The Artist (2011)
Takes some effort.
A good story, but there's a reason sound and colour became popular. You might find it a little laborious to sit through unless you have a love for silent era films.
300 (2006)
A Weird One
Bad writing, B grade acting, humourless, with a little gratuitous soft core porn and some fantasy creatures thrown in. Heavily stylized--definitely not a realistic period drama. Standard adolescent male trope glorifying war, honour and sacrifice.

So Angry and Disappointed
After almost 50 years of movie-going, the Bond films remained the last "must see" franchise for me. Bond managed to endure from childhood as my favourite fictional character, a champion for good who, at his core, embodied masculinity and INVINCIBILITY. I had no problem with the Craig era bringing nuance to the former, but violating the latter is unforgivable. By killing Bond, the producers have broken their pact with the established audience, destroyed decades of mystique-building, and have no acceptable way to walk back or transition from this fatal mistake. What a sad and infuriating end to this movie franchise. RIP Bond.
