Change of Heart (1999)
A combination action, comedy, drama film
Caught this little gem by accident, well worth a watch. Involves an advertizing agency, split of male partners and the departure of a wife. Agency as a partnership had a top client book but in splitting grant bowlers character has run out of money due to the corrupt machinations of his accountant, chris hayward, al be it with bowlers knowledge of the scam in bonds. In order to regain some fiscal stability Hayward says he has some "investors" with money and there would be the oppotunity to skim some cash off the top. A leading heart surgeon is looking to set up a trust to advance the cause of heart transplants. Hayward arranges to set up the trust and meets the "investors" The young girl waiting for a new heart is used with the reluctant agreement of her mother (Roxanne)in a promotion of the trust etc. There is then some great action poinant Humor
And Soon the Darkness (1970)
Classic crime/horror with many twists to keep one guessing
Now dated, but a nice plot, excellent scenery and with enough twists to make the selection of many different suspects very easy. A few flaws that would not be tolerated by to-days standards but a " nice " entertaining well made little picture. Representative of the genre and the style of the 70's
Turn the Key Softly (1953)
Clasic B & W british B picture Drama
The full gamut of life in the london of the fifties. Humor and pathos in that delicate british mix that the studios of the day excelled at. The characters are well portrayed particully that played by Kathleen Harrison. A simple tale of three women - released on the same day and time from prison - of vastly different backgrounds, the film basicly revoloves around a dinner engagment proposed and payed for by Yvonne Mitchel. The events prior and post this dinner comprise the body of the film
