Scandal (2012)
Another excellent Shonda Rhimes story line
Scandal is one of the best shows I've seen. The writing is awesome and keeps the gray matter stimulated wondering what will happen next and who is the culprit of the current conspiracy. The most unique character that would make most people go No Way is Huck. He is scary and has very refined talents along with a troubled history. "Black Ops" do exist but not so talkative about their history. Ms Washington's performance is to notch and she leads a very fine cast of professionals. Strong characters and sophisticated story lines are examples of Shonda Rhimes and the other writers excellent abilities. There are just few network shows that really intrigue adults wanting something more than predictable writing and stories. Scandal is in the top three in my home.
The Veteran (2011)
Good Film, Tony Kebbell was very good.
This film shows the aftermath of a Veteran returning home to England after serving in the middle east. The streets, the gang activity were a nuisance to this honorable young man. He was a man of "special talents" learned through combat. The local gangs, thugs brought about him unleashing his abilities on them. Tony Kebbell's very thorough movements when in a tactical situation were astounding. Having a professional background in Tactical Operations myself, I truly appreciated how he carried out his moves and handling of an AR / M-4 type weapon. Here was a man that wanted peace and tried to help others, only to be pulled back into using these methods learned. Sad but sometimes a reality. Excellent movie overall.
Age of Heroes (2011)
Good War Flick
Not the epic of the 60's but overall good acting and realism. Gear and uniforms were good. Sean Bean and Danny Dyer stand out as fine actors and the supporting cast were very good. I especially liked "Mac" (Mr. Houston) with his ole Sgt. Maj. crust. The German SS officer had the proper demeanor of our perception of the "master race" boldness and cruelty. SS Troops were just as unaffected by their murders of innocents. Accuracy in equipment was very good, as were the uniforms.
Would this be a film that will stand the test of time, no. Sequels could enhance that possibility, if of a better caliber.
I enjoyed it overall.
