Mannix: The Sound of Darkness (1969)
Peggy is driving
It's completely clear in this episode that Peggy is doing the driving ... Mannix even says so at one point
There are plenty of good things to recommend in this episode.
Mannix: The Silent Cry (1968)
High side for me
I also fall on high side for this episode.
I found it very compelling and creative from start to finish.
Much better than the latter episodes from season 1 and as others have said a good start to Mannix being PI out on his own.
Mission: Impossible: A Ghost Story (1971)
Strong episode
Agree with previous reviewer ... very intriguing episode and compelling twist ending.
When you surprise Phelps and company, you've done something special.
Mission: Impossible: The Hostage (1970)
Beg to differ
Counter to 4-star review, this episode kept me interested throughout and Lesley Ann Warren was fine (she gets criticized way too much for her 1 MI season). Quick thinking by Paris to set his rescue in motion, and there is tension leading up to third firing squad scene. This is a credible episode IMO.
Mannix: Climb a Deadly Mountain (1973)
Above average
Completely on the above average side of this debate because of Greg Morris' performance, different setting and circumstances for Joe and Peggy's emotions for her boss. The plane crash/convict coincidence and to some degree the ending are just window dressing for the interaction in between (Greg's character/Joe). Very fond of this episode.
