Resident Evil (2002)
6/10
Worth a watch
19 May 2024
Resident Evil is a great popcorn horror flick for a movie night with friends. It has a fresh, science fiction cheesy storyline which really gets the game. It's one of those so bad its good deals. Its basically dark comedy. As a resident evil fan and a big zombie horror guy it's just another weird undead flick. The creator of the modern zombie George A Romero was actually going to write the scripts for the movie loving the idea of a zombie virus which I feel would ne better but you could tell that it was made with love while not a cinematography masterpiece itself. It's just a zombie movie you can laugh at and thoroughly enjoy. Worth a watch.

Ghostbusters never fails to entertain
8 April 2024
What's all the negativity about. Critics are the definition of BS. I really don't get the hate and unnderating. It's overly misunderstood. Why can no one accept a good film these days. Nitpick all you want but me and my entire family are massive Ghostbusters fans and it's just a bouncy, vibrant, playful movie to watch. It just captures that Ghostbusters vibe. It's not a clone of Afterlife, its original and atmospheric. The cinematography is great.

Cheesy and surprisingly high on the scares.

End was a bit anticlimactic and the main villain didn't get enough screen time. I think they were too focused on lore which is interesting but complex adding a good few more characters than needed. Great movie!

Really enjoyable
7 April 2024
I feel like I went into this show not expecting much. Hadn't watched The Big bang theory, neither had it been on my radar. But wow, this is how you make a tv show! I binged it from the very first episode all the way to the last - and it never gets old! Its characters are just so well written and the acting is amazing! It's not a boring, nerdy, geeky show full of confusing science which is talked about quite a bit however the show is not based on this completely. And they're still churning out seasons. I cant think of one episode where I was bored. I'm actually rewatching it because of just how good it is! Great binge watch for the family!

The Last of Us (2013 Video Game)

Why cant I give it an 11!?
4 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
The legends are true. This is the greatest game of all time. This digital, virtual world conveys so much. It's just so immersive and atmospheric. Wow it works! This is how you make a video game. It has an emotional, bleak, gritty world, beautiful but dangerous. The chemistry between the two protagonists, the grizzled old man, Lost in his past and the curious, feisty young girl, the post pandemic all she knows. An abandoned, derelict world where everyone fights for survival. They just take a great genre and make it unique and just amazing. It's so popular because there's so much to talk about. Its basically a deconstruction of what a plot is.

And the gameplay is so fun, stimulating and entertaining. It just focuses on general themes as well as the fascinating fungal infection. It's just my favourite game, hits great the first time but is just so repayable. 1000/10.

Dead Island 2 (2023 Video Game)

Hated and underrated
3 April 2024
Dead Island 2 was a pleasant surprise. Most games that go through development hell never come out or get lots of negative feedback when released. Dead island 2 went the second way. I strongly disagree with the people who hate on this game. While its cringy brainless and a bit generic and short I love it. I love the tropical, exotic and steampunk feel. It's a dark comedy massacre, I'm talking chainsaws, sledgehammer flamethrower, goofy but visceral horror. The in depth F. L. E. S. H blood and gore system is satisfyingly unique and disgusting. I love the copious amounts of playful, horrific chaos. It provided me with hours of fun (Not to mention the co-op) Its just open and fun. I'm also a big fun of the zombie genre. Simple, different and good.

How am I the only one who reviewed it!?
3 April 2024
This game is amazing. It's not like The Last of Us or God of war but wow it's good as hell. I've had hours of joy and fun with friends busting vibrant, fresh new ghosts with some familiar faces and cool easter eggs (As a hardcore Ghostbusters fan) The open firehouse has a warm vibe with plenty of nods. The story is very weak but it has amazingly fun gameplay with a real Ghostbusters presentation and a great 100% experience. Plus most of the additional content such as certain cosmetics and features can simply be unlocked for free (Such as the frozen empire uppdate) I really love this game and really hope to see it grow and get the attention it deserves. Thoroughly recommend it.

Finally! A good sequel!
2 April 2024
The original 1984 Ghostbusters just felt like lightning in a bottle that couldn't be recaptured. And I reckon Dan Akroyd and Harold Ramis did it in this successor! The sequel is fun, animated and scary. It's well written with that perfect vibe. It just feels like watching the original movie for the first time again and I love it! I think critics are too harsh on this film. Its bizarre but bouncy, playful and entertaining movie just like the first film. It's not a clone it has an at least 90% original plot. The perfect cheesy horror to get together and watch with friends. Perfect movie night flick. Just a great sequel unlike most other series and a great Ghostbusters film.

Just bad...
2 April 2024
I passionately dislike this movie as a Ghostbusters movie. Let alone the fact that it's also a bad movie but it's just- no! Rated higher than Ghostbusters II and they call themselves critics!? Its the worst in the series. Not in a sexist way but they might've created some of the dumbest most boring characters ever. Afterlife, though there isn't much development they still had decent characters (Paul Rudd was good but unfunny) It's just really stupid and to corny. I know Ghostbusters is a comedy series in general but this is just brainless and unfunny mish mash of a generic alien invasion film but with ghosts. . Yeah, it's got some alright ghosts and good VFX but it 50% just recycles the plot of the original! I mean if you "critics" are still gonna give Ghostbusters II a what, like 5? Well at least it has a unique story! It's just like your usual horror/science fiction "Oh look the paranormal is haunting all of the city!" Thing. It just tries to be chaotic and cinematic and you know what!? Its just a disgusting monster mess. Bad humor, unoriginal plot, but some cool ghosts and ghouls!

Much better than 2016
1 April 2024
Not having watched frozen empire, Ghostbusters Afterlife is the best modern installment and might be my favourite in the franchise. I'm a die hard fan but being as young as I am, I have no nostalgia for the original two movies in the series. Sure the original is classic and the greatest but I think this takes the 80's Ghostbusters flicks and adds a bit of stranger things (I dont mean Finn Wolfhard) and goonies. I really enjoyed this keeping the cheesy, fun and vibrant comedy and adding darkness and creeps. Its unique and original (Couldve added slimer into the mix) the original cast is the best but I enjoy this twist. Not to mention great VFX. As I said it trumps the 2016 reboot (Which is diverse but mediocre) and bursts with spice and a decent amount of originality (A bit of an 80' s clone though). I really love how the plot and dark comedy came together. Great movie!

The Last of Us (2023– )

A Great show and adaptation
31 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Usually video game adaptions are rubbish (resident evil, sonic) And it isn't as good as naughty dog's spectacular digital, virtual adventure (which I actually played after I saw the show) the headline said it all. The Last of Us is one of my favourite dramatic emotional tv shows spanning about ten, hour long episodes each gripping and authentic- quite thought provoking diving deep into different points and topics. Very Immersive. It's a bit slow paced for a post apocalyptic outlast though with lost of boring dialouge especiallyfor a VIDEOGAME ADAPTION. It's not a far fetched, chaotic apocalypse, more of a ruin of an aftermath as the result of a fascinating and terrifyingly real fungal infection (ophiocordyceps) terrifyingly manipulating the body. It compares to the walking dead and 28 days later but In my opinion it trumps them all, gripping you in dark and gritty emotion with quirks and twists that have you sympathize with the characters. The father daughter relationship between Joel and Ellie is just spectacular. Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey really portrayed the classic video game protagonists so well. The grizzly old man, lost in the past of the outbreak and ellie the curious, feisty 14 year old, cute but dangerous. It really stays true to the game. Even an episode based upon its prequel dlc, left behind and one focused on bill and his relationship which feels awkward but key. The awesome, unique infected which I was excited to see only showed up once or twice in the most generic forms which disappointed me quite a bit. Though the bloater looked great! Bit I love the drunken, antagonistic humans. And David was a great villain, a strangely real obsession with ellie and appearance who shows up at the darkest times. It just shows the terror of cannibalism and what a global pandemic can do to human kind. It shows that the real monster are - well the flesh eating infected but you know also humanity itself which really makes you wonder if man deserves to survive or if nature itself should just take over completely. But I do think it really just shifts its focus to the survivors which is interesting but a bit boring sometimes. The end was great too. It just shows the bleak, depressing impact and story. She could've saved the world, the last hope and he chose the flip side. All this for that. That's the powerful, most moving part. Then you look at all their backstories. The sad and rightful deaths. Then the swear - the lie. Since the sequel successor, part II was amazing (though I didnt agree storywise) I'm definitely hype for season two.

Best Kaiju movie ever!!!
31 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Godzilla x Kong a new empire is my new favourite monster flick! DONT LISTEN TO THE "CRITICS" WHO GIVE IT BAD OR MEDIOCRE REVIEWS. It takes everything great from king of the monsters and Godzilla vs Kong and adds so much more! Its quirky and entertaining like Skull island. I watched it in cinema in 4DX. It was the perfect movie for this with many explosions and great fight scenes that drag on but keep you stimulated with vibrant, astonishing and groundbreaking VFX such as Godzilla's supercharged radioactive beam. It incorporates a lot of confusing but exciting science that sometimes bored me and great vibes of mystery. The science fiction and wonder is great. The bizarre but chaotic plot had me gripped and enthralled with emotion and amazement - but some brainless moments too. I think the film is basically just a Kong film with a bit of godzilla spice. Its like avatar plus planet of the apes. I must say Godzilla's final form was a bit underwhelming (I think minus one and shin Godzilla did better) but it was still astonishing and I liked it. Overall I loved it and there is much more to say!

Jurassic Park (1993)

The greatest film ever made... yeah, Chris Pratt😝
2 September 2023
Yes, this may possess some big, fat paleontological inaccuracies, however nobody's stopping it from being my favourite movie of all time. The soundtrack, the story, the casting is just *chef's kiss*. How could you not like this movie, this classic that feels well... 65 million years old. And yes, it takes a LOT of creative freedom, 99.9% diverse from the novel but that's what makes it so great. It's two satisfying, story masterpieces and that it's essentialy a complete different entity to it's book counterpart makes it stand out. The cinematography, the designs! I used to watch this every day as a kid, and although this is not from my time, I have a lot of nostalgia for this masterpiece of an onscreen performance. So much better than Jurassic World. Sorry Chris Pratt, but there's no denying.

This is true... This film has no flaws.
28 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
A campy, corny, bee movie-esque movie. It's full of humour, comical characters and more. I love the cheesy but also hellish ghosts. It's a great premise too. A team of experienced, goofball paranormal investigators interacting with a bunch of both slapstick but spooky spectres. It's a fun concept That has been played around with a lot. An example of influence in other film would be men in black, particularly the first one. You have a lot of similarities between characters such as Edgar the bug and Gozer the destructor, the two main antagonists. It's the best film in the franchise and I recommend it to anyone who hasn't watched this masterpiece.

AMAZING ADVENTURE
5 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
For the early episodes about up to the 6th era of doctor who , the story line was exeedingly boring and bland but the grotesque , satisfying , horriffic and truly strange alien designs are the most incredible part. I love the futuristic , strange use of artificial intelligence and modern , state of the art tech and engineering in this strange universe. The mid eras of doctor who were my personal favourite stories and monsters but towards the Jodie Whittaker era the main storylines were beggining to get more boring and repetetive.
