Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003)
ARRRRRRRRRRR! Fantastic!
Well, I came into the theatre expecting a good film, and what I got was.... a great film. I was stunned with how good it was, it was even better than I was expecting. Johnny Depp is HILARIOUS as Jack Sparrow. I highly recommend it to anyone!
Finding Nemo (2003)
Fabulous!
I saw Finding Nemo, expecting a mediocre "cute" film. But it was anything but that. It was remarkable. The beginning scenes made me cry. There were some really funny scenes too, like when Dori spoke Whale. But anyways, go see it, it is SO worth it.
Edward Scissorhands (1990)
Depressing and beautiful
I loved this film. How could anyone NOT love it? I cried and cried and cried. I still cry just thinking about it, and I've only seen it once. I'm a big fan of Johnny Depp and Tim Burton, and I've seen a lot of their films. Go see this movie. If you don't like it, you need a shoe thrown at your face.
Igby Goes Down (2002)
Excellent!
Some of these empty-headed reviewers don't know the meaning of the word FICTION. All of the actors were great, the script was great, the plot was um... interesting. All of the actors were perfect for their characters, and I would not have chosen any other actor for the parts in the movie. Kieran Culkin is one of my favorite actors and I have been dying to see this movie. It was worth the wait! I bought it from Blockbuster, and I was shocked that they actually had it, because this movie is not extremely well known. But I really reccomend this movie to ANYONE. I also sensed a bit of Girl, Interruptedness from the movie, kind of like the male version, only without the mental institution(Kind of). Kieran Culkin is an excellent actor. My only complaint about him was that sometimes he would mumble and I couldn't understand what he was saying. GREAT MOVIE! But it could have been longer, but I guess it was Burr Steers's idea to leave the audience wondering.
10/10
Eureeka's Castle (1989)
Man, I loved this show!!!
When I was a little girl, me and my cousins would crowd around the television and watch it. It was such a great kid's show. And there were a bunch of inside jokes, too. There was this bat with glasses that would always run into walls and say "I meant to do that." Haha, it was really cute.
Tottoko Hamutaro (2000)
Adorable
I really loved this show, did they cancel it? Yeah, it's a kid's show, so what? Anyways, it's about a bunch of hamsters and the adventures that they have. It's really cute. Anyone who doesn't like this is stupid, how can they not like it?
The Big Comfy Couch (1992)
Man, this was a cute show
I wonder why it was cancelled. Man, when I was a little girl, I loved this show..... Mollie the doll was so cute. I was always asking my mom for a Mollie doll. There were some cute puns in it, too. It was adorable. Even though I'm not 5 years old anymore, I still miss it.
Original Sin (2001)
Beautiful!
This is truly a wonderful film. I am a HUGE fan of Angelina Jolie, she is my idol. There are wonderful actors in it, and I loved the end. There are some scenes that made me cry. There are a few sex and nude scenes, but then again, there is in "Gia," too. Angelina is a goddess. Anyone who didn't like this film is dense.
Joe Dirt (2001)
A hell of a lot better than it looks
Okay, now when I was at a friend's house, she rented this movie and said that I should see it. I thought, "Oh, great." Because I had seen the trailers and previews, and it looked really stupid. But I was genuinely shocked at how good it was. Here's a tip: If you want to see it, don't expect much. If you don't expect much, then you will be surprised. I was.
Girl, Interrupted (1999)
Incredible, *CONTAINS MAJOR SPOILERS*
This is the most fantastic movie I have ever seen, it is my absolute favorite movie of all time. Angelina Jolie is truly the annointed one, and Ryder is incredible.
The movie starts out where Susanna Kaysen(Winona Ryder) tries to commit suicide by chasing a bottle of aspirin with a bottle of vodka. She denies this was a suicide attempt("I had a headache!"). She is sent to Claymoore, where she quickly befriends Lisa Rowe. Lisa is a sociopath.
Anyway, Polly "Torch" Clark has a freak out, because she just realized that she was ugly because she had set fire to herself years before. She throws a fit, and Lisa and Susanna stay up singing to her- but not before drugging the nurse on guard.
They get in serious trouble for this- Lisa is put in another ward, and Susanna pouts. Lisa comes back, and tells Susanna to come back to Florida with her, so that Lisa can become the new Cinderella("f I could have any job in the world I'd be a professional Cinderella.") and so that Susanna can be Snow White.
They crash for the night at Daisy Randone's new apartment. Daisy Randone is a victim of sexual abuse by her own father. While Susanna and Lisa stay at Daisy's apartment, Lisa mocks Daisy by saying hurtful(Yet very truthful) things("They didn't release you because you're better, Daisy... they just gave up. You call this a life? Hmm? Taking daddy's money! Buying your dollies and your knick-knacks! And eating his f*cking chicken, fattening up like a prize f*cking heifer... you changed the scenery, but not the f*cking situation, and the warden makes housecalls. And everybody knows, EVERYBODY knows... that he f*cks you. What they don't know... is that you like it. You... like it."). Susanna takes a walk the next morning, and comes back to Daisy's house only to find that she killed herself.
She calls the ambulance, and Lisa takes off. Susanna takes this time to write in her journal, and she gets better, except when Lisa is caught and brought back to the ward. Susanna tells Lisa that they are about to discharge her. The night before Susanna leaves, Lisa snatches her journal, and reads hurtful comments that Susanna wrote about everyone aloud. Georgina Tuskin, who is a pathological liar, got angry and said to Susanna, "You'd better erase it, Susanna, you'd better erase it! Because my father is head of the C.I.A. and could have you dead in MINUTES!!!!"
Susanna asks Lisa why she is doing this, and Lisa gives her reasons. Susanna tells Lisa that the reason why nobody wished that she was dead was because she's dead already, her heart is cold. What does she expect? She's a sociopath. But anyway, before Susanna leaves, they both make amends, and they are friends again.
All in all, it is the most wonderful movie of all time, and a lot of the scenes made me cry. 10 out of 10
Signs (2002)
This movie terrified me
OMG. In this movie, I laughed, I cried, I screamed. Fabulous... Shyamalan is the next Spielberg! And the acting is incredible. There are funny parts in it, there are sad parts in it, and parts that are absolutely terrifying.... *shiver* I had to sleep with the lights on the night I saw it... I highly recommend it.
Ghosts (1996)
What I thought....
Now I have been a fan of Michael Jackson since I was a baby. I LOVE this video, it's my favorite video in the world! Haha, there are some pretty funny scenes in it too (i.e. "Don't hit your brother!"), and some I was like "WHOA!" Hehee... my sister is six and she LOVES it. We're planning on getting it on video.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001)
My goodness!
Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint are incredibly talented. This movie has the microscopic feeling of a small Mary Poppins, only not as childish and not as musical. No sir, unicorns die, and children hang from their brooms. This is my new favorite movie.
Dangerous Child (2001)
Hmph
I have this movie taped!! Little miss Sugarbaker did an excellent job, and Ryan was amazing. I didn't know he could act so well! It's about a 16 year old boy who turns violent towards his mother. I didn't think Ryan was capable of such a role, but I guess I was wrong!
