The Baxters (1979)
Charming and cheesy
This is a nice little drama series with B rated actors but it's a feel good show and an easy watch, no complicated plots etc. It's very very cheesy and cringe at times but it's but has some charm and life's messages within the film. It reminds me of Brothers & Sisters but with a Christian theme.
The episodes are 23 mins long so this makes for very easy watching and the episodes fly by which is a bonus.
II don't know if it's deliberate but Roma tries to have an American accent which isn't successful so eventually as sticks to her Northern Irish accent after a few episode.
All in all an easy watch, feel good, cheesy, exaggerated non accurate plot lines but it passes the time and I enjoyed for the the most part.
Elvis (2022)
Didn't like this adaptation
Sorry Baz but this isn't that great. Why did Tom Hanks have to star? He sounded like an Adam Sandler skit throughout. His character and narration ruined it from the beginning. It seemed like a mockumentary at times.
I did like the originals of the music that Elvis covered throughout his life. The movie made me want to seek out their versions of songs they sung.
The editing of the film was choppy and fast which I didn't enjoy.
The best part of it was the music from that time. Some banger tunes. I was 1 hr 11 mins into the movie and saw there was an hour twenty left! The movie was way too long. Longer than it needed to be. Not for me.
Monsters Inside: The 24 Faces of Billy Milligan (2021)
Don't let bad reviews put you off
I have never heard this story before the documentary. I thought it was fascinating. I like true crime documentaries. The music didn't bother me and I absolutely love the opening theme song which I hope is released soon.
