The Swamp (2020)
Important for true democracy
This movie beautifully depicts how the system is broken and what we can do to fix it. It portrays and humanizes both major political parties. Well worth your time.
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia: Mac Finds His Pride (2018)
Awesome
The creators of the show reserve their right to present ideas in a different way. This is not a traditional episode of Sunny, but shows can evolve over time. The show knew this episode would be lost on many (like Mac's father), but in the end it is a plea for understanding and the result is stunning and beautiful.
Don't F**k with Cats: Hunting an Internet Killer: Closing the Net (2019)
Why the middle finger at the end?
I really liked this doc until the very end where the viewer is accused of being complicit in violent crimes by watching this doc. Excuse me; I am watching the story you are telling. If you think telling this story will cause more harm than good, then don't tell it.
The Dunes (2019)
Give it a chance
Great performances by Barton Bund and Anne Marie Damman.
Skippers (2018)
Indie comedy with depth
Skippers lures the audience into its absurd premise with comedy, charm, and the hard-hitting theme of accepting the responsibilities of adulthood even if it means compromising the purity of what you're passionate about.
I enjoyed the movie thoroughly and would recommend it to anyone. It gives you something unique. It gives you something rare. It gives you something valuable without hitting you over the head with it.
