Sugar, Sugar (1998)
Independent thinking.
Totally enjoyed this low-budget offering and am sure we will be seeing much more of the lead actress in this production. Sure, it's different and pretty violent in places, but with a good cast and script this independent film really rocks.
This film tells the story of a troubled runaway and her descent into the London underworld. Gangsters, guns and bikini's follow (trust me) and this all concludes with an action packed finale.
Low budget can be cool and this is a professional and very quirky film that some might not get, but then unlike Sugar, not everyone's cool.
Rent it, buy it, watch it on the box like I did, but try and catch it and support independent thinking film.
Rocky Balboa (2006)
Go Rocky!
I am a huge fan of the Rocky series, and could not wait to see the final chapter. It did not let me down. All credit to Stallone who has again given us an uplifting tale.
All performances are great and the way the final fight has been crafted (a departure from the other Rocky films)is just brilliant and refreshing and made me smile and cheer throughout.
It's great to hear the famous Rocky music and to see him pounding the steps once more and if this really is the end fro this underdog character then it's a magnificent way to go out. The lower budget just gives this film a creative edge and I for one would love to see it up for an Oscar just like the original all those years ago.
