoying you just want the Werewolf to rip them to shreds but after you see the guy in the costume you know he isn't going to be up to much. The Production should have had a bigger budget to make this otherwise they shouldn't have bothered. This is a joke. After I got a glimpse of the Werewolf I switched it over.
Blood Shot (2013)
Did Not Like This
I just watched this movie still not sure what to make of it .Is it some sort of black comedy or what ?? And Brad Douriff in black face ? Both him and Lance Hendrikson must have needed a pay check pretty bad to be involved with this rubbish . I'm suprised no members of the arabaic community complained or were up in arms about this monstrosity of a film . Talk about stereo types . If i was into a movie like this or something like it i'd rather watch hell boy that movie had some depth to it and more meaning ful characters .But this ?? Its more like a TV pilot for a TV show . I lost interest half way thru this give it a miss. Gave it a one for effort.
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993)
What A Gem
I have to admit that when Deep Space 9 first aired I was still stuck on watching The Next Generation. So I didn't give this series as much of the attention that it deserved back then. But now thanks to Netflix iv been able to binge-watch all 6 seasons of this brilliant show. And what a gem of a show it is to. The writing and the stories are top notch as well as the acting. Theres a lot more depth to all the characters. Not just that but the detail the creators have given to all the alien characters featured in this show. How come this show didn't win any awards? They definitely should have made a movie the same way they did with Next Generation it would have been a masterpiece.

Too Many Questions With This
I like sci-fi movies this wasn't all that bad it was well made with good effects my only beef was the actual idea of the movie itself. The lead character played by Adam Driver is on his home planet called Somaris. Now here is where i have my questions he comes from another planet called Somaris yet he looks human and they all speak english so is Somaris a human colony ? And if so the humans are pretty advanced so what century is this ? Plus when the ship that he was piloting crashed did he go thru a time warp or something so that he would land on a prehistoric earth populated by dinosuars ? This movie raised alot of questions for me pertaining to the actual plot and the idea it seems to me that when the suits were in the process of green lighting this movie they were all sat around the desk saying that they'll make a sci-fi epic and throw in some dinosuars for good measure. I only gave 4 stars because the movie was well made and Adam Driver is good in it .
Bone Breaker (2020)
This Was Just So Bad
I just watched this last night and i couldn't believe how really bad this miserable excuse of a movie was. My first question is how does this type of drek get green lit to be made in the first place? The only thing that i liked and gave one star as a rating was the actual idea of this movie psycho slaughters people in the woods ok its not original but this could have been done so much better .Better actors better script better directing .This was supposed to be a horror movie there was nothing scary about any of it .Also it was just too unrealistic the actual killer was a middle aged woman who looked just about as scary as a garden hose she looked like your next door neighbour or someones aunt watching her chase after this big burly dude who had just taken a beating from her and was crawling on the ground for his life was laughable .Personally i found the whole cast annoying i lost a whole hour of my life watching this tripe.
Sinister Minister (2017)
A Big Diapointment
I liked the concept of this movie but it could have been so much more .The lead character the church minister the actor who played him was good enough with the material that he had for the part but its as if the editors cut all the best scenes out of it .Theres no actual horror in this movie just implemented scenes that show the main character was doing his dirty deeds .You don't actually see any physical violence that one would expect in this genre which is supposed to be horror .Its almost cheesy all the way thru the movie i was expecting something really explosive or something that would shock me but it didn't happen i was expecting the minister when he was caught by the authorities to die in some major dynamic scene of some sort but it didn't happen one big anti climax. I liked the title of the movie but the movie just didn't live up to it.
Orphan: First Kill (2022)
I like It
I vaguely remember watching the original so I'll have to go back to it again at some point but I just watched the sequel which I thought was very good don't know what all the negative reviews are all about they haven't been watching the same movie by the looks of it. I did enjoy this film I thought it was very good well acted my only beef about this film was that the lead actress playing the psychopathic orphan role looked too old for the part. I don't know what the filmmakers were thinking at the time did they not think that the actress may have aged a bit since the first film how come they didn't use some sort of CGI or de-aging technology as they do in some movies? In some of the scenes, you can see that when the orphan character is filmed from behind they used a real child you can see that it's 2 different people that are supposed to be playing the same character it's almost comical other than that I did enjoy the film. I thought it was a good story with a good twist in the middle. The ending part was good where the orphan character is seen sitting in a room while some social service-type characters talk about her future. I thought that was a really good homage to the original Alfred Hitchcock Psycho movie where the lead character looks directly into the camera with a smile that slowly turns into a psychopathic stare kudos to the lead actress's skills because that stare was genuinely scary.
Jackass Forever (2022)
What Utter Garbage
I'm not all that familiar with the Jackass Francise so as soon I watched the clip of Jackass Forever on Netflix I just thought I'd check it out just for curiosities sake. I don't know why I even bothered with this because this has to be one of the dumbest pointless stupid movies I've ever had the misfortune of watching. And Paramount a major Hollywood studio authorized certain folks to make this pile of crap? They gave money to these morons to film all these mindless useless pointless and in some cases stunts. This is the sort of thing maybe a 12-year-old might get into and find funny but that's just about it juvenile schoolboy pranks executed by a bunch of grown men that have too much free time on their hands. I can't believe that people would pay money to see this crap.
Star Trek: Nemesis (2002)
Can't Understand Why It Flopped
I watched Star Trek Nemesis quite a few times and still can't figure out as to why it flopped in the movie theatre. It was just as good a movie as the previous Star Trek Movies that featured the Next Generation cast. It was well acted notably the most stand-out performance coming from Tom Hardy as Picard's Clone in my opinion such a good actor but Brent Spiner as Data was also top-notch When Data dies saving Picard I would equate that with Spook's death in The Wrath Of Khan to me they were both very emotional scenes. I have to give this an 8 out of 10 and that's only because of the cheesy scenes at the very beginning and ending of the movie.
Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)
Don't know What All The Hype Was About
After all the hype praise and awards that this movie received I just got curious and decided to watch this movie for myself when the opportunity came up. I can't even remember the last time I was so bored and disappointed after watching this movie. Talk about Overhyped. I should have learned a lesson the last time when I went to see the last movie that received so much attention and didn't live up to the hype the name of that movie was Smile I do get the concept though the bottom line is the root of this movie is just about the dynamics between the mother and her daughter and the emotions surrounding that I watched this movie and all got from it was this huge jumbled mess. It's just a whole mass of different scenes or scenarios jumping from one scene to the next without giving one a chance to invest in any of the characters. There wasn't a whole lot of depth to it either The Parallel universe angle was kind of tacky in my books. I only gave 3 stars for this because the leading actress
Michelle Yeoh does look sexy in all the fight scenes but apart from that, I didn't like this at all.
We Have a Ghost (2023)
Likeable But Predictable
I just watched this movie just out of curiosity after having just watched it advertised on Netflix. It features Anthony Mackie, who plays The Falcon of Avengers, and David Harbour from Stranger Things. It's a likable enough movie if somewhat a tad predictable I kind of figured out how the movie was going to go and how it was going to end. The only difference now is that it involves the social media aspect of things and how people react to the latest youtube sensation. That part of the movie was pretty accurate in my opinion It's like Hollywood adheres to a certain type of formula for these types of stories. The kid discovers a ghost in the house kid befriends the ghost and helps the ghost try and find out how he died plus there are the bad guys, in this case, government types that are after the ghost there's a car chase to catch him so that they can do their experiments on him when the ghost does get caught he is enclosed in this special holding unit. One of the bad guys has a change of heart and releases him. The ghost remembers how he died and gets closure so that he can move onto the afterlife, etc end of story. There were some funny bits in it, especially at the start of the film. Even though it was so predictable I still liked it.
Spawn (1997)
Great Comic Book Movie
I remember seeing this movie when it originally came out in 1997. I have to admit when I went to see it the first time out I found the images to be a bit disturbing for my fragile young mind at the time. I recently just watched it on Netflix so being somewhat older and more mature ,watching it again after all this time I think it's a great movie. If you see it for what it is a character based on a comic book then you'll enjoy i. The effects and makeup were first-rate. Michael Jai White was perfect for this role. Some folks on here were complaining about the performances by the actors well if you're looking for Shakespeare or some advant guard type of artistic expression then you're looking in the wrong place. This movie is based on a comic book character so of course, some of the dialogue is going to be accordingly aimed for that purpose. I liked it too bad the producers didn't make a sequel.
You People (2023)
Hated It
I only decided to watch this movie based on watching Eddie Murphy doing an interview with Jimmy Kimmel on his show. I always liked Eddie Murphy i liked his earlier work 48hrs,Delirious,Trading Places, Beverly Hills Cop etc. So i mainly watched it out of curiousity. After having watched it for the first 20 mins or so i turned it of flipped it over. This is supposed to be an updated version of Guess Whose Coming To Dinner ? First of all i'm real sick and tired of all this hip hop so called culture when black folks are portrayed in movies nowadays .Hip Hop does not define black people .As soon as i heard the N word coming out of one of the characters mouth i was done .And Eddies character was supposed to be a Black Muslim well most Black Muslims i came across never had the N word coming out their mouth but thats a whole other topic . The original had way more class Sidney Poitier, Spencer Tracy,Kathleen Hepburn .Maybe Netflix should have screened the original instead.
Westworld (2016)
Great Show
I'm just in the process of binge-watching season 4 of Westworld. I love this series. It's a very intelligent show. I've watched all the previous seasons. I have to admit I had to watch them twice fully get the plot and the different timelines because you would get lost if you don't pay attention. Love this show the writing is brilliant. It's too bad the show got canceled due to low viewership I heard. Probably because those certain viewers' minds are constantly saturated with reality shows too much so they couldn't possibly fathom a smart sci-fi show such as this. I hope Netflix picks it up so that hopefully there would be a season 5.
Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities (2022)
Really Liked This
I binged watched all the episodes to this series .I must say that Cabinet Of Curiosities is a very well put together high quality show. Great stories and the acting was top notch. The second episode titled The Autopsy i thought was the best one .All the stories had very good pacing so as to develop the characters so that the audience gets to know what they are all about .Very well written .Personally i think that this series will win some awards myself its just so good. The only reason i gave this a 9 and not a 10 was the episode that featured Peter Weller .It was good but i thought that the ending of it was a bit of a let down. I was waiting for the Monster at the end to create some sort of carnage in the city or something so to me that part was a bit of an anti climax .But other than that it was very good.
Togo (2022)
This Was Very Good
I did'nt know that this was the first Movie from Uruguay to be featured on Netflix. But i just watched this recently and i thought that it was a very good very well made film. It has alot of heart and it was believable. The acting was pretty good also especially by the main character . I would'nt say that the actual story or theme was original its sort of like a Crime Drama dynamic ,but the way it was done was very good the lead character has alot of integrity & pride and of course i was rooting for him to beat the bad guys. The feel and general pacing of it kind of reminded me of another film that came out in early 2000 from Brazil called "Children of God" totally different subject matter but generally the same type of dynamic and feel. Yes i quite liked it alot.
Smile (2022)
Nothing Special
Having just watched this movie at a family members insistance ,i have to say that i was rather disappointed after leaving the movie theatre. There was alot of Hoopla about this also .Movie critics were raving about it from what i heard .But after watching this i just found it to be pretty boring and predictable especially towards the end ,i kind of already figured out what was going to happen .All in all i found the movie just to be a series of Jump Scares and they were'nt really all that scary either and i'm a very big horror fan. I even found one of the scenes that was obiviously meant to be scary and have some type of shock value almost laughable. The only good scene thru out the whole movie i thing was at the start of the film with the first suicide .After that it was just downhill from there in my opinion. Next time i shan't believe the hype from certain movie critics.
Lou (2022)
Too unbelievable For Me
Having just watched this movie i have to say that for me it was just too far fetched and unbelievable to digest .The actual concept of the story is good and the acting is very good but the image of an older woman who is practically a senior citizen kicking the crap out of two able bodied trained military dudes just did'nt wash with me even if she was ex CIA there is no way she would take them out maybe if she had a gun or something perhaps but unarmed combat ?? For me it also got quite predictable towards the ending part of the movie almost like a soap opera .But i suppose if you see it for what it is which is just an action flick and not analyze the hell out of it then you'll be mildly entertained.
Farzar (2022)
This Is Funny
What the hell is wrong with this lot and their mindless reviews. I think the show is very funny .It has the same kind of humour as the Simpsons and Futurama because it looks like it was made by the same team of producers and animators. I found it funny as hell and Lance Reddick is in it whose body of work i like .Folks need to lighten up.
