Walking Tall (1981)
A fantastic show.
It is very unfortunate this show only ended up with seven episodes as I could watch several large seasons of this action packed goodness. The show is that good ole fashion late 70's early 80's action and a bit of drama. Bo really played his role well with his intensity and drive, he made you really believe he was a headstrong Sheriff. The show had great plots within its episodes and in its short run it still included some great guest/costars that fit there parts very nicely. I find myself coming back to my DVD set and watching these 7 episodes rather often and I am always left wanting more. Its sad to me this show never got more than what it did as I feel it should have been ran for at least a few decent seasons.
The Towering Inferno (1974)
What a cast and a movie!
One main reason alone to watch this movie is Paul Newman and Steve McQueen sharing the same spotlight in a big film such as this. Two phenomenal actors racing against the clock of a "towering inferno" filled with other fantastic casts. The movie ensues plenty of disaster action and drama for a perfect mix and with dazzling performances behind it all. This movie was very well done especially given it was made in the early 1970's. I am a sucker for just about every 1970's disaster movie and this one in particular is in my top 3 and for good reason. I highly recommend anyone that's a fan of disaster pictures definitely watch this one and if you are able on Blu-ray with a surround sound.
In the Custody of Strangers (1982)
Great made for TV film.
This is a solid little made for television film. As a man now that went down some rough roads as a younger man. I found myself in jail on several occasions and shared a somewhat similar story as to what went on with Emilio in this movie. I will say this is an impactful film and is very accurate as to what can happen to a young man in jail as I faced similar circumstances as to what was portrayed in the movie. I am giving this film a solid rating on the basis that it is just a TV movie from 40 years ago and had very strong actors and acting with a very well done impactful plot.
