The Life of David Gale (2003)
Surprised Me
While overall I left the theater with gut-wrenching disgust from the thought of it being a life story - the movie itself didn't fail me. I was taken by surprise with the ending, although call me naive, and I felt Winslet's performance was alright. As one who loves Kevin Spacey I would say his part was pretty laughable at times because of the serious tone of the film and how he almost seemed to overplay the part. But all in all it wasn't a waste of my $5 to see it in theaters and I'd say if you are going to see it at all, to see it in theaters because a rental might bring it down. I don't recall being bored ever and would say it was a B+ suspense thriller...if you can get past the part about it being based on a true story (was it?).
The Glass House (2001)
Not Horrific but had me Jumping
This movie wasn't exactly the most horrific and it certainly kept to its PG-13 rating. No real blood or horror, but then again it seemed just right. It had me jumping enough to be tense and the plot/story line wasn't exactly as cheesy as I had expected it to be. I would recommend it at least as a pretty good rental. And I wouldn't say I wasted my money going to the theater for it either.
