Step Brothers (2008)
Too Funny!
I've always loved movies will Ferrell has been in and i don't rate his movies good just because he is in it, i rate his movies good because they are just to funny, everyone thought this movie coming out was just going to be Reily and Ferrell throwing out the F word here and there but really its not. Sure they curse every now and then but when it does happened you can not help but to laugh. Everyone in the theater was just cracking up from the opening of the movie to the very end and i was one of those people. Ferrel and Reily make a great comedy team and i hope i see them in future movies together.
10/10 definitely worth seeing!
Grand Theft Auto IV (2008)
Great game!
Let me start off by saying that this game is awesome. This GTA title brings out what we love about the GTA series, the open world gameplay do anything, go anywhere. The game may have had a major make over from its previous titles as far as not being so cartoony looking and going for a more realistic looking form.
The thing i was worried about with GTA 4 is that i thought they were going for a more serious approach with it, with the graphics looking top notch compared to the originals i was wondering if there was going to be that GTA humor in it (pedestrians blurting out funny quote, funny characters, etc) thankfully its still there and it is pretty funny.
The characters in the game are well played out and have some outstanding voice work, your character, Niko Bellic, can have some serious intense moments when fighting with a enemy in a gun fight that will get you pumped up when he shouts out these sentences, only because the voice work he does is to good." I gave this game an 8 out of 10 only because, they left out some things that i loved about GTA (planes, tanks, etc) and sometimes the controls can be unresponsive at times but over all this game is well worth buying for and i think everyone 360/PS3 owner should have one ( not for you young kids!) well if you decide to get it, Enjoy!
Alone in the Dark (2008)
Has great potential
I was just as excited for this game as you guys were hearing all the hype on how the fire will play out sounded like a pretty cool idea, i bought the game about a week it came out only read 2 reviews about it which one said it sucked and the other said it was great so i decided to see for myself...
Heres the thing, the graphics are extremely well played out think of Dark Sector if any of you played it, the fire looks and plays amazing looks very realistic the acting isn't bad but it isn't great, the writer was going for a more new york type tough guy with the main character, so every now and then you might hear him bleep out the F bomb when not needed seems like the character is hiding behind the word a lot but the language also brings realism with huge monster, zombie like creatures running around there's a sense of fear in the characters so the (F) word plays well with it.
Now i gave this game a 7 out of 10 because the controls absolutely suck, your controller has 2 analog sticks but unfortunately only the left one moves your character the right one only makes the camera move up,down, left and right. The fighting system is weird to, you cant fire your gun unless you switch to first person which can get annoying also another thing that has its pros and cons are the enemies you can only kill (the zombie creatures) with fire for me its a cool concept because it brings a sense of panic because knowing i cant kill this enemy without a certain element but to others it might come annoying which is understandable.
i wouldn't suggest buying the game, but if you want to ill say its worth it but i would highly recommend to rent it first! after your done there is no replay value...its just done. Good Job!
The Happening (2008)
not surprised...
Okay first off, i can never listen to reviews sure i like reading them and seeing other peoples opinions and what not but i never listen to them because i like to find out for myself. I should of listened to the reviews on this one though, the people weren't lying "The Happening" is horrible absolutely horrible. I've always liked M. Nights movies (the sixth sense, unbreakable, Signs) were all great, the village was eh alright, but after that movie things got bad but for some reason his movies get me curious so it draws me in to see it which is why i saw this movie, now with his first R rated film im even more curious.
Heres what i thought was wrong with this movie...(i wont spoil anything for anyone) the opening sequence was flat, it just STARTS and the acting done by the people who are not "infected" show no emotion of panic or fear. Then there's Mark Wahlberg, i thought he was going to save this film because he is up there as one of my favorite actors and boy was i wrong, sure he plays a teacher in the movie and isn't some tough bad ass like he is in previous films but man oh man does he play the biggest wimp in the world it gotten to the point where i wanted him to get out of the scene, i was embarrassed for him. pretty much in my eyes the acting was just awful, i gave it a 2 out of 10 because there's one scene that kept my attention.
after the movie was done i started thinking, making he wrote this movie as a joke because it was so bad...i mean how can you make a good movie about mass suicide?
