The Lady of Heaven (2021)
Awful
What an exercise in futility. One of the most exceedingly awful films of this decade! Apathetic plot, average acting, adolescent leap alarms. There was NO saving grace to it. I don't comprehend it by any means so awful. What an exercise in futility.
Mixed Nuts (1994)

It's a chaotic mess. It's a great cast of terrific comedic actors doing slightly weird and quirky things without actually being funny. There are some sad attempts at slapsticks. Everybody in the movie is trying so hard to be quirky that they stumble over each other.

Non of the fictional characters are compelling either. The most compelling part may be the cowboy boots. It's like a superficial take on a superficial world. It's an inch deep and miles wide. It's saying a lot about nothing.
I'll Do Anything (1994)

I get it but it's the anger in him and quite frankly the little girl that makes it hard to laugh at. The little girl has a streak of meanness in her. She's not just the quintessential cute little girl. She's yelling for the first half of the movie. The duo has their cute moments but not any funny moments. Albert Brooks has some funny moments but he doesn't really fit the stereotype of a Hollywood producer. He's a more bumbling character than that. It's hard to see him push anybody around.
Renaissance Man (1994)

Danny DeVito is that man in a role about as far removed as you can get from Louis DePalma in Taxi and Lawrence Garfield in Other People's Money. He's an advertising man who loses a couple of big clients while getting stuck in traffic and gets bounced from his job.
Clifford (1994)
great
You have "Clifford". Rarely have I hated a film this much and the actors involved with it. The film never is funny but is often cruel and unfunny. I have a hard time seeing how this film has an almost average rating, as there is literally nothing about the movie I liked.

Into the role of the leader of the fictitious gang leader and finds the media recognition he's always craved. However he must continue his role in order to maintain the coverage. However as the police gradually put more resources onto finding the leader of this gang, Jimmy finds himself crossing the line of acting the role and being the role.

Meanwhile, Connor is living with his adopted son. Brenda Wyatt is dead. Connor has to defeat Kane and his henchmen. Dr. Johnson finds a piece of MacLeod tartan in the cave which leads her to Connor. She looks like his lover Sarah Barrington who he knew in 18th century France.

I don't mind the first half of the movie. It's interesting to see the story from the other side. I don't like the revelations in the second half of the movie. They are either too convenient or too unlikely. Why can't he just be a creepy child trafficker?

The style is all him and I love it. I love Moses and Simone. I really like the first story. I wouldn't mind if that's the whole movie. The second story is interesting but Wes is essentially taking pot shots at.

I spoke to a few people that found it rather funny, I can't say I was amused, but I certainly was entertained. The absurdity amused me, I pondered if some events would happen if the world did actually face disaster. The rich getting richer in the face of disaster.....
The Old Guard (2020)
great
FURY ROAD and gives another good physical performance. The story of immortality is interesting background for a familiar 'good guys vs. Sinister organisation' tale, it's not very deep but it has plentiful well choreographed action to see it through.

It may be because Crowe starts the movie at eleven. He scowls his way through his crazy character from start to finish without much change. There is no build up in him. On the other hand, Rachel has a slightly off-putting quality and I don't like the son either.
Little Women (2019)

I read through many of the reviews for this 2019 version of "Little Women" and noticed that most reviewers adored the film. Because of this, I assumed I also would love the movie. Sadly, however, I was left feeling ambivalent about it...and I noticed that my wife and oldest daughter felt pretty much the same way.

Rose The Hat (Rebecca Ferguson) hunt down people that "shine" like Danny to feed with their steam and remain immortal. When Dan knows the powerful girl Abra Stone (Kyliegh Curran), he decides to protect her from the predators.

The remake a couple of years ago struck me as foolish before I saw it, but it turned into a highly amusing movie, with some favored performers. It made enough money that now it is a series. If they continue at this level, it will be a pleasant movie for me to see every couple of years.
Dune (2021)

Dune: Part One" there are too many scenes like this and not enough emotion and dialog. In other words, it seems to need a more personal and human tough to make it a truly great film. Now I am not saying it's bad or to avoid it. But the film could have been tightened up a bit and paced better.
