Bigfoot Down Under (2019)
Bigfoot Down Under...
Ever seen something while camping you couldn't explain? Whether you call it a yetti, sasquatch or by its more common name Bigfoot, every culture around the world has its stories of tall creatures lurking in the wood or bush.
An instalment of Nathan Hill's 'Down Under' series, Hill sits down with real people sharing their bigfoot experience throughout different parts of the country.
With most bigfoot stories coming from America, its fantastic to see that us Australians can be invloved in the conversation. This almost feels like being gathered for camp fire stories and keeps up hanging on every word.
Do you have an experience? Maybe you saw exactly what Hill's guest saw. Watch Bigfoot Down Under and complete the box set.
Colourblind (2019)
Sleek and Stylish...
Sometimes you need to look twice
Jaffy Rotunda, a reluctant PI is hired to track down a suspected suicidal girl.
This film in the Nathan Hill catalogue shows a slightly softer side to his story telling. Stepping back from the thrillers to more of a dramatic romance with the hint of suspense. This film features star of V: The Original Series, Jane Badler, putting together two industry legends with cult followings into the one film.
Colourblind is well executed film, sleek and worthy of your time if you enjoy the films of Hitchcock.
Colourblind can be found on Prime Australia and Indie Rights on YouTube.
Model Behaviour (2013)
Everybody Wants to be Famous...
A detective must hunt a serial killer within the Melbourne fashion and modelling industry.
An earlier film on the Nathan Hill catalogue and it offers a completely different feel from the rest. The Michael Mann style cinematography adds an extra layer of realism and helps add to the Australian homeage of the American cop thriller of the 90s like 'COP' and even 'Basic Instinct'. Crime thriller lovers will enjoy the film's story telling and quick paced narrative.
You can always feel that these films are made by someone who has a love and full understanding of the genre, knowing what a fan enjoys, and not what they think a fan will enjoy. Lovers of crime thrillers will find this to be a loving tribute to the genre.
Revenge of the Gweilo (2020)
Make your strike a lucky one...
After his wife is murdered, a ex-cop must face the Asian mafia is seek his revenge.
Paying loving tribute to 70s, 80s and 90s kung-fu movies, even opening the film paying homeage to 'Bruce Lee: His Last Days', 'Revenge of tne Gwelio' is everything fans of the genre could want.
With nods to movies such as 'Kill Bill', 'Showdown in Little Tokyo', the filmography of Van Damme and even to the Capcom classic 'Street Fighter 2', 'Revenge of the Gwelio' is a fun action film made by someone with a true love and knowledge for the genre.
Watch Tritia DeViSha live her best villain life and even see a cameo from legendary Australian actor, Andy McPhee.
Have fun with this and always remember cool guys don't look at explosions...
I, Portrait (2021)
Don't Cross the Line...
The lives of a couple are thrown into chaos with the arrival of an old friend with dishonest intentions.
Inspired by erotic thrillers of the 90s (Like Fatal Attraction and The Hand That Rocks the Cradle) Nathan Hill brings us another engaging film that contains the usual Hill charm that you would find in Lady Terror and Jasper.
Australia needs to produce more genre films, and this is another example that we are capable of it. You wouldn't believe how well received they are not overseas because they are something fun and different from the norm for us.
There is no denying that you'll have fun watching a Nathan Hill movie and it leads you down a rabbit hole you won't regret falling into.
Have fun. Always have fun with a Nathan Hill movie.
Sex Down Under (2019)
Sex Down Under...
Taking a different approach in this instalment of his 'Down Under' series, Nathan Hill dives into a taboo world of sex in Australia.
Hill speaks to those who run fetish rooms, high end brothels and those who believe in protecting women rights to their own bodies. Reminiscent of the TV show 'Sex-Life' from the 1990s, 'Sex Down Under' gives an interesting insight to Australian's attitudes towards sex and how they explore their sexuality without fear of judgement.
'Sex Down Under' is available to watch on Tubi TV in Australia, Amazon Prime other streaming services. The 'Down Under' series is complete without it.
Vampires Down Under (2020)
Vampires Everywhere...even in Australia
There has always been a fascinating with vampires. From Bram Stoker's original masterpiece to The Vampires Diaries, vampires have been one of the most loved supernatural creatures of the night.
In 'Vampires Down Under', an instalment in the 'Down Under' series by Nathan Hill, interviewees sit down and talk about what keeps vampires forever in fashion, what keep us going back to the cinema for more and their impact on pop and modern culture.
This documentary shows a unique Australian perspective on the vampire genre in film and literature from women in the local entertainment industry. Insightful and fun, Vampires Down Under is a must watch for genre fans everywhere.
Aliens Down Under (2019)
The Skies Down Under...
Its wasn't only the children of Westall, Australia in 1966 who had an encounter with an extra-terrestrial event.
In another instalment of his 'Down Under' series, Nathan Hill sits down with real people from around Australia who have seen something strange in our southern skies.
Its refreshing to have Australian stories told on the topic told. Normally is seemed that these things can only happen in America. This are strange things afoot down under.
Seen something yourself and you don't know what it was? Maybe one of his guests saw it too. Watch Aliens Down Under, a must watch for documentary lovers.
Lady Terror (2023)
Another fun NHP gem...
Having known Nathan for a number of years now and having an opportunity to work with him, there has never been a moment where he was anything less than professional. On and off set.
I have come across "creepy" directors before and not once, the whole time knowing him, have I been made to feel uncomfortable.
Everyone who goes into a Nathan Hill project know exactly what to expect. Nothing is hidden. I would actually love the opportunity to work with him again.
Nathan's films are fun throwbacks to 80s/90s action and thriller movies. It's actually a nice change to see movies like that made in Australia. His films are a fun experience and I look forward to his next. It will be another film of his on my shelf.
Well done to Nathan and the cast and crew of Lady Terror. Sweeping legs since '84. Xo.
Jasper (2011)
Its always a good time...
Gloves are off.
Private detective, Jasper Clay, takes on one last case before retirement.
For those who haven't had much or any experience with a Nathan Hill movie, you need to understand one thing from the very start - you're not meant to take them seriously.
Jasper is a great mix of action, comedy and romance, that pay homeage to America films of the 80s and 90s playing late night on Channel Nine. Its actually refreshing to see Australia producing something different than an unfunny comedy or drama that no one ends up talking about.
You know what you are getting when you watch a Nathan Hill movie, they may not be for everyone but they never pretend something they're not.
You will always have fun with a Nathan Hill movie.
