Night Sky: Dear Franklin (2022)
Intriguing Concept Lost in Soup
It's an interesting concept, and the acting is great. However the SF concept is essentially drowned in the many subplots pursued. These overshadow the science fiction component which I think is what draws in the viewer base. I think the honchos of this series have misunderstood their target audience. It could have been great but has so far lost it's way. A jumble with a smidge of sci-fi and some great actors.
Age of Samurai: Battle for Japan (2021)
Unbelievable!
Clumsy, inaccurate documentary is a sham. It is an insult to Japans extraordinary history and to Japanese. It's junk, and misleading history. A real shame, as it would have been so easy to do it right.
Singularity (2017)
Worse than worthless
No redeeming value in this whatever. Disappointed in everyone having anything to do with this.
Cruise Ship Killers (2020)
Brain dead
Horribly produced shows with very little real content. After commercials, they follow with long recaps and feed you another tiny teaspoon. Probably about 5 minutes of real information provided in a 60 minute slot. Also it seems you cannot tie at least most of the plots to real Cases or people, so not 'reality' but essentially poorly contrived fiction, perhaps to protect the cruise lines. 99% formulaic filler for advertising. At the end, only frustration knowing you've been had.
Waking the Dead: End of the Night: Part 1 (2009)
MTV-style rapid cut style awful
I like these types of shows normally. Unfortunately the directors and videographers style of 1/10 second long shots and deliberately confusing actor dialog succeeded in an extraordinarily unpleasant impression. Turned this off 10 min in, and will not watch this program again. Very poor direction - felt sorry for the actors in this.
