Marry Go Round (2022 TV Movie)
4/10
Not one of Brennan Elliott's better offerings.
15 September 2022
I really like Brennan Elliott. This movie was a waste of his talent. I am not familiar with Amanda Schull. I would like to see her in some other movies so I could offer more insight to her abilities.

From her first scene in Marry Go Round, I found her character annoying and seriously self-absorbed. I was not impressed with Brennan Elliott's sarcastic attitude either. Of course, the rest of the movie was standard Hallmark fare. There were a few mild twists. However, none were outstanding.

Enter the mother of the bride. She was seriously irritating, and remained so through the rest of the movie. She was one of the most awful examples of the irksome, interfering mother's of the bride to be I have seen in a Hallmark romances. What a disgusting, deceiving witch.

There were some subtle twists to the story. However, there were no big reveals. All in all, it was not a memorable movie.

Love's Portrait (2022 TV Movie)
5/10
Relaxing movie, highlighted by the beauty of Ireland.
11 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
From the opening of the movie, the conclusion was already known. Hallmark did a reasonable job with it.

I was annoyed with Lily's boss at the begining of the show and with Lily's obsession with her dead husband. She struck me as being quite self absorbed.

It carried over to her arrival in Ireland, culminating in running William off the road. The plot thickens when William caught up with her at the post. His anger turning into shock when he saw her.

William did an excellent job of expressing his shock.. She struck me as being completely disengaged with her costars. As the movie progressed, she became a bit more connected when they began the quest to find out how a portrait of her showed up at the museum and who sent it. While tracking down the person who sent the portrait, we were treated to the beauty of Ireland.

This was a satisfying movie and a lot more calm than many Hallmark movies. It was a nice departure from the usual. Using actual Irish actors was soothing. I have always loved an Irish accent. Not a heart throbber, but sweet.

Marry Me in Yosemite (2022 TV Movie)
5/10
Beautiful location, less than engrossing movie.
11 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Slipped into a time warp, shades of Chasing Waterfalls. Again, lovely scenery, hyper Cindy Busby.

At least she wasn't as quite as hyper in this offering.

Tyler Harlow is a new addition to Hallmark. He definitely has potential to become an excellent leading man. It would be nice to see him in other Hallmark movies in the near future.

It is refreshing to actually see a nature movie filmed on location and not in Vancouver, British Columbia or Toronto. I have never been to Yosemite and was sincerely moved by the beauty of it.

I was not blown away with the chemistry between Ms Busby and Mr. Harlow.

There were some excellent departures in this movie from Hallmark's usual tropes. A much ignored piece of history in this movie, was the treatment the Native Americans and what they were subjected to throughout American history. It was and still is a stain on our country. I enjoyed the retelling of the native legend of Half Dome.

The interlude between Jack and Zoe on their trek to Half Dome was lovely until the coyotes began howling and Zoe went silly, typically Cindy Busby.

As the movie wound down to the end, love was obvious and the big crisis was the rejection of Jack's essays being unacceptable to the lame villain, her boss. However per Hallmark, Jack and Zoe declare their forever love, marry and live happily ever after.

A pleasant diversion, but not that captivating.

Love Blossoms (2017 TV Movie)
3/10
Was looking forward to this movie. Was not thrilled.

I am a fan of Victor Webster. I discovered him when I discovered Matchmaker Mysteries. After checking out other Hallmark movies and coming across his personal history with Shantel VanStaten, I was curious to see if they had done any movies together.

I found Love Blossoms, a movie they did in 2017. Since they were involved behind the camera I wanted to see if they had chemistry on the screen. Not so much, unfortunately.

The movie was the typical Hallmark formula. Girl loses cherished love one, goes overseas to finish a fragrance begun by the Loved relative in his honor. Meets the answer to solving said problem.

Our Heroine is a perfumer and wants to recreate the fragrance, but doesn't have the formula for the perfume. Having mixed perfumes myself, I know how one must mix various oils and a stabilizing fluid to set your fragrance for consumption. A "Nose" is a must have. She was, indeed very demeaning toward our Hero, sarcastic rude and hateful.

Sadly, there was little chemistry between them. Victor Webster showed more passion toward Danica McKellar in the Matchmaker shows and Bethany Joy Jo Lenz in Five Star Christmas.

The scenery and flowers at the Botanical Garden were beautiful.

Always Amore (2022 TV Movie)
Flat, over-acted.
28 August 2022
This was another restaurant movie. It had potential, but lacked energy. Autumn Resser and Tyler Hynes are usually good bets for Hallmark. They do not set me aflutter, but are reliable in their assorted offerings. Not so this time. Ms. Reeser was more whiny than usual and dull. Her stubborn fixation with her dead husband was over done and Mr. Hynes seemed basically phoning in his part. There were some pleasant inner actions between the main characters, but not enough to carry this entry. Several new Hallmark Movies for 2022 have been less than stellar, this is definitely one of the outstanding ones.

Where Your Heart Belongs (2022 TV Movie)
Wretched, over-acted, seriously awful movie.
24 August 2022
I stumbled across this movie today. I actually watched it originally early on in 2022. It is right up there with forgettable Hallmark Movies.

Jen Lilley is not one of my fave Hallmark stars. Her character in this tripe is one of the major reasons I do not care for her assorted movies. Not only was her character a selfish, shallow and whiny airhead, she was downright disgustedly boring in this entry.

Her treatment of the rest of characters was deplorable.

Christopher Russell is very pleasing to the eye, but he was seriously dull and less than animated in this presentation. What a waste of his talent. He had a cameo in Supernatural for all of ten minutes and stole the scene from the Winchester boys. He has not been able to stretch his acting for the majority of his Hallmark Movies. It would be nice to see him in a role with some chops. This movie was truly awful.

Color My World with Love (2022 TV Movie)
Amazing

This is a Hallmark movie I cannot watch. I am so happy Hallmark has made an intelligent movie about Special People.

As a mother who raised a special child primarily on her own, it is a movie I am unable to watch. It would tear me up. I am a person who keeps emotions tightly bottled up. I know it would rip me apart and honestly, I cannot let that happen. I have lived it.

Thank you Hallmark for covering such an important part of life with such outstanding aplomb and grace.

Nice diversion
9 August 2022
This was a pretty pleasant movie. I didn't know much about Luke Perry. He did a fine job in this movie. It was placed in a beautiful location. For the most part, no one overacted. It was fun to watch Luke Perry become a bonafide cowboy. The horses were indeed beautiful. My favorite scene was bringing home the horses after the real estate jerk ran them off. A descent outing for sure.

Rewarding movie
9 August 2022
I truly enjoyed this movie. It moved fluidly and the stars did a fine job bringing the movie to life. This is one of Hallmark's best movies. My only comment was with Kavan Smith's horseback ride. Cowboys don't post in the saddle. Emmanuelle Vaugier really knows how to ride. It was a treat to have female stars that didn't squeal like teenage girls the way they do in so many Hallmark Movies. It was a pleasure to watch this movie and have mature actors. The children in the movie were also quite good.

All in all with the beautiful setting the music and the actors and actresses it was a satisfying entry.

Beautiful scenery, less than well done
7 August 2022
I look forward to new movies, the setting was top notch, the movie, less than satisfying.

The female lead gave me a headache with her squealing, high pitched voice and shallow acting. The male lead handled his part nicely. Two for two, the new movies from Hallmark, this one was shallow and insipid. The Penavega movie was just irritating. I did love the locations for this one it was lovely and the whales were magnificent.

Love in the Limelight (2022 TV Movie)
Dissapointing
7 August 2022
I was looking forward to watching this. It is seriously a big miss. I enjoyed their movies on Hallmark Movies and Mysteries, they worked well together and were entertaining to watch. This entre was awful.

Not only did they both look like they were rid and put away wet, they both acted like they were in a bad high school play. Mrs. Penavega reminded me of a mindless air head and Mr. Penavega is not a singer. He is a decent guitar player. Frankly, they should stick to dancing. This Hallmark presentation is among one of the most boring movies they have ever made. Honestly, after the first 15 minutes, I was ready to delete it. I did watch the whole thing and then deleted it. At least it was new, if a dull though recycled plot.

My Grown-Up Christmas List (2022 TV Movie)
Disappointshaing and boring
19 July 2022
I was looking forward to this movie. I really enjoy Kevin McGarry. It was nice to see a cleanly shaved face on McGarry. He has a fine jawline. I sincerely wish more of Hallmark's leading men would ditch the "shave burn" persona.

Overall this was boring movie. I agree with another reviewer who stated it felt like the actors "phoned in" their performances. As far as chemistry, it did not sizzle. I was hoping since he and Kayla are off screen partners, it might be better than it was in "Feeling Butterflies", it wasn't. This is one offering which will not be a go to. As far as the military element, it was pretty ridiculous and does not honor our military. It was insulting to the men and women who put their lives on the line every single day.

Beautiful scenery, nice music.

I enjoyed this movie. Ryan Paevey and Ashley Williams did a nice job with this Hallmark show.

They really didn't sizzle together, but were still fun.

There were a couple of miscast characters. Becca was decidedly boring and Hanna's mother looked younger than Ashley Williams.

Ryan Paevey was mighty easy on the eyes and was a shirtless treat. The story was a pleasant departure from the usual Romcom fare. Thank you Hallmark.

Yellowstone Romance (2022 TV Movie)
4/10
Interesting, if a bit shallow.
8 June 2022
There were several things I enjoyed in this movie. I am not familiar with most of the actors in it. Overall it felt a lot like a high school play. The only ones I recognized were Christopher Russell and the actor who played his father (sorry, I don't recall his name), but like him). Christopher Russell is always a pleasure to watch. He must have the patience of a monk to work with the city folk actors, hence my reference to watching a high school play. Two irksome points from a former country girl is the "bull" is a steer and the beautiful "Daisy", a gelding. It is a movie I will watch from time to time thanks to Christopher Russell.

Whoa! What an incredible, engrossing movie.
5 June 2022
Kudos to Lifetime for bringing this show to my living room.

I am not familiar with Angie Harmon's previous works. She was amazing!

I have been a fan of Kristopher Polaha ever since Hallmark Movies and Mysteries in Mystery 101. He is an excellent actor. Honestly, they didn't utilize his talent as much as he deserves. I sincerely hope he will be in several more Buried in Barstow. Sunday June 5th Lifetime is showing an enhanced version at 9Pm Central time. I am on pins and needles to see it.

Mind you, I am sincerely hoping I will finally see Polaha in number 9 of Mystery 101. Hallmark really smacked me upside the head in number 8. Again, my thanks to Lifetime for an outstanding TV movie.

Nice movie, but a bit overdone
3 June 2022
I enjoyed this movie, however it was rather shallow and seriously formulaic to the point of being boring.

Dan the dog man was dense as a stump. He had no clue about his TV star girlfriend and what a manipulating twit she was. Enter the high school girlfriend and first love. From there on, the plot was totally predictable. I enjoyed the interaction between Lee Majors and Lindsey Wagner. It was a treat to see them working together again. The dogs, of course were a joy to watch. An okay movie but a really weak plot.

Chatty Cathy
2 June 2022
I enjoyed this movie, BUT, hyperactive Andrea Brooks behaved like an overactive, empty headed Valley Girl.

Honestly her incessant empty headed chatter felt like fingernails down a slate blackboard! It was nice to see Marcus Rosner in a role in which he is not a villan or spoiler. He is easy on the eyes and a capable artist. As far as Andrea Brooks is concerned, It felt like she was trying too hard to fill the role of her character. "Sam" was amazing! This is a movie I will watch again from time to time, however, while Miss Brooks is in most of the scenes, I will hit mute.

A lovely and satisfying time travel movie!

Thank you Hallmark for a truly fine movie. The actors had such delightful and genuine chemistry. This film was so far above the majority of Hallmark movies. Don't get me wrong. I do enjoy most of their movies, particularly The Movies and Mysteries. Most of them are top notch. It was so satisfying to see a great movie like Rip in Time.

Love at First Dance (2018 TV Movie)

Nice diversion
1 March 2022
I find find this movie to be quite pleasing. Niall Matter is a good actor. I think he is somewhat under used. This movie showed a side of him he you usually don't get to see very often. He is quite talented but rarely gets to show just how versatile he is. Honestly, it was good to see him in a different mode. I used to dance all the time, the scene and music in the ballroom was a real treat. It is my favorite scene in the entire film.

Adriana was a wooden character to say the least. Their dancing in was painful to watch. She is a big woman. It is no wonder their dance scenes were so awkward. On the other hand, the scenes with hope were quite fluid, a pleasure to watch. All in all a satisfying movie.
