Chrono Cross (1999)
Best New "Old School" game yet!
Though I'll sadly admit I haven't played the highly acclaimed Video games 'Chrono Triger' by fantasy game goers, I knew I was desperate to play a great refreshing game that made my thumbs blue, my mind fried, and my butt soars after hours of awsome playing. The night I rented it I was sitting on my rear four hours straight. I couldn't believe how fun the game was. The graphics were great, and the music alone should win a Grammy.
Although I have yet to beat this game of 100% enjoyment, I look forward to the many surprises it still holds in waiting for me.
Get transportation. If you don't have a vehicle- WALK. Go to your nearest Video Store and BUY or RENT!!! Then go home, have food and a drink next to you and a large pillow for hours of comforting support. When you can hardly keep your eyes open-SLEEP until you can no longer sleep. Wake up refreshed, eat a good meal and go back to playing! Enjoy....
Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991)
Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves steals your heart away!
One of my all-time favorite films!! I was four when this film came out in theaters, and when it came out on Video, my mom instantly bought it.
If it wasn't for my mom, I wouldn't have a strong passion for this film. Still today, it is one of my favorites. Kevin Costner at his best I say. The acting, scenery, script, plot, and right down to the fighting was brilliantly thought out. I give it a 10/10.
Here's how it goes, basically. It's another Robin Hood movie, but the best there has ever been. You have Robin of Locksley fighting with the Crusades sent out by King Richard. He is caught, nearly gets his hand sliced off but escapes and brings a prisoner with him; though he tried to rescue the rest of the men. As him and this man escape back to England, Robin discovers that his father has been murdered, and Duncan, his fathers assistants, eyes have been cut out. To prevent myself from spoiling the rest of this terrific film I'll leave it up to you to watch. This movie has a good dose of humor, action and romance. And a bit of Christian history. Watch learn and love. You can't get too much of this good thing!
October Sky (1999)
Heart Pounding and Insperational
I had no idea how much this movie(and the books alone) would do so much for me. I've also loved the space exploration projects, and rockets, and stars, and everything that goes along with the Universe and our Solar System. One day, when my grandpa rented this movie, I knew it was something I had to see. I was 12 years old(now I'm 14. Almost 15) I sat there on the carpet, barely blinking at every scene. Of coarse the stunning good looks of Jake Gyllenhaal(playing as Homer Hickam Jr.) caught my eye, but the story outline was terrific. Amazing. Perfect. Well, not perfect. Mr. Johnson could've made it like the actual Memoir the whole way through instead of 70% true.... After I finished watching the movie, I knew I had to meet Homer Hickam Jr. someday, somehow, some way. I rushed to the computer, went to the Internet search bar at the top of AOL, and asked my grandpa on how to spell Hickam. I got a hold of Mr. Hickams official website...... One year later. The day is October 26th, '00. The day of my life I will forever remember. I had finished reading over "Rocket Boys(aka October Sky)" and Mr. Hickam was coming out with a new, "equal" Memoir. "The Coalwood Way." I WAS GOING TO MEET HOMER HICKAM!! My insperation. My mentor. My favorite author. When I met him at his book signing, got my books sign, my life felt complete....until another year later.... I GOT TO MEET HIM AGAIN! His newest Memoir "Sky of Stone" Had just come out this past October. I was going to meet him again. Have him sign a book, well actually books, this time...again. I had just bought Back to the Moon, and hadn't got a chance to finish it. I got my picture taken with him. Mr. Hickam is truely a God_given-gifted, talented man. He's my hero. Ever since I read his books, I've wanted to go into Rocket Science myself now. Just need to fix my Math and I'm ready for anything....
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)
Best Fantasy movie/Book Trilogy to ever, and will ever exist. Harry who?
I had begun to read Fellowship of the Ring before I saw the movie. I finished the first, 70 page chapter before I went to see the movie. I begged, and whined, and moaned, and groaned, and nearly chewed an arm and leg off to beg my mom to take me to go and see it. I had every intention to go and see it when it first came out. Here was my chance! So my mom decided to FINALLY take me with one of those expression that almost seem to look like "You better not ask me to take you to see a movie like this EVER again until you can drive!" I had no regrets what so ever. I had seen Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone with my grandma. My grandma loved it. I thought it was okay. I had somewhat liked the books. My grandma loved the movie obviously enough.(Harry Potter) Me and my mom get to the theater. Get our tickets, order our pop and popcorn(and candy for me) and make our way into the WRONG movie room. Well, wrong timing to be exact. I had wondered why in Gods name nobody was in it. My mom asked the Usher what the hold up was, and he laughed and told us we were an hour early. Despite me and my moms blonde moment, we rushed the the correct showing RIGHT when they started the previews. Amen for that hold up. The Spider-Man Tailer was amazing, just like the Amazing Spider-Man himself(and that good looking actor they'll have play as him) Can't wait to see that flick. So as LOTR starts up, I was instantly hooked, already knowing what the first chapter part of the movie was to be about. Within two hours of the movie, my mom leaned over to me and whispered to me this was the "BEST MOVIE" she had seen in a long, long time. When we walked out after the three hour and 10 minute movie, my Mom told me she had never seen a movie that great. I too will ULTIMATELY agree this is THE ABSOLUTE BEST MOVIE(and book that I'm reading) THAT I HAVE SEEN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!!!!!!! So if what I dragged my mom into, and not wanting to be part of, and loving what she saw can't convince you....nothing can. This is the best movie I have seen in my lifetime.
You couldn't pick a better actor to play the Hobbit Frodo Baggins. Way to go ELIJAH! Way to go Fellowship cast!!!!
HARRY WHO?!
The Mummy Returns (2001)
Evelyn, Rick, and now their son Alex find themselves destined to protect, guide, and guard the Bracelet of Anubis, which was worn by the Scorpion King. Imhotep who was resurrected, is determined to kill the
Brilliant film. Absolutely brilliant! I love the first 'Mummy' movie, but I love this one just as much! There's some repeats in the film(Alex not knowing what the last symbol, the "stork" was such as Jonathan didn't know in the first Mummy. Alex tipping over the pillars in the temple, as to Evelyn knocking over the Bookshelves in The Mummy), But it all adds humor to it. I can't wait to see The Scorpion King. I'm very much interested in Ancient Egyptian artifacts, culture, architecture...EVERYTHING! I wouldn't mind being in another "The Mummy" movie if they ever come out with another one again. This is a movie I just can't get sick of watching. I just watch it over and over and over and over again!
