A Valiant Effort.
3 June 2003
Certainly much thoughtfulness, sincerity and hard work was poured into this little film.

However, many great literary masterpieces cannot be captured on film. `The Little Prince' is one such treasure. Sadly, grown-ups often cannot see the truth. The most important of all truths is the very last one the Little Prince learned at the end of his sojourn: `It is only with the heart one can see clearly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.'

Read the book. See it with your hearts.

Moulin Rouge! (2001)

Lewis Carroll would be enchanted...
20 March 2002
After watching "Moulin Rouge!" for an hour, I was forced to walk away from this emetic as I became quite afraid that someone at the candy counter had slipped some LSD into my Cola. I have never used drugs in my life, but thanks to this abomination, I now have a good idea of what it must be like to experience an horrendous hallucinatory 'trip'.

This so-called picture is an insult to the "Moulin Rouge" in Paris, a slap in the face to the French, and an affront to every filmmaker - past or present - in possession of even minimal intelligence and sensibilities.
