Babylon (2022)
What to expect? Exactly like the movie poster!
Hollywood Extravaganza! Perfectly describe old Hollywood industry by showing their workplace, lavish life & insane life, work politics, and glamz - esp never-ending glamz in this movie. This is an epic movie with a high-budget cast!
This movie is about the uprising and the downfall of Hollywood actors including its industry. Focused on the 4 life plots: a) legendary actor (Brad Pitt), b) accidental actress (Margot Robbie), c) aspiring Hollywood executive (Diego Calva), and d) black musician (Jovan Adepo). But there are some additional life plots too.
The greatest things: very insightful, subtly and vividly detail-oriented, and a lot of emotions.
The Director, Damien Chazelle really goes into burst mode. Epic period drama comedy is the genre that he chose for this movie, great!
I really love the movie coz it's really insightful. I get a lot of Hollywood insight from this movie. The movie started with the lavish party culture as a networking event. It's really nuts and went too far, lol. And the movie ended with their washed-up career and many regrets when they weren't at the top.
Hard pill to swallow but the Hollywood industry really made it thru this kind of insane life. I guess as moviegoers, we're pretty glad to enjoy their works without having through their lifestyle.
The details of the visuals, music, script, and actor performance were very great! It started with strong adult visuals which I thought was pretty too much. Advanced with excellent cinematography and music, a lot of color grading, and other technical things. It ended with everything at once!
Lastly, a lot of emotions were switching over and over which depends on the chars. When a char story gets intense then changes to another char.
Maybe, it's mental agility exercises? Lol. This can be the pros or cons of this movie. I'll take the pros because feels like mental exercise and I'll take the cons because it prevents deeper emotions.
However, a thing I don't like about this movie is sometimes too much for everything. But no prob! Meanwhile, I have no issue with movie length or other things. This movie is still excellent!
Overall, watch this movie to get Hollywood insight! But beware of strong visuals that are inappropriate sometimes. In my POV, this movie mixed with La La Land (2016), The Wolf of Wall Street (2013), Mank (2020), and The Fabelmans (2022). Don't miss this movie!
Tidbits: this movie proves that Margot Robbie and Samara Weaving don't look alike, lol.

A Man Called Otto (2022)
Emotionally Sentimental! Mental health movie thru comedy
I thought it would be a lot of comedy but it's more about heart touchin' movie. It's unexpected but this movie is so great. The actors really made it! Ofc, esp Tom Hanks
This movie is about an old man (Tom Hanks) that is lonely & miserable coz his lovely wife passed away. He became very grumpy to anyone and hopeless to live. Then, in a suicidal attempt, new neighbors forced him to become friendly rather than grumpy. A lot of drama, social issues, and comedy were delivered.
The greatest thing is pretty concise and easy to digest when delivering loneliness issues. Every time when situations become socially complex, the movie gives the audience jokes and comedy to reduce the heat. The better thing is the moral value delivered through great actings and sentimental scene that helps us to reflect better.
The next great things are acting, audio, and visuals. These are well-delivered. Even though I don't know the actors except for Tom Hanks, they're great. A lot of tears and expressions are delivered. To make the scene more sentimental, wistful music is ready to help. And ofc visual too.
Lastly, the moral value is well-narrated. Using drama-comedy as a movie genre is a pretty great choice. I didn't expect this movie about moral things, esp mental health issues. Loneliness seems common sense but truthfully it really changes someone into a very different human. Notice our closest person who is lonely and try to reach them. That is the bottom line of this movie.
However, the main con is there's an odd narration that I think would be better if having a better explanation. And that's it, nothing more coz this movie is so great!
Watch it to start a new year with vulnerable vibes! Vulnerability is important too to become more emphatical and better human?! Don't watch it if u are not ready for sentiments, lol.

Avatar: The Way of Water (2022)
Visually Amazing but sadly Too Long
This time, I made an exception by havin an expectation bout this movie. Ofc, its coz this is directed by one of the greatest directors in Hollywood, James Cameron. Luckily, this movie reaches my expectation.
This movie is a sequel to the previous movie with a plot in Pandora Planet, full of alien races named Avatar. After the failure of the human race to take over the planet, some of them seek revenge for a rebellious human officer, Jake Sully who is actually siding with them rather than the human race. Then, this movie is about Jake Sully's famz survival from human revenge.
What I love about this movie are the visuals, audio, and magical world. Ofc, it happens because the previous movie also gives these to the audiences. So, it reaches the audience's expectations including mine. But, the best thing is visual. Feels very magical and mesmerizing. From the beginning, the movie also gives a blueish world all the time. To make it better, it gives us fictional ethnic culture including voices that are kinda like an animal wants to bite, lol. Besides that, the best plot happens when the ending is narrated through 3 different plots which each different struggles. I didn't expect this and might be similar to the Titanic movie coz happened in the water too.
Sadly, this movie is too long. More than 3 hrs? Why? I keep wondering about this movie's duration. I didn't think it deserve that long. Perhaps, 2-2.5 hrs still plausible. I drank coffee before watching but sadly I feel so sleepy when starting around 2 hrs, lol. Besides that, this movie so year-end vibes because bring family issues and their importance of them. Tbh, I get bored with this but no offense, it's purely subjective opinion.
The bottom line, this movie perfectly has amazing visuals! The ending was also great! The best starter pack are coffee, chips or snack or popcorn, Dolby atmos studio, and maybe IMAX? Perfectly fulfilled our year-end vibes, but sometimes is boring, lol. Great movie to watch! This is a James Cameron artwork! He was the director of Titanic in case u don't know him, shame on you if u really don't know HAHA.

The Fabelmans (2022)
Very Inspiring for every aspiring dreamer!
This time, I made an exception by havin an expectation bout this movie. Ofc, its coz because this is directed by the one of greatest directors in Hollywood, Steven Spielberg. Luckily, this movie beyond my expectation.
This movie is about a famz struggle with the coming-of-age theme (adolescence life to adult life). They came from a discriminated socio background because they are Jewish in the US. BUT, they are finally able to manage all the ebbs and flows.
RN, the struggle is a really great emotion to us that because of this pandemic impact never ends. Well, the struggle is perfectly delivered in this movie. This gives sentimental value to the audiences and easy to relate.
Besides, this movie gives us a warm sensation about famz and year-end vibes (Christmas & New Year's Eve). Pretty odd coz Jewish didn't celebrate this but their neighbors did it in this movie.
The story is so inspiring and revealed at a slow pace. It's inspiring coz the main char, young Sam is having an aspiring dream as a movie director inspired by his go-to cinema moments with his parents. It's inevitable truth if our life dream is really constructed since we were a kid.
Another pros, a relatable story coz great for delivering bout high school bullying and teenage kinds of stuff that is also an inevitable truth of our life exp.
Personally, this movie story is very relatable coz I always hv an aspiring dream since I was a kid and I live with a very noisy famz too. Perhaps, it is similar to this movie.
However, this movie's pace is too slow. Sometimes get bored even though it is an amazing moment. It getting worse coz this movie is more than 2 hrs.
The bottom line is a very inspiring movie! Perfectly fulfilled our year-end vibes and a Lil bit nostalgic for our teenage stuff. But, sometimes is boring, lol. Great movie to watch! This is a Steven Spielberg semi-auto-biography!

The Menu (2022)
Great cast but not a great movie! BUT, is still good to watch
Director & the cast are great actors in the Hollywood industry. Sadly, they didn't deliver a great movie.
This movie is about a luxurious dinin exp on a private island where only a private guest that could make a reservation. Various guest backgrounds start from a successful businessman to a washed-up celeb. And the main arc is about the truth if actually they're deliberately chosen as the guest because of ominous facts.
The main pros, this is so a fancy movie and has a nice theme. I am lovin it! Another thing to love is the great cast which is including rising Hollywood actors, Anya Taylor-Joy and Nicholas Hoult. Next thing, a pretty intense movie with a thrilling ambiance for the audience.
Also, it is a perfectly very detail-oriented movie. This perfectly describes the work ethic of a chef's life. Lastly, this movie is so short! Less than 2 hrs, easy to fill out a Lil bit of free time.
Sadly, the rushed plot is the biggest mistake. Firstly, still good plot, an abstract plot which is slowly but surely revealed the puzzle. Then, oddly rushed from a slow-paced & quiet ambiance to a very intense pace & thrilling ambiance. This arc is very hard to enjoy. And ofc, if the movie is fulfilled with an odd story arc it will ruin every pro of the movie, rite?
However, even though this movie isn't so great, but its fulfilled with a great cast. Besides, a perfect explanation of a chef's life. Lastly, the theme is good and this movie is so quick. These could be a reason to watch. This movie is still good to watch and nothin' to lose, rite?!

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022)
It's Different than the old one, but its Amazing!
Since the 1st time release of Black Panther, the Black Panther world has never been disappointing! Full of surprises. I didn't expect anything but this new movie was Amazing!
Sadly, the death of Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther Actor) followed by the death of his char which is happening in this movie. This is dedicated to him. Let him Rest In Peace. Then, the story begins, sorry no spoiler.
Visually, I really love this movie because the Wakanda world is very rich in culture & modern tech. BUT, there is greater visual than Wakanda World! A new world! Sorry, no spoiler. Besides, their people and world give us goosebumps sensations such as we live in an ethnic tribe. Their costume, rituals, and voices are unique which I love it!
More satisfaction comes from their music and new story plot. This is unexpected for normal moviegoers like me (not a Marvel geek). Since the movie started, I keep wondering about what is gonna happen and how it's gonna end in this movie. Lastly, my current fav's rock song is well-delivered in this movie, lol. They launched a new album this year, sorry tidbits.
However, this movie is too long, almost 3 hrs. Looks like Marvel has a new tendency to create long movies since Avengers Trilogy. But, it is no prob, I already dealt with it with took caffeine intake before the cinema!
Long story short, don't miss it! Great superhero movie and everything is amazing! Moral values? Proper and not too much. There are also 2 mid-credit scenes on the beach which implied that the black panther would return.

Black Adam (2022)
Much better than Eternals (2021), but not than the Avengers
Finally Big Super heroes team again! Goodbye to the latest floppy of Marvel's big team, Eternals (2021). Marvel still failed to make a great big superhero team again, after the Avenger's end. Wait, how about Marvel's Guardian of The Galaxy or the new Thor Adventure?
Umm.. that's so a different market compared to the Avengers. So, it seems DC Comics is ready to rock their failure by casting The Rock as Black Adam. To rockin' more, this movie cast a huge cast such as old James Bond, Pierce Brosnan. Demand more rock? There is a rock song from one of the greatest bands, The Rolling Stone.
The movie story is pretty odd because some of them are doesn't make sense.
But, slowly but surely it is revealed to make it make sense, although it is still not plausible. Friendly reminder, this is very typical for superheroes movie, so plz don't compare to sci-fi, mystery, or even Martin Scorsese's movies. Superhero movies focused on moral values, motivation, inspiration, and any emotional things. Not a logical thing, for sure. But still, this movie story could be greater! Best DC Comics movie story still Batman or Watchmen (2009).
Besides, the visuals were pretty disappointing.
It could be greater too!? Personally, my best DC Comic visuals, especially on CGI are the Aquaman or Batman movies. But, this movie still has affordable visuals.
However, this movie is so satisfying!
Suitable paced not boring or too long narration, and vividly feels like a superhero ambiance. Also, these movie jokes are fit, not too much but still funny. We might be already bored with the typical funny guy hero movie such as Thor: Love and Thunder (2022). Rite?
Another satisfaction is the chars.
This movie tells us big superhero team, Justice Society. This must be an intro for new movies of the DC Comic blockbuster arc! This could be proven by the mid-credit scene, don't miss it at the end of this movie!
Besides, personally, I love Dr. Fate's char!
His looks and persona are so fancy & very extravagant! Sadly, he didn't the main char so just appeared occasionally.
Lastly, great moral values are very typical of superheroes movie.
This movie implied, RN, irl, we mustn't see anything through the binary lens, only black and white. But, it is politically proper and not too much or too vivid such as Thor: Love and Thunder (2022).
Recap, better watch it! It seems important to catch up the next DC Comics superheroes, esp. Upcoming Aquaman sequels! Claimed as a part of DC Extended Universes (DCEU). That is why this movie provides a lot of superheroes. Good to fueled our demand for superheroes team ambiance!
7/10.
Zombieland (2009)
Enjoyable zombie movie! Not too gross nor too intense!
Everything seems perfectly fit! Enjoyable! Tbh, a zombie is never my preference coz usually has too much blood & too intense. BUT, this movie hits me differently.
Zombieland is a worldwide situation where almost everyone becomes a zombie. Then, the movie's main plot is to survive zombies whether alone or together.
In the beginning, it's a typical movie intro with running text to display actors, actresses, directors, producers, etc. Rarely love this, but I love this one. Then, I love movie narration too, which is consistent and easy to understand. The chars are also well-developed & well-performed.
Besides, the visuals are also great, not too offensive or too much blood. And, the fresh jokes with a few bit dramatic scenes which are good. Almost everything is funny and appropriate. Lastly, this movie is very short, only <90 minutes (barely 2 hrs). Perfect for killing the time!
The main cons are there are a few odd narrations that definitely not plausible. It is like why they did that rather than other things. BUT, it is no prob, this is a zombie movie, not sci-fi or artsy thing, rite? Besides, everything is just a standard quality but still fits. And the romance story is so odd. Don't expect that from zombie movies.
Overall, this is a good movie! Enjoyable, and everything seems fit! The narration, visuals, jokes, and very short duration are great! Better watch it to kill the time rather than be confused to decide what movie to watch!

Ticket to Paradise (2022)
Great cast, beach vibes, and very typical rom-com
Remarkable George Clooney and Julia Roberts as the main cast. They're delivering their acting performance on a beachy place that Paradise Island looks like, Bali in Indonesia. To create a very typical rom-com, the storyline tells us about distrust issues in relationship.
Divorced parents try to prevent their daughter's marriage to a man that barely they knew him. Both just met in Bali after she graduated from Law School in the U. S.
The biggest pros just as my headline, are their great cast, movie place, and typical rom-com genre. Clooney and Roberts performance as a couple is pretty nostalgic to Ocean's Trilogy (Films) which they're also a troubled couple. To make this movie more persuasive, this movie also brought a rising actor from Netflix's Emily in Paris, Lucas Bravo as a supporting actor. What a great marketing choice.
The jokes are also great such as typical rom-com.
Besides that, this movie is just standard.
This movie cast a Bali actor with mixed blood, French-Indonesian, Maxime Bouttier as the second leading male actor. His acting performance is just so-so which is okay if consider him ain't a Hollywood actor. That might be the reason he was hired. He represents a local people although he is mixed blood, lol.
For closure, it's a good movie if bored and wanted some life distraction. Less than 2 hrs? It's perfect to watch and not spend a lot of time. Watch it or missed it, nothin' special but it is still good.

Amsterdam (2022)
Splendidly Classy and Artsy Movie with a Huge Cast!
As my go-to cinema ritual, I don't watch movie trailers or spoilers at all. My only expectations are based on the poster of this movie. Then, I know this must be something different. And I am rite! From the beginning to the ending, this movie satisfyingly seems very classy & artsy with everything on it. Greater satisfaction comes when the other huge cast slowly but surely appears.
The main plot is a trio of veterans of World War I as the poster displayed, they met and become friends from the war until post-war but then they were forced to live separately. Long story short, destiny gave them an opportunity to meet again when everything collided.
Classy and artistic are well-delivered throughout the entire movie with songs, stylish outfits, detailed-oriented movie set, and the script. Ofc, this happens coz this is a vintage movie ambiance. The jokes are also classy one coz tend to be cynical, lol. Besides, huge actors are worth to paid coz they really delivered incredible acting performances.
A huge cast from the leading male role such as Christian Bale to the unimportant role such as Taylor Swift is presented in this movie. Maybe she was cast to remind us about her upcoming album this month, lol. Overall, almost every cast famously known in the Hollywood industry is present in this movie. This is one of the biggest satisfactions! This must be an expensive budget movie!
Sadly things, there is a couple of parts that are boring. Also, the jokes sometimes failed to kill the time. Both didn't really vividly can be felt, but it doesn't matter coz thanks to the great artistic and cast performance. Besides, perhaps, some great actors aren't well-directed or performed coz they seem meaningless. It's normal but it seems sad coz they are big budget cast!
Overall, this movie really great! Don't miss it! It really gave something different which is a classy and artsy movie for this year. Rare gem. Vintage.

Jurassic World Dominion (2022)
Nostalgia time!
A long back then, who never felt the dinosaur hype? This movie clearly to lit our nostalgic memories about that hype! All the cast from the old movies to the latest movies are perfectly aligned in this movie. Also, rumors said this is the last movie for Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard to be cast.
There are 2 main plots: a) the special kid of brilliant dinosaurs scientist, Maisie Lockwood accidentally hunted down coz she have special DNA; and b) Biosyn company that secretly develops illegal research about dinosaurs, their crop product, and gonna create unintentional global disaster. Ofc, both plots brought us to all the old cast and the new cast.
Nostalgia seems vividly can be felt. The screenplay looks like purposively creates nostalgia, especially the scene and the moment. The great cast also supports the greatness of this movie blockbuster. They are well-performed to give specific char personality.
However, the main cons are the ordinary storyline. Nothin great or amusing enough. Thrillin sensation or emotional moment? Nah-uh! Besides, every char seems just standard quality or nothing prominent enough. Maybe because they're trying to be fair to give equal screen time for a lot of great actors. Nevertheless, the visuals and music are just fine.
In conclusion, it's a good movie to lit our nostalgia for dinosaur phenomenon. It makes us more soothed as if we've passed a long-life journey coz we barely realized how long have been passed since the 1st movie of these came to us. Watch it or missed it, nothin' special but it is still good.

One Piece Film: Red (2022)
Reveals a lot about Shanks Crew and didn't feel like a non-canon story!
Typically, I tend to watch movies without any expectations but exclude this one. Perfectly as I expected from the movie title, One Piece: RED. I thought it's gonna be some unimportant story such as typical non-canon movies but this is different.
It's about the unexplained story of Shanks (Red-haired) and his crew. Ofc, they're related to Straw Hat Pirates and World Government. Long story short, all of them collide in the main arc.
Many tidbits about Shanks and his crew, especially their power. That is the most satisfying about this movie. Logically speaking, the movie narration is great! Why? Many huge chars & strongest participated in the story. Even, the plot timeline is really the latest update of the main arc, the canon story.
That's it, I'm not gonna give any spoilers, sorry.
Besides, the movie plot & duration seems suitable. Easy to understand and not too long nor too fast. The visuals and jokes seem satisfying as typical of One Piece but that fans demand, rite?
Unsubtitled Japanese lyric is the biggest cons.
I mean, it is much better if the movie is subtitled with the original lyrics, not the translation. We could sing along and get more sentimental, aren't we?
Ofc, we need translation, but it could be more perfect if added with the original lyrics, not the translation. I am a Japanese foreigner, hard to sing along to the songs, and even barely remembered the tone. The worst thing is there are so many songs.
Wrapping time, it's really great! Personally, One Piece fans mustn't miss it! This movie is splendidly satisfying! Reveals important tidbits although it's a non-canon story. It's much better than the latest anime movie I watch, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero (2022).
REMEMBER, this movie celebrates the 1000th Eps of One Piece!
How dare you miss the movie of the best-selling manga in history?! (Swear not to be dramatic, One Piece beat Naruto, Doraemon, Detective Conan, and even Dragon Ball!) ROTFL.
Hansan: Yongui chulhyeon (2022)
Easier to understand if already knew the story of the Japanese Samurai Warriors
I thought it was pretty hard to understand this movie without any knowledge of Japanese History. Thanks to my past exp., I'm already into it since I was a kid, I've played Samurai Warriors Games and caught up with the story.
This movie really focused on the historical moment of the Admiral of the Joseon Dynasty, Yi Sun-Sin. Even outnumbered (56 vs 100 ships), He and two commanders fought the Japanese Navy, the three Generals. Joseon Navy won without any ships wrecked while 100 Japanese ships were wrecked.
The best thing about this movie is its really strong Japanese Samurai ambiance. Any Japanese cultural thing seems perfect from war armor to a movie set. Besides, the movie plot is great! The strong leadership & analytical thinking of Admiral Yi Sun-Sin is well delivered throughout its entirety. His strong chars easily to be sensed by audiences. Supporting actors are great too, such as Kim Sung-kyu as a rebellious Japanese samurai, named Junsa.
Personally, the huge cons are this movie worse than the sequel, The Admiral: Roaring Currents (2014). Why? The sequel is much easier to understand, more focused plot, and Yi Sun-Sin seemed stronger chars & struggled. Compared to this, this movie is just standard quality, maybe coz the Admiral Yi Sun-Sin cast was different. But, this movie is still worth watching!
Nevertheless, this movie is motivating us with period war spirits to keep us remembering veteran services and our history in order to gain country freedom as today. Great to cope with our burnt-out, so watch it!
Where the Crawdads Sing (2022)
Emotionally Unexpected & Very Sentimental!
This movie is based on a novel (such as the movie title) that I didn't read. I just want to see this movie in the cinema without watching any trailer/spoiler to prevent any expectations. AND my impressions, this is a very satisfying movie!
The main plot is about a girl who lives alone in the marsh after family issues. Slowly, everyone left her. She became an urban myth coz her isolated house. The rest of the plot explains her struggle to live as a loner in her marsh in the isolated place, where the crawdads sing such as the movie title.
The best emotion is perfectly sentimental! The whole narrations are well-developed & delivered to the audience to give heart-touchin' emotions. Personally, I can relate to the story of isolation, struggles, famz issues, and as a loner. Besides, acting performance & movie set add more sentimental value. The actors & actresses are also greatly performed. Their chemistry is really great! Movie duration is suitable, not too long nor too short. Overall, this movie really gives the audience strong emotions, especially with an unexpected plot, sorry no spoilers HAHA.
Personally, this movie's main cons are music. I thought if "Carolina" by Taylor Swift was placed not at the end of the movie, it could make a greater difference. Another con is I felt there was something that missin' or could be added to make this movie perfect. But I don't really know what that is.
However, I'll confidently say, this is the most sentimental movie for 2022. It really gives the audience strong emotions and sentiments. It's no wonder why the novel of this movie is a phenomenon! Mustn't miss it with your lovers!
Doragon Bôru Sûpâ Sûpâ Hîrô (2022)
Nostalgic, Easy to Catch Up, and Ready to Energize Us!
This movie focused on the Earth scenario with Son Gohan Famz, Picollo, etc. Even though, there is a glimpse of Son Goku & Vegeta in a very far place from Earth.
I really love this movie because it's so nostalgic as one of the most iconic anime in the world.
The main plot is Son Gohan's famz and Picollo got an unexpected enemy in a very peaceful earth situation while Son Gohan has already almost lost his strength due to his mundane as a scientist. Son Goku & Vegeta can't help them coz out of communication. This flawlessly makes sense coz both of them could easily beat the enemy, LOL.
The main pros are a well-narrated story and easy to understand. Gladfully, the quick intro really helps us to catch up with the story of Dragon Ball Z. Personally, I barely remembered the whole story but big thanks to these, LOL.
Next pros, this movie is really nostalgic with all of the chars and Japanese Anime ambiance. Japanese jokes & cultures, social construction & morals, stupidity & innocence are always part of the Anime Ambiance. This is hard to be missed by anime lovers.
Lastly, I'd say it's a reasonable movie. Not too long, not too many jokes, not too hard to understand, and everything seems perfect. Especially, the story is reasonable, coz the main enemy makes Son Gohan and his friends struggle due to lack of training.
Besides that, everything is just standard. Moral value, visual, and music is nothing special except my main motivation to lit my nostalgic memories.
Nevertheless, this movie is fun, so nostalgic, and easy to catch up! As typical of anime ambiance, this is ready to energize us with all of the hard work and motivational things. Perfect to cope with our burnt-out, so don't miss it!
Look Both Ways (2022)
Emotional, sentimental, and related for the early 20s!
This movie is about pregnancy, marriage, and career issues in early adulthood.
It's really good to describe "anxiety, fear & distrust" issues to become parents and a married couple after college. They were a best friend with very different life: a) the girl is a strong academic planner and ambitious animator wanna-be, meanwhile b) the boy is not an academic planner but an ambitious drummer.
The narration is well-made by creating two separate stories throughout the entire movie. The first story is about a condition if they were a parent but not a married couple because of an unexpected pregnancy. The second story is a condition if they weren't a parent, not a married couple, and no one gets pregnant. The best thing is both of the stories are narrated at the same time to keep us looking both ways.
Easy to understand and related stories for the early adults (age 20s) are the main pros. Two separate narrations that run at the same time is another pro. The moral lesson is well-delivered through emotional and sentimental moments.
Besides that, everything is just standard. The acting performance, music, visuals, and set are just typical. Personally, nothing special except my main motivation to see Lili Reinhart (Riverdale actress) and a lil bit of motivation to see Danny Ramirez (Top Gun: Maverick actor) as the main cast.
Nevertheless, this movie is fun to watch, sentimental, and has a lot of moral lessons but don't expect too much. It's suitable for everyone in the early adults, age 20s. But, it can also be suitable for anyone who wants to feel nostalgia about the drama of age 20s. As always, I didn't expect anything before watching. Enjoy this movie on Netflix and nothing to lose. Fresh from the oven! Just released on the 17th of August 2022!
Bullet Train (2022)
Absurd action movie again? After Thor: Love and Thunder?
This movie is very absurd and somehow harder than Thor: Love and Thunder (2022) to understand the jokes. The director looks like wants to create a similar movie ambiance and absurd action. He may be successfully created Deadpool 2 (2018) but this movie quality is just so so than that. Jokes could be considered as pros but also cons.
The movie pros are a lot of huge casts even for cameo roles. Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum look like paying their debt to Brad Pitt for his cameo role in their movie, The Lost City (2022). The movie set, costumes, and music are great.
Besides that, the movie's biggest pro is an abstract plot that is well-narrated.
Firstly, the abstract scenario is when a bunch of chars is contracted to do their own job via bullet train, a very fast train which is "bullet" as a metaphor for the train speed. Then, slowly but surely every char. Are collided in the same scenario and is forced to stay on the bullet train. The great narration is the audience is easily distracted to guess how can be all chars are related to the same scenario. A bunch of jokes are provided.
But the funny things just happen for some time. Sometimes, too many jokes and it is inappropriate which distracts emotional or intense moments. This becomes movie cons. Absurd jokes maybe could be the perfect thing for our world because there are so many bizarre and chaotic moments, but plz not too much. Even though, there were very absurd jokes which is a vivid ad for a brand that is also an unimportant story.
In my POV, movie jokes maybe a lil bit similar to Deadpool 2 (2018), Thor: Love and Thunder (2022), and The Gentlemen (2019). Gentlemen's comedy and action quality are a lil bit similar to The Gentlemen (2019) which is tend to become an elegant and sophisticated fashion.
Nevertheless, this movie is fun to watch but don't expect too much. The great cast, absurd jokes, and action are refreshing. Maybe we need that to entertain and escape our minds for a lil bit from reality. As always, I didn't expect anything before watching in the cinema. Enjoy this movie or just pass it.
Elvis (2022)
Elvis Presley Ressurection?!
This movie is really well-made by resurrecting our G. O. A. T. and a.k.a. The King of Rock n Roll, Elvis Presley. A glimpse of Elvis Presley's life is narrated from his childhood until his death. As a US foreigner, I didn't know a lot about him except in movies and people's reference. Thanks to this movie, at least I know about him better.
This movie really highlights Elvis's struggle at every moment of his life. Thanks to this movie production team, especially the director. Director's choice seems perfectly made to decide Austin Butler as Elvis Presley. His physical look and voice are seeming uncanny! I can't imagine if actually, Harry Styles was cast to play him. Maybe I could Imagine this singing scene "AS IT WAS ting ting ting ting, ting ting, ting ting ting ting..." lol *no offense. Besides that, I'm feeling so energized and nostalgic throughout this movie. It's felt so real and the vibes are so emotional. The only cons for this movie seem too long - almost 3 hr and I hope there's a more singing scene for a complete song.
Overall, I justify the greatness of Elvis Presley. Wowza! It's incredible knowing if he was with us! The emotions that I've been feeling until now are vintage vibes and hopeful. He is really hopeful and dreamer person through enigmatic charm. Make sure don't miss this movie at the cinema! I'm positive that this movie gonna be nominated for an Academy Award, especially Austin Butler's performance.
Top Gun: Maverick (2022)
The best movie for 2022 so far! Perfect energizer for this summertime
I didn't watch the previous movie before, but this movie is legitimately realistic! U didn't need to watch the previous movies because almost the entirety of the chars is new. Right after I finished this movie at the cinema, I felt energized, stronger, and ready to kick in! All of these are because the movie is mesmerizing. Feelin' so real! The movie production team said this movie is really made by actors as a real pilot from special pilot course preparation. OFC, it seems "impossible" but plz remember, there is Tom Cruise, we mustn't use that word!
The narration is about a legendary pilot, Maverick, forced to retire or do the last job as Top Gun Instructor for a confidential military mission. His personal life exp traumatizes him to take the job because he must become an instructor for the son of his dead pilot friends. Long story short, it's about time to narrate the movie with boys military & youth vibe, struggles, and romance.
The pros are so many. Emotional, plausible, entertaining, and insightful for aviation military knowledge. From the beginning, the visuals, audio, costume, and sets are instantly bringing the audience to the movie. So real! The iconic look of Maverick style is still desired now! Pilot leather jacket and bomber jacket combined with Ray-Ban's aviator sunglasses, white tee, and blue denim through iconic Kawasaki bike. On the other hand, the acting performance and storyline are undoubted. Tom Cruise is still proving his perfectionism, perfect! The cons?! I'm sorry, I get biased with all of these pros HAHAHA maybe the romance is a lil bit okay, but it's still great!?
In my personal POV, I'll guarantee for all of u, at least, You'll get positive vibes and force all of your negativity bias or depression to begone. This movie is so positive and a mood-booster. Currently, I still get overreacted euphoria of this movie lol. Don't miss it plz! Top Gun is considered the most iconic movie of the 80s era.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)
Unexpected chars with the very strange movie theme
About the chars, we already knew if Marvel Studio really worked hard to develop audience satisfaction and loyalty. Unexpected chars?! It's a must for Marvel movies! However, this movie is very strange for the superhero theme caused by the "apocalyptic zombie" ambiance. The strangeness of Dr. Strange's movie. This ambiance felt very strange for superhero movies which are they're recently focused on children's segment and happiness themes. This movie is living proof if they want to bring a "dark" movie theme again - since Blade, Daredevil, Elektra, and The Punisher. They hope the strange theme is plausible for Doctor Strange. Maybe, they thought it was the time to join the competitive segment of the dark theme superhero, like the success of DC Comic through The Batman (2022).
The main plot is Dr. Strange forced to save a kiddo girl from being chased by a catastrophic enemy to kill her and absorb her power. This leads to adventurous trips to multiverses of the world. The pros of this movie are very incredible visuals, great moral value, and entertainment. Those three are a must for Marvel superhero movies. If need more satisfaction, this movie provides a new storyline and unexpected chars that maybe could be synchronized with another movie. Somehow, this is really providing satisfaction because we're really curious and can't wait about what is to come. Besides all of the pros, everything is just of standard quality.
However, the biggest cons are very strange movie themes. "Apocalyptic zombie" is really vividly narrated through the end of the story. It's really gross for me. Sadly, there is another disappointment which is the weak movie plot. Tbh, I didn't really convince enough about why trade many lives to save one life? Another odd plot is there's a bunch of chars that narrated as the great leaders but they just came in a glimpse and vanished. What is the actual point to show them in screen time? Lastly, Marvel Studios already pointed out their American political issue which brings very popular themes - American pride, LGBTQ, and Illuminati. This theme is very vividly but subtle through a char name, costume, and direct story.
Overall, in my personal POV, I really get annoyed with the "Apocalyptic zombie" theme but I'm satisfied with the unexpected chars. I thought it was so-so quality, but this movie is still good to watch. If u are really Marvel fans, it's a must to see this movie to guess what is the actual grand storyline in the future. If u aren't, this movie is still good to see because we could really enjoy it as newcomers that didn't know anything about Marvel.
Inferno (2016)
The Pandemic Movie Is Perfect for The Current Covid-19 Pandemic.
Irst of all, I didn't know anything about Inferno (2016) movie things are the sequel to The Da Vinci Code (2006) and Angels & Demons (2009). In the earlier minutes, I get puzzled by a lot of things, and sadly, I just understand it in the middle of the movie. How stupid I am or I'm supposed to be felt like this as the moviemaker intended? The movie is about a professor, Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) had puzzled by an amnesia attack and tried to figure out about any event that actually makes him a crucial world-changer - involved in a pandemic attack idea. So, maybe it is okay for me to get puzzled caused the main chars are also puzzled lol.
In my personal POV, I didn't expect anything and I'm very ready to get surprised by this movie. Overall, it's satisfied me and I've had a lil bit surprised. The pros of this movie are the insightful knowledge, great movie plot, and systematics narration. I really like how insightful this movie is with various actual knowledge - science, history, and pandemics. I've been triggered to do my own research about all of that. I've felt getting smarter even though I didn't really get it lol. The other pros are this movie had a tricky plot which is amazing, and systematically great narration because as a person who knows nothing, I could catch up for this movie sequel.
However, the movie's cons are the plot transition felt too puzzled without a simpler explanation. It felt kinda boring caused of their long explanation to solve the main char's puzzled memory. It's getting more boring because of lack of emotional quality, I didn't feel any intense at any intense moment. Lastly, the movie ending seems didn't satisfying enough and the audiovisual quality is just standard, followed by the quality of the acting performances.
Overall, it is great to watch as movie consumption during the Covid-19 pandemic. Inferno really gives insightful knowledge and entertaining value. But beware yourself, just please don't think about conspiracy theories about pandemic was actually purposed to be made. If Covid-19 was really like that, I'd definitely believe whoever made it's gonna chased over the centuries. LOL. Just enjoy your Inferno with the iconic actor, Tom Hanks.
Daredevil (2003)
It's Good for Old Superhero Mood
In the 2000s, Daredevil (2003) is pretty good for superhero movies themed as a vigilante - who seeks justice by themselves. In my POV, somehow, vigilante movies sound interesting to the audience because as a society we already tend to have some distrust issues with law enforcement. This issue is well narrated through Daredevil's story that seeks justice during the day by following the law rule as a pro bono lawyer, but during the night, he contrasts all of that as Daredevil - a blinded man with superhuman strength. He possesses intelligence from his lawyer job and superhuman strength from his enhanced basic human sensory, especially in hearing sensory - accurately knowing the position of everything. These make him pretty badass as a superhero and vigilant executor.
The pros are great acting performance and audience value, good storyline and visuals, and iconic music. We can see great acting performances for Jennifer Garner as Elektra and Colin Farrell as Bullseye. In my POV, Ben Affleck's performance is just standard as the Daredevil, no offense. Besides that, audience value is great by making a statement about choosing to be a bad guy or a good guy as a vigilante. Maybe it also has a little dark theme for the value but is covered with a romance story to spice it up and make it emotional. The storyline is pretty good because it felt reasonable and the visual is pretty standard quality. The most unexpected is iconic music for using Bring Me to Life by Evanescence. Tbh, I barely know why this song was hype but rn, I know that! Big thanks for this movie.
However, the cons are the storyline, visual, and emotional quality is hardly considered a superheroes movie. At that time, it can't be compared to Spider-Man and X-Men which sadly Daredevil should be much better because both of it has already been made. Daredevil should be compared to other superhero movies with the vigilant theme, The Punisher (2004) and Venom (2018). Compared to those, absolutely Venom was the winner lol. Reasonable coz it's the newest one - the most developed film industry.
In my personal POV, this movie is good enough and not as bad as the rumors. Compared to the movie spin-off, Elektra (2005), Daredevil is still much better. Daredevil is still worth to watch wondering how Marvel Studios movie quality is in back the old days but please don't expect too much.
Friends with Money (2006)
Relateable Middle-Age Life Drama
Friends with money (2006) tell a bunch of middle-aged women that frequently gather around with their relationship drama. They are all so depressed with their own rich life except for the poor and low-lived Olivia (Jennifer Aniston). The main plot is comparing every depressed marriage between all of them especially Olivia as the only non-marriage person. Then, the storyline shows their struggle to live happily and be supportive of each other.
The pros are relatable storylines to a middle-age life crisis, especially for women that usually always compare husbands, happiness, wealthiness, and relationships. All of those gave the audience moral value to make it more relatable to the story. Besides that, this movie duration is pretty short (1.5 hr) which suitable for anyone that bored but only has a short time. However, the cons are everything seems in the standard quality for visual, acting performance, and the developing plot. And in addition, the movie ending seems too rushed.
Overall, this movie is suitable for someone which bored, needs lil bit of companionship, and only has a short time. I'm pretty satisfied watching this movie. You should check it out too and enjoys it.
Elektra (2005)
Marvelous Jennifer Garner in Floppy Marvel's Movies Era?!
Back then, Marvel Studio's reputation didn't marvelous as right now even though they hire a great leading cast, Jennifer Garner. She plays Elektra which prodigy child and an urban legend of a legendary woman that could stop the ancient war - the good vs the evil. She possesses magnificent skills in hand-to-hand combatant, skillful weaponry, and incredible human sense - almost like a sixth sense. Even, sometimes, she could see the future in a glimpse. The main plot is narrating Elektra's struggles from a blurry POV about her fate and messy life - as an assassin and loner. Then, there is a fateful moment from her assassination duty that changes everything.
The only pros are Jennifer Garner's performance which marvelous. Her actings, athletic body, and beauty are the only thing that entertains the audience. Besides that, everything is very miserable - it's really hard to believe if compared to current Marvel movies. Lack of storyline, visual quality, and even barely to entertain us. The storyline always jumps from one to another very quickly. The visual quality seems every picture is the same, dull, and monotonous. As an audience, I began to understand why this movie rating was so bad as entertainment. The only entertaining aspect is Jennifer Garner's performance.
Overall, my POV, big thanks to the marvelous Jennifer Garner's performance that tried to cover the floppy quality of Elektra (2005) but sadly it still failed. The failures of this movie prove that Marvel Studios couldn't deliver a great spin-off from Daredevil (2003). However, they deliver another proof, Jennifer Garner's performance is marvelous. It's still worth watching if wandering how Marvel Studios movie quality in back old days.
Ozark (2017)
It's three in one - emotional, entertaining, and insightful!
Tbh, I just found this TV Series - in early 2022 - because it's really hyped in the world for new coming episodes. I didn't expect it is gonna make me stunned since I've finished my first episode. Since then, I've been binge-watching so emotionally and entertained through an unexpected great storyline. Simplicity in the main plot - money laundering in Ozarks - seems perfect through developing the storyline and characters. The whole storyline only focuses on that main plot but is spiced with developing characters and insightful information about money laundering practice and dramatic life. Almost every episode for every season seems plausible and insightful to believe if it could really happen in the real world.
The pros are a great storyline and chars, an amazing director and actor's performance, delightful visuals, and an informative story. Developing storyline and chars well-narrated through problematic work-life in Chicago, unworkable and unhappy marriage, troublesome kids, and financial shortcut through devilish opportunities as drug cartel's money launderer. Basically, the formula is only focusing on resourceful money laundering practices to make it informative but also delivers problematic psychological issues to make it plausible and relatable to the audience. The amazingness of directors and actors are nominated for tons of Emmy Awards with Bateman winning for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series in 2019 and Garner winning for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2019 and 2020.
Besides that, this series is well-known for iconic visuals through distinctive color grading - ex: heavy blue hues, dim lighting, and deep shadows - to make this series more emotional and entertaining. This series is also pretty accurate for money laundering practices caused the production involved real FBI agents in financial crimes. On the other hand, the cons are the series is not suitable for all the audiences because it could be considered a hardcore genre. Another con is degrading quality throughout time which maybe one of the reasons why this series would be ended at this year.
Overall, this series is really amazing. I've never thought that we could consume TV Series emotionally entertained and learn a lot of knowledge. I can't wait for this series to end magnificently!
