Though I had read about the bizarre custody case of an 11 year old girl whose father, a convicted murderer, was awarded custody on the grounds that the mother was a lesbian, I never knew the amazing details until I saw this engrossing film at the Miami Gay and Lesbian Film Festival.

The film brings up all the relevant facts that the courts either ignored or never knew about, hence the ridiculous ruling. But anyone who sees the film, and I hope the 4 judges who ruled on the case do, will wonder how in the world did such a grave injustice occur in the USA.

This was a mind-boggling and educational film rich in content (minus those who refused to be interviewed for the documentary), well-edited and paced, and something every citizen should see.

I saw this movie last night, and I cannot stop thinking about how incredible it was. Estevez deserves much credit for putting together this *masterpiece* with an all-star cast. Each story was moving. Many tour de force performances, including Demi Moore, Sharon Stone, William Macy, Helen Hunt and *especially* Estevez's father, Martin Sheen. (What a joy it must be to write a film and then direct your father in an extraordinary role.) The pace was brilliant and the audience enjoyed a subtle, but pleasant, tone of suspense as the stories progressed along. The movie was surprising light on the politics and heavy on emotion. The final scene, which was perfectly long, was what really convinced me this was a great film. If I see a better movie this year, I'll be surprised.

I just saw this film at a festival screening with a packed audience that was completely overwhelmed. The direction and acting were fantastic, but it was the screenplay that really impressed everyone.

It is one of those films that makes you feel so much emotion, in this case sadness and despair, that you wonder if you can handle it. Afterwards, I felt like a zombie because the feelings were so intense.

This is not a light and happy film, but one that is so powerful and important to see. Because everyone needs to know that it was not just the Jews who were persecuted during the Nazi era. Homosexuals were rounded up, tortured and killed. You have to see it to understand.

Technically excellent. Very entertaining. Stylish. Informative.

I especially enjoyed learning about the relationships between the Saudi elite and the Bush family. It is now understandable why Bush was able to find Sadam Husseim in a country as huge as Iraq, but unable to find Bin Laden in a country as small as Afganistan!

The segment on the family whose son was killed in Iraq is extremely moving. Unfortunately that young soldier wasn't the only one who died in vain...

Anyone who sees it and still votes for Bush is choosing to ignore the facts. Those who say it is fiction haven't seen the film.

Congrats to Moore for making a brilliant film and for opening the eyes of Americans. Moore deserves praise for his talent and for his effort to set the facts straight.

This movie was absolutely brilliant. The story was amazing the way it intertwined the 3 eras. The direction was flawless, with a perfect pace. The acting is the best I have seen in ANY movie. Kidman, Streep and Moore all deserve to share the Oscar. I have never seen Ed Harris so spectacular, what an actor! Oscar for him too. Not to mention the fantastic Miranda Richardson, Jeff Daniels, and Toni Colette. It only goes to show that Stephen Daldry is a superb director...Billie Elliot was no fluke!

This movie never needed to have been made and never should have been. It was pointless and boring. Aside from Daniel Day Lewis and Jim Broadbent, the acting was mediocre at best. The scenes looked amateur and I didn't give a hoot about the story.
