Fun, at the very end
5 April 2024
I was excited for this, it looked like an absolute blast from start to finish. So when I saw it, I really enjoyed it! At the very end. Everything else I completely forgot. Meg 2 (should be called Meh 2) delivered at the very end as the film tests your patience with terrible writing, characters we don't care for, and action that while fun, is all shown in the trailers. If you watched the trailers, you saw the entire 3rd act. Granted there's fun moments but instead of making a splash, it took a bite out of me. If your gonna watch a shark movie besides jaws, just watch the shallows or deep blue sea.

Genially the worst thing in the monsterverse
25 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I was up for idea of focusing on the monarch organization. But instead I got a show about a girl with daddy issues who's backstabbed by her friend and cheats on her girlfriend, characters that are the equivalent to thin air, monsters making 30 second cameos, and a story so god damn confusing that it made the show so hard to watch. Constant jumps to story plot points that don't have an impact on the show. Terrible twist, and horrible pacing. This show is legit one of the worst things I've ever watched, idk how people are saying it's good, because it's bad, really bad. I wanted to love it, but I sadly didn't. Sorry. This show is the definition of a literal chore.

Jaws 2 (1978)
7/10
Definitely the best sequel out of the 3
21 May 2022
Now listen, JAWS is my favorite film of all time, from story telling to characters to its horror, it's a perfect film and there's nothing I would change about it, loved it as a kid and love it more now that I'm older. So you might think I agree with everyone that the sequels suck in comparison to the original, while yes but there's one I always thought was not as bad as people say. JAWS 2 I think is a good movie, is it JAWS 1? No of course not but by no means is this a bad film because I enjoy this film. I love the look of the shark with the burnt face, it gives it a more menacing look. Roy Schindler gives another amazing performance with what he's giving, and I don't mind the whole slasher aspect added. But the thing this movie does suffer from is that they show the shark a lot more, which is kinda a big deal because the original film didn't show the shark until nearly the end of the film so they improvised it by using underwater POV's. And yes you can argue that the reason they did that is because the shark did not work on set for the first film and the second film had no issues with their mechanical shark, while that's true it still left an impact on us from not knowing what we see underwater, JAWS 2 could've continue to feed off that fear but instead the shark just appears and we fully see it. Also it's definitely more cheesy then the originals while JAWS 1 felt like a horror thriller, JAWS 2 feels like an action adventure movie which isn't a big problem at all because it's definitely an entertaining watch. So if your a big fan of the original jaws and haven't seen any of the sequels just skip 3 and 4 because those films are something else and just watch this movie.

Listen it's bad but it's entertainingly bad
16 May 2022
Look I agree with the general public (by a little) that this is a pretty bad movie, BUT and this is a HUGE BUT.....i was entertained? Look the first jaws is my all time favorite movie ever since I was a child, jaws 2 is a decent sequel but it's just not the first, JAWS 3 is legit one the worst film's I've ever seen, even as a kid I thought it was terrible, and this one is just so bad it's good. Like yes the story is stupid and the acting is hilariously bad but that's what made this movie for me, the entire time I was just laughing at how ridiculous this film is. Yes it's a bad movie, it's story is truly garbage but again for the millionth time, this is a sharknado situation where the movie is so bad it's entertaining while I watched jaws 3 it bored the hell out of me, it's the first time I watched a movie and was dreading for it to be over. Now if you haven't seen this movie and your looking for a story like In the original jaws, this film will make you lose your mind, BUT if your a sucker for stupid shark movies, this is one of my guilty pleasures.

Piranha (1995 TV Movie)
4/10
Lazy remake of an underrated classic
3 April 2022
Piranha 1978 is a film I think is underrated. Sure it's not jaws or anything but it's a fun 80's flick that started my fear and love for piranhas. This film is just lazy in every way possible because it's literally the exact same movie that actually uses footage from the original 1978 film! Hell there's even a shot where they use their own handmade piranha puppets and while fake it would've made the film more enjoyable, but what was the point of them if your just gonna copy and paste footage from the film. That's the main killer of this movie, the story is nothing new because it's literally the exact same story, when your doing a remake you gotta add something new to the source material but yet it doesn't. Don't waste your time with this one and go watch the original 1978 film, or watch the 2010 remake if you want to lose a brain cell.

Skyscraper (2018)
5/10
Just bland and mediocre
12 March 2022
I had no plans to watch it, but all of a sudden my brain remembered seeing this trailer the day I saw rampage and was like "hey, why not give it a go" I wished I said no.

Skyscraper is a bland, unoriginal, mediocre, mess that offer's nothing new to the genre. It's a perfect example of a Netflix film, a movie you'll have on for background, maybe watch a little bit of it, and never think about it again.

The story is weak, the characters are weak, (Dwayne Johnson and Neve Campbell give a somewhat decent performance, but there characters are just poorly written) There's so many villains that just switch places from side to side not even thinking about what there goal is. The only thing I can appreciate is this film just trying to be a big dumb fun disaster movie, but even then it missed the mark.

What else can I say about this film? It's just so unoriginal, I hate comparing a film like this to films like die hard but it's true, it's just an exact carbon copy of popular action films, only watch it if your an action buff that likes the same things over and over again.

Dune (2021)
6/10
"one of the best films of 2021?"
12 March 2022
So I went to see this movie back when it came out, I was suppose to film for my little independent film project, but it was raining so I had to push schedule. Anyways I heard many people ramble about how amazing this movie was, like it was gonna be the next space odyssey. When I heard those words I knew I had to go see the film. So I saw it and......what? (One of the best films of 2021?) if anything this might make my list for most disappointing.

I felt like this movie tries so hard to cram everything in a 2 and a half hour film, that felt like an eternity.

It's trying so hard to set up everything into a part 1 film that leaves the audience bored out of their minds. When you want to make a ground breaking film you don't need to focus on putting everything into one big film, you just need s good story to have your audience invested in what's going on. Dune doesn't do that, while it opens up with them explaining and setting up this world, it all goes down hill after that. Now what about the characters? There hollow, hollow as hell. These characters literally have nothing to do with the story and feel like there just there.

Now look do I hate this movie? No, but I STRONGLY disagree when people say this is a masterpiece. While the movie offers fantastic visual's, Great sound design and sense of scale, it fails to have a story to make the audience invested, I don't hate it, but I don't love it.

The Batman (2022)
10/10
Best Batman movie ever?
7 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
(spoiler free review) Ok, I'm just gonna cut to the chase I LOVED THIS FILM!

This film gave me everything I wanted out of a Batman movie. It was dark, it was exciting, and it was thrilling!

The action was intense and dramatic, the story was great and makes you wonder what's gonna happen next!

Now let's talk about our main characters we've been waiting to see, Robert Pattinson nailed Batman! This Batman gives you that intense fear like if you walk down an alley way and you see this Batman come out of the shadows, that fear strikes you. That is the best way u can describe this Batman! Zoë Kravitz did a amazing job as cat women and Colin Farrell nailed the penguin, but the icing on the cake is Paul Dano as the riddler, my god this has to be the best adaptation of the riddler! He's creepy, unnerving, and even has some cheese factor added to film but not over the top like Jim carry's adaptation.

Another thing I should say is that this film is perfectly pasted, it's a 3 hour movie but it feels like 2! Yes, thank you! That was my major concern about this movie was the runtime ruining the film, I'm happy to report that's not the case.

Another thing that made me happy was that this wasn't a retelling of the same story with Bruce Wayne's parents getting killed and all that stuff but rather have it being told In an all new style after a certain events happens (you'll see)

I can go on and on about how much I adored this film, so if you haven't already seen the Batman, go see it as soon as possible because this.... THIS is THE BATMAN!

Godzilla (1977)

There's nothing new this thing has to offer except being in color
23 November 2021
While some will argue that it's still the 56 film, it's still the psycho 1998 situation where it's the exact same movie except with some of the worst coloring effect I've ever seen. Don't even try to use the excuses that it was from the 70's because there were colorized versions of films that existed before this. Don't waste your time with this one. And if you just don't like black and white movies, we'll you probably have a bad taste in cinema because 54 is truly one of the best films ever made and if you haven't seen it, go watch it.

The Meg (2018)
8/10
Just a fun film!
13 October 2021
The Meg is a film that's self aware of what it is, it's big, fun and the cgi is incredible! Has the best CGI in any shark movie! But the jaws shark still holds a place in my heart, now the film isn't perfect the Dialogue is...pretty bad and the characters are bland and forgettable but like I said I still have fun when I watch it so those problems grew on me, anyone who's reading this and hasn't seen the Meg I suggest if your gonna watch the film don't go into it expecting jaws, by that I mean don't watch the film characters and plot because you'll hate the film, but if you just want to watch a fun shark movie that's self aware, this is a good pick.
