Love, Game, Match (2022)
Pleasantly surprised
I saw this movie appear under the romance movie genre in my local streaming service. I had to do a double-take because I recognized the face of the male in the picture and realized that it was Dale Moss from Clare Crowley's season of the Bachelorette.
So basically, I watch this movie out of pure curiosity because I wanted to see if he could really act. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by his performance because it was very natural, and it helped that he play the role of as a tennis coach considering that Dale is a former athlete. It was great that the lead female character was really sweet and likeable.
This story was very generic, but it was still funny, enjoyable, sweet, and the two leading actors were very convincing.
I did it like that the movie portrayed what it would be like to form a real connection with somebody and develop feelings for them as you get to know them. This made it very relatable and realistic, which is refreshing for a romance movie.
Overall, all the characters were really likable, and even the antagonist had an opportunity to redeem herself and offered the audience a valuable lesson on how to deal with romantic competition and conflict in a mature way.
I rarely watch romance movies, but I like this one. It was endearing.
