Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout (2019)
Beautiful world, but way too much tutorial needed to play.
Everything is such a chore with this game.
I have played many RPGs, but never felt like I needed to study to play. Feels like I have to get a boring law degree first before I can actually play it. Little is instinctive, like with most other games. I like the idea of making new items, but if you want to do something with them in the menu, you literally have to scroll past hundreds of items before you find one that you might want to use for certain purposes.
The characters are somewhat okay and nice. Not a lot of depth with most of them. Two you get late in the game and their storyline is more tell than actually show.
The one amazing part is the setting. It doesn't compensate for the rest.
Sherlock: The Final Problem (2017)
Amazing episode: edge of my seat
I love Escape Rooms and this felt like one. Only, this also added the great acting abilities of the main characters and their interactions.
It wasn't just about the puzzles, but also the emotions of a family that is used to pretend they don't have any.
If you run entirely on intellect, where is the emotion?
Here it was.
Also, dealing with a villain that is not on the same level as Sherlock (like Moriarty), but goes even beyond Mycroft when it comes to being intelligent but seemingly devoid of any empathy was fascinating.
It was interesting to see a situation where, save for Watson, Sherlock being the one closest to a normal human being.
House of the Dragon (2022)
Makes me look at crabs differently, but seriously: it's great!
Back when GoT came out, I was looking forward more to the Borgias and saw GoT as a side dish to just check out. I didn't expect much.
How things have changed! Despite the well-known disappointment of Game of Thrones last season(s), I was looking forward to this a lot. The source material is finished and they had likely learned from their mistakes.
I absolutely love this! There's intrigue, many more dragons, Matt Smith and a ton of other great actors.
But yes, Matt Smith and his character are stealing the show. They've already treated us with a battle.
The one thing I'm not enthusiastic about is Otto Hightower. People call him a mix between Tywin and Little Finger, but both those characters entertained me. Otto hasn't done that yet.
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (2022)
A fun series that makes me smile
It's a change of pace from the other Marvel series and I like that they're being so creative in that way. We've had sitcom style with Wandavision, buddy series with the Falcon and the Winter Soldier, crazy time travelling with Loki, a series delving into both teenage life and history with MS Marvel, Hawkeye being a more lighthearted christmas series etc.
Having it be a legal series with super hero elements, fourth wall breaking and a fun cast is something to look forward to every week.
Titania is a great villain: not someone who destroys worlds but a more relatable villain to many people.
I liked the scenes with the Hulk as well.
