Argylle (2024)
A snoozer
The movie should've ended right after the opening scene. That should have been the clue to get up and leave the theatre.
As the plot, or perhaps there none, I can't be sure, developed I began to get sleepy, I nodded off a few times from which my significant other woke me because of my snoring. I could've used the two hours and nineteen minutes it lasted. Can't tell if there was a script, and if there was perhaps it was borrowed from another flop.
Argylle has rightfully earned its place along with Ishtar, and Heaven's Gate.
Sadly, I spent money to watch Argylle when I should've waited until next week when it will most likely be shown at midnight when it will induce sleep on those watching it. My wife suggested I ask for our money back but I thought that it was our fault we didn't leave right after it started.
Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)
Can't beehive I spent 140 minutes watching it
Absolutely horrid movie. Be warned. Can't even write the reviews of this in Chinese, stay away not worth it. Don't have enough to say how bad and boring this movie is. The folks who wrote (?) the script we're using lsd or psychotic, well enough is enough. Using 600 words is further punishment after having wasted 140 minutes of my time, In case you didn't pay attention is my review once more time Absolutely horrid movie. Be warned. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (2022)
Boring, portly written script, etc, etc. etc!
I hoped this prequel to the great move The Lord of the Ring would do it justice and go to be equally interesting to watch. However, I soon came to the realization that it was not to be. From the beginning of episode 1 found it y to be a series that seem it was filmed based on no script at all, the actors were left to improvise the actions and dialogue as the scenes developed. This made the episode disjointed and out of sequence.
The director relied on special effects and music communicate with the audience., yet I continue to watch the episode hoping that it would get better but alas it didn't. A bad movie is a bad movie just like you can't put lipstick on a pig to make it look good.
Nomadland (2020)
Depressing depiction of a maladjusted individual
Victimhood at it's best. If you want to see a depressing movie about a mentally challenged individual, this is it! The main character experiences a series of challenges from which she's unable to recover psychologically. Instead she chooses withdraw from society to live the life of a maladjusted victim.
Outer Range (2022)
Boring & senseless
Disjointed serial leading nowhere, seems as if there was no script and it was allowed to go on and on making it up as it go. The sjots were too dark, so much that even with my 59" HDTV I couldn't see many of the scenes. Not worth seeing and definitely not worth another season.
Coda (2019)
A jewel
This movie and it's glorious soundtrack go hand in hand to gently carry us through the vicissitudes, and fragility of life. It seduces, and encaptures us with the gentleness of its music, cinematography and understated romanticism.
The movie carries us through the dark night of the soul of a somber and reflective piano virtuoso contemplating the impermanence of life and contemplating retirement. That is, until he meets his muse. The love that develops catches him unexpectedly and moves us like a gentle summer breeze accompanied by the scent of flowers. An absolute must watch.
Amundsen (2019)
Amazing life story of the greatest adventurer
Great historical drama, well detailed and documented, cinematography is stunning.
Buttwhistle (2014)
Funny and witty
Entertaining in a weird sort of way. Good acting and funny movie but ending is a letdown.
1917 (2019)
10 minute movie...
The first 5 minutes and the last 5 minutes is all you need to understand the purpose of the movie, the remaining 1:50 minutes is lagniappe
The House of the Spirits (1993)
