Disappointed that it was cancelled
17 February 2024
I enjoyed this series and was anxiously waiting for a second season. It had similar vibes to the X-Files. No other show had come close to that for me.

I don't get why networks start series and don't bother finishing them properly. I know it's purely financial reasons and I feel like it's a total lack of respect for viewers. They used to at least do another season or a few more episodes to bring it to some closure, now they just couldn't care less, they leave us hanging on a cliff or kill the main characters and move on.

I was invested on this show and it went absolutely nowhere, but it was good while it lasted.

Brilliant

A brilliant, thought provoking movie. You won't like it if you just want an action packed thriller easy to digest. What makes it great is the depth of the characters, which needs some slower scenes to develop. Also the underlying story of bureaucracy wars and power struggles, which is not a boring filler but a main component of the story. And lastly, the pretty direct criticism of our modern society. So, if you're not into any that and just looking for a basic action thriller of good-cop-catches-bad-killer, you'll be bored and come back here to write a bad review about it. But if you're looking for a gripping story, good acting and something to let your mind restless for some time, this movie will please you a lot.

It's one of those movies that let's you wonder "but why do I actually agree with the bad guy in all that he said?", which means it is not a black and white brainless narrative but a well carved brain teaser for intelligent people.

Sweet story and stunning visuals
18 January 2024
I was just zapping through tv channels and this was on one. Immediately caught my attention because of the visuals, which I found captivating. In 1 min I was captured by the characters and had to watch it until the end. I really loved the pace, the simplicity of the story, the realness about it. All in all, it felt really sweet and heartwarming.

I am a martial arts practicioner myself and found the training and tournament's scenes very well done. I know macho men will certainly feel some negativity towards this movie, probably expecting loads of violence and blood and mercilessness, but this was full of camaraderie and true sportsmanship and it was delightful to watch for a change (I usually detest fighting movies because of how belic they are and I think do not portray how the martial art community really is).

Also loved that one of the main characters being trans is just a footnote because what really matters is the love between two persons.

For sure I could find flaws if I wanted, but I truly enjoyed it all the way through, enveloped in the sweetness of it all, so I really don't care about the technical details that may have not been so great (I didn't notice them at all).

good and bad but mostly interesting
3 September 2021
Honestly, I thought some acting was bad and some special effects were damn cringy. Also, the script could use a lot of improvement (story is great but not told the right way). Still, I found the plot twist really interesting and some of the visuals and concepts really captivating and original, so my overall experience was really good. But I guess it's not up to the standards of the really hard critics who expect nothing but a perfect movie or of the blockbuster lovers who expect an action packed sci-fi with tentacled aliens running around. This one is for people looking for a more artsy sci-fi movie, rough on the edges but exploring unusual ideas.
