The Days (2023)
A Captivating Drama Unfolds in "The Days" TV Mini Series: 2023
Hello everyone, I'm Mr. C Reviewer, tonight we are discussing the TV show 'The Day's', a series based on a true story. I watched it on Netflix. The show first premiered on June 1st, 2023, and each episode runs for about an hour. It is rated 15. 'The Day's' was directed by Masaki Nishiura and Hideo Nakata, and created by Jun Masumoto. It is also based on the book 'On the Brink: The Inside Story of Fukushima Daiichi' by Ryûshô Kadota, which I have yet to read but may consider in the future.
Review:
-The acting in the show was impressive. I think the actors and actresses did an excellent job with what they had to work with. They truly brought the characters to life, making me feel like I was a part of the story. I found myself tearing up once and sitting on the edge of my seat multiple times while watching.
-The TV show was well-filmed, but there were a few areas that could have been improved. However, it did have clear and smooth visuals at times, and the lighting was used effectively. While some scenes had dim lighting, as a viewer, we were still able to see the important details. In some scenes where visibility was difficult, it added to the suspense and mirrored the characters' experiences. The use of zooming shots through windows was also notable.
-I found episode one to be quite impressive, with its realistic depiction of the earthquake and tsunami that devastate the plant. The aftermath of the tragedy is also well-portrayed as we observe how the government and scientists handle the situation. However, I personally felt that the quality of the program declines from that point onwards.
The pacing of the show started to seem off, with many scenes containing unnecessary shots of characters' reactions that dragged on for too long. As viewers, we can understand the suspense after a few seconds of watching their reactions, but it was often stretched out too much and became tedious. This is unfortunate because the topic itself is fascinating.
If the scenes had been edited, the show's runtime could have been reduced. Each episode could have easily covered two days of the event instead of one, making the show only four episodes long instead of eight. This would have allowed for more scenes to show the effects of the tsunami on the nuclear power plant and what happened outside of it, such as the evacuation of towns and personal impact. While some episodes ended on cliff-hangers that left me wanting more, I particularly enjoyed when we were given a glimpse of what it was like for workers wearing gas masks while they carried out necessary tasks in the building as a viewer.
-The realistic TV show sets were complemented by the detailed costumes, makeup and props.
-As someone who sometimes struggles to understand dialogue in movies, I appreciated the subtitles for the show. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find it dubbed in English. Although, I do wish they had used Japanese voice actors speaking in English with their native accent. The TV show started off with a voiceover in the opening scene of the first episode and ended with one in the final scene of the last episode, which I found to be a nice touch.
-In my opinion, the music choice for the show complemented the mood of the scene perfectly.
I rate each Show I watch out of 10 and for this one, I give it an 7. Remember this was what I thought about the Program personally and I suggest that you give it a go for yourself.
Sound of Freedom (2023)
A messy approach
Hi everyone, Its Mr C Reviewer, The Movie we are here to talk about tonight is: The sound of freedom. The movie is rated 15 and was first released in the USA in June 22nd, 2023.

Review:
-I was particularly impressed by the way certain scenes were shot. The film featured some stunning views that added to its visual appeal. The cinematography captured these beautiful shots effectively, allowing the audience to fully appreciate them. Additionally, while there were a few scenes with dim lighting, the filmmakers ensured that viewers could still see everything that was necessary to understand and enjoy the movie.
One standout moment in terms of cinematography was a camera shot outside a building. The camera followed the movement of a person through a window, zooming in, and seamlessly transitioning into the room. This technique was employed both at the start and end of the movie, creating a sense of continuity and artistic flair.
The soundtrack of the film complemented the scenes exceptionally well. The choice of music enhanced the overall experience and added depth to various moments throughout the movie. Personally, I enjoyed the soundtrack and felt that it suited many of the scenes perfectly. However, I believe it could have been even more impactful if there had been a few additional tracks mixed in, rather than solely relying on the existing music that the movie had.
I was pleased to find that the parts that were not in English had subtitles, which allowed me to understand what was being said. As a person who prefers watching movies with subtitles, I appreciated this feature. Additionally, as someone with auditory processing disorder, subtitles greatly assist me in comprehending the dialogue.
However, I feel that it would have been even more enjoyable if the movie had subtitles throughout its entirety. There were moments within the film where I struggled to hear and understand what was being said. Upon conducting research on the movie, I discovered that some others also faced similar challenges. Though personally, I do feel like I would have also preferred if the movie had been dubbed in English. This would have eliminated the need for me to pause the film repeatedly to read the subtitles fully.
-I feel that the casting choices for the film were generally acceptable, with some actors delivering convincing performances. Their portrayals added depth and credibility to the movie's overall atmosphere. The acting felt believable in some scenes, but there were moments when it seemed less convincing. The pacing of the movie was relatively quick, as it started without any unnecessary delays. This helped to maintain the audience's interest and kept them engaged throughout the film.
-The photoshoot scene in the movie could have been improved with a few alterations to enhance its effectiveness and maintain the sensitivity of the subject matter. A camera shot focusing on the door with the woman voice directing the kids and the flash under the door would have been more effective. This shot would create anticipation and draw attention to what is happening behind closed doors, symbolizing the hidden nature of human trafficking. To make the scene a little longer it could have included a viewpoint of the camera flashing with just the woman telling them what to do behind it, as well as one close-up shot of her applying lipstick on one of the kids and that it for that scene.
In the original scene, I feel like it showed too much detail that was not essential for the story. The scene appeared to go over the top, detracting from the overall experience of the movie. Despite its commendable aim of raising awareness about human trafficking, the portrayal of children posing for photos seemed to be handled insensitively, potentially undermining the film's overall message and while it is important to provide context and background information, it is equally crucial not to overwhelm viewers with unnecessary information. By streamlining certain aspects of the scene, such as extraneous dialogue or excessive props, the focus can remain on conveying a powerful message about human trafficking, and the portraying children posing for photos in a less explicit manner would prevent any potential prurient interest from arising.
The filmmakers had a crucial opportunity to shed light on the horrifying reality of child trafficking, but instead, they opted for a convoluted and messy approach that does more harm than good. This is a missed opportunity to educate and inform viewers about this pressing issue. The film's portrayal of human trafficking also could have been more effective by focusing on the emotional and psychological impact on the victims, rather than dwelling on the visual aspects of the crime. By doing so, the filmmakers would have been able to provide a more comprehensive and empathetic understanding of the issue, resonating with the audience on a deeper level.
-The lack of focus on survivors, shallow character development, and missed opportunities to delve deeper into the consequences of human trafficking all contribute to its shortcomings as a movie. I think that this story would have been better suited for a television series format. By presenting it in parts, a TV show could allow for a more comprehensive exploration of the topic, giving it the time and attention needed to tell it properly. This would provide ample opportunity to delve into the various aspects of human trafficking, including its effects on survivors, their families, and those working to combat this heinous crime.
I think it is essential to portray the reality of child trafficking, as it is not solely perpetuated by sinister strangers who abduct children under the cover of darkness. The reality, not sufficiently explored in the film, is that many perpetrators are individuals known to the families, often exploiting drug-addicted parents' vulnerability or preying on teenagers facing rejection often due to their sexual orientation.
Its exploration of gender dynamics within this complex issue was thought-provoking and raises awareness about the involvement of both men and women in perpetrating these crimes. While it could have delved deeper into this aspect, I do think that the film successfully challenged some societal stereotypes and sheds light on the often overlooked experiences of male survivors as well.
-To be frank, I found most of the children's reactions in the movie after being saved to be unrealistic. They were shown dancing, laughing, and playing. It seemed like the movie portrayed these reactions to make it feel more uplifting. In reality, children who have been rescued from human trafficking would likely experience a mix of emotions including happiness but also trauma, withdrawal, and potential addiction to drugs that they were hooked onto by the traffickers. They may not immediately want to go home and face their families due to what they have been through, needing time to heal and recover if they choose to do so. The ending of the movie gave the impression that the children are saved, happy, and everything is fine, when in reality this is just the beginning of their journey towards healing and recovery. It is important to note that someone watching the movie for the wrong reasons might also mistakenly assume that everything is perfectly fine now for these children.
-I think that while the quote "God's children are not for sale" carries an important message about human trafficking and exploitation, it may not be the most inclusive or effective way to communicate this message.
-While watching the movie, I found myself shedding a few tears, but I had expected to be moved to tears far more frequently. The film, in my opinion, failed to deliver the powerful and emotional impact that I had anticipated. This was not only due to the emotional resonance, but also the narrative structure and storytelling technique employed in the movie. The film's narrative suffered from a disjointed and poorly structured presentation. It frequently jumped between different time periods and locations, leaving viewers feeling disoriented and struggling to piece together the events. It seemed as though some scenes that could have connected the different storylines were omitted, which only added to the confusion.
Life in the Hole (2017)
I was hoping for a more provocative or controversial ending.
-Hi everyone, Its Mr C Reviewer, The Movie we are here to talk about tonight is (Drum roll) Life in the Hole. In March of 2023, I had the opportunity to buy and watch the Movie on Prime Video, with a runtime of 1 hour 20 minutes. 'Life in the hole' was first released in the US January 31, 2017. The Movie was both directed and written by Tony Mendoza, with Jacob Blodgett and H. E. Joyce also contributing to the screenplay.
Summary
Amidst the desolate expanse of a remote warehouse, two rival prostitutes held against their will unite to rescue a young girl from the horrors of child sex trafficking.
Review
-As someone who values both visual and auditory components of a film, I appreciated the presence of subtitles throughout the entire movie. It allowed me to fully immerse myself in the story and better understand the dialogue. The film's use of a voice-over by the antagonist to explain the significance of the hole at the beginning I feel was an effective way to draw us, the audience in. In my opinion, the movie could have been improved if the writing was better. While the movie did raise some awareness about human trafficking, I do feel that there may have been room for improvement in terms of execution.
While the acting was decent overall, there were moments where it fell short and could have been better. Throughout the movie, I noticed that the makeup was impressive in some scenes, but lacked consistency in others. In my opinion the movie's subtle dim lighting not only provided adequate visibility but also complemented its overall tone. In one particular scene, the camera captures a view of the outdoors during a small rainstorm. However, the visual effects used to depict the rain I feel didn't achieve a high level of realism. The sound effects appeared to be excessively amplified, creating a perception of heavy and wet boots instead of the intended light footsteps on concrete.
While I appreciated the small glimpses into the characters' backstories and daily lives that the movie provided, I feel like it would have been even better if the characters had engaged in more direct conversations about their personal histories, aspirations, and dreams with the other victims. The movie utilized filters during flashbacks and drug-taking scenes to provide clarity, but I found it to be a detractor from the overall tone. It seems to me that there might have been an alternative way to convey what was happening, perhaps by showing both an objective view of the situation and the character's subjective perspective.
I found the setting of the movie to be convincingly realistic, and the predominant use of a single room as the primary location created a sense of confinement that effectively immersed us as viewers in the characters' experience. I appreciated the introduction of new characters throughout the movie, but I was expecting more individuals to be confined in the room considering its size.
-I think that I would have liked the movie more if the characters had worked collaboratively to bring down the main antagonist, while also fighting off other characters who were aligned with him. Additionally, I would have appreciated a greater emphasis on scenes depicting freedom within the movie. I was hoping for a more provocative or controversial ending, Although I sense that we may have had some clues about what occurred, I cannot be entirely certain. In my opinion, incorporating a scene featuring Carla entering the building at the beginning or end, along with a flashback, would have provided a more conclusive ending if my assumptions based on the hints were accurate.
For each Movie that I watch, I rate it out of 10 so for this am going to give it a 6.4 Remember this was what I thought about the Movie personally and I suggest that you give it a go for yourself.
Sex Traffic (2004)
A gripping TV mini-series that delves into the disturbing world of human trafficking.
-Hi everyone, Its Mr C Reviewer, The Show we are here to talk about tonight is (Drum roll) Sex Traffic. This is a TV two episodes mini-series. In March of 2023, I had the opportunity to buy and watch both episodes on Prime Video, with a runtime of about 1 hour and 30 minutes with each episode. The TV Show was rated 18 in the UK and was first released in October 14, 2004. 'Sex Traffic' was directed by David Yates and written by Abi Morgan.
Summary
This powerful drama sheds light on a dark and often hidden crime that affects millions worldwide. It follows the harrowing journey of two sisters who are lured into the sex trade and their desperate attempts to escape. Through their eyes, viewers witness the brutal reality of this global issue and the devastating impact it has on victims and their families.
Review
-Although episode one began with a prologue that effectively established the mood, I personally find such introductions somewhat annoying. In contrast, episode two picks up right where the first episode ended, which I found more engaging. In my opinion, the acting in the show was quite impressive. I appreciated that non-English dialogues was accompanied by subtitles, although I think that it would have been even better if subtitles were available throughout both episodes. At times, this mini TV series expertly portrays the harrowing reality of sex trafficking from a female perspective, shedding light on a pervasive global issue. One scene in particular caught me off guard and made me jump while watching the episode.
While I appreciated the realism that the shaky camera added to scenes featuring running characters, I found it somewhat distracting. In particular, there were moments where the sound quality fluctuated due to the switching of cameras for different angles. Overall, while I acknowledge the intention behind using a shaky camera, I personally would have preferred a more stable approach. One aspect of the story that particularly impressed me was its balanced portrayal of different perspectives. We were given insight into the experiences of both the victims and those attempting to help them.
While I enjoyed the show, I felt that the series would have benefited from stronger writing. The large number of characters introduced in the series made it feel somewhat overwhelming. In my opinion, the story would have been more better if it had delved deeper into the characters. Specifically, I believe that more attention should have been given to the relationship between the two siblings and the other victims, I feel that if we was Introduced to Daniel's character from one of the siblings' perspectives before immersing the us the viewer in his own viewpoint could have potentially enriched our experience of the show.
For each Show that I watch, I rate it out of 10 so for this am going to give it a 8, Remember this was what I thought about the TV series personally and I suggest that you give it a go for yourself.
Human Trafficking (2005)
A hard to watch film
-Hi everyone, Its Mr C Reviewer, The Movie we are here to talk about tonight is (Drum roll) Human Trafficking. When I first watched this, it was presented as a two-part movie, even though it is technically a TV mini-series. In March of 2023, I had the opportunity to watch the two movie's on Prime Video, with a runtime of about 1 hour 30 minutes for each of the movies. The film was rated 14 in the US and was first released in US October 24, 2005. The film was directed by Christian Duguay and written by Agatha Dominik and Carol Doyle.
Summary
ICE's specialized team are investigating an international human trafficking network that has targeted a diverse group of young women, including a single mother from Russia, a teenager from Ukraine and Romania, and an American tourist as young as 12 years old.
Review
-In my opinion, the movie featured some pretty impressive acting and cinematography, with a particularly noteworthy attention to detail in the realistic set design. While I appreciated the use of subtitles in the first part of the movie to translate non-English dialogue, I was a little disappointed that they were not consistently available throughout the entire film. Furthermore, there were no subtitles provided at all during the second part, which detracted a bit from the viewing of the movie.
I feel that the Movies provides a compelling perspective on the extent of human malevolence across different cultures and regions. Despite my prior knowledge of the movie's themes, its unflinching depiction of the brutal truths of our society left an indelible impression on me. The film was difficult to watch, and at various points, I found myself overcome with emotion.
I appreciated how the audience was given glimpses of the story from Kate's perspective, as she worked behind the scenes to help rescue victims of human trafficking. Additionally, the inclusion of scenes from the victims' point of view added depth and complexity to the narrative. After closely analysing the Movies, I have identified areas where the writing could be improved through a few revisions. Specifically, I noticed that certain scenes felt rushed due to the the list of characters and limited screen time, resulting in insufficient character development. In my opinion, adding a few more episodes could have improved the pacing and allowed for more meaningful interactions between the characters.
I appreciated the inclusion of male victims in this one, as this issue often receives little to no attention. Human trafficking affects individuals of all genders, and while Men and boys may be fewer in number, their experiences are still valid and important. To increase awareness about male victims of human trafficking, I feel like it would have been even more beneficial if the movie had featured a male's story alongside the characters that the movie more closely followed.
In my personal opinion, the ending of the movie was satisfying as it offered a positive resolution, which is a departure from the common depiction of human trafficking in other films. I believe that watching movies like this can help raise awareness about the serious problem of human trafficking, and I hope that many more people will take the time to do so.
For each Movie that I watch, I rate it out of 10 so for this am going to give it a 8.4. Remember this was what I thought about the Movie personally and I suggest that you give it a go for yourself.
Trafficked (2017)
A heart-wrenching journey.
-Hi everyone, Its Mr C Reviewer, The Movie we are here to talk about tonight is (Drum roll) Trafficked. In March of 2023, I had the opportunity to watch a movie on Prime Video, with a runtime of 1 hour and 48 minutes. The film was rated 15 and was first released in US October 6, 2017. The film was directed by Will Wallace. Prior to viewing this movie, I was unaware that it was an adaptation of Siddharth Kara's book 'Sex Trafficking: Inside the Business of Modern Slavery.' Learning this has piqued my interest in reading the book, and I plan to purchase it later this year to coincide with Human Trafficking Awareness Month in January.
Summary
Embark on a heart-wrenching journey with three young women from diverse backgrounds - America, Nigeria, and India - as they become victims of a sophisticated global trafficking ring and are forced into sexual slavery in a Texas brothel.
Review
-Despite its brutal portrayal of the grotesque realities that many people face of all ages and genders every day around the world, I believe that this movie deserves to be watched by many others. The film presents an unfiltered and genuine portrayal of a pressing issue that requires greater attention and understanding. Its message is both powerful and sobering, underscoring the urgent need to raise awareness and address the stark realities it exposes.
For me I feel like there was a deeper meaning behind the selection of actors and actresses for certain roles in this Movie. As I watched the movie, I couldn't help but notice that some of the antagonists had a semblance of kindness in them, I have a strong sense that the casting decisions are made deliberately, with the purpose of cautioning us against relying solely on outward appearances. While the acting in some scenes could have been improved, overall, I found the performances to be quite strong. There were moments where certain actors could have delivered better, but there were also several instances where the acting was exceptional.
One of the things I appreciate about this movie was the way it interweaves the stories of Sara and Amba, with their paths crossing around 20 minutes into the film. I liked that along the way, we were introduced to Mali, a character who plays a crucial role in keeping Sara and Amba engaged in conversation and supporting them as best she could while being in the same situation herself. Another aspect I particularly enjoyed was the use of flashbacks to reveal the characters' pasts and the circumstances that led them to their current situation within the story. These glimpses that we got to see in their lives, I feel added more depth and complexity to their personalities.
I appreciated that when the movie featured several non-English speaking parts that it included subtitles to help us, the viewer understand the dialogue. However, I feel like it would have been even more convenient if the subtitles were available throughout the entire film. To be honest despite being aware of the challenging nature of the film, I was still deeply moved by its powerful and intense scenes. In fact, there were several moments that brought tears to my eyes due to their emotional impact.
-While I thoroughly enjoyed the near ending of the movie, the final scene left me with a sense of melancholy. However, I appreciate the director's decision to end the film on a realistic hard hitting note.
For each Movie that I watch, I rate it out of 10 so for this am going to give it a 8.1. Remember this was what I thought about the Movie personally and I suggest that you give it a go for yourself.
Fall (2022)
A daunting 2,000-foot structure Movie
-Hi everyone, Its Mr C Reviewer, The Movie we are here to talk about tonight is (Drum roll) Fall. In March of 2023, I had the opportunity to watch a movie on Netflix, with a runtime of 1 hour and 47 minutes. The film was rated 15 and was first released in Egypt on August 10, 2022. The film was both directed and written by Scott Mann, with additional writing support provided by Jonathan Frank.
Summary
Becky receives a call from her best friend Hunter, inviting her to climb a abandoned B67 TV tower, which is a daunting 2,000-foot structure of rusted metal and clattering rivets, after enduring 51 challenging weeks since a traumatic event to get back out there.
Review
-The movie's cinematography impressed me, particularly the use of various camera angles and zooming techniques that added depth to the scenes. I appreciated how the film captured some breath-taking views in certain moments. The decision to shoot most scenes in a single location contributed to the sense of entrapment felt by both the characters and us the viewers, I feel thereby intensifying the overall viewing experience. In my opinion, the movie's soundtrack was exceptional and effectively complemented the various scenes. While the movie had its captivating moments, I must admit that it felt a bit prolonged at times.
There were instances when I found myself checking how much of the film was left. However, I appreciated the intense scenes that added depth to the overall experience. At certain points during the film, I found myself at the edge of my seat, gesturing for help as if I were trapped atop the tower. I feel that the makeup team also deserves praise for their convincing portrayal of the characters' physical distress due to exposure and dehydration. While the acting was commendable, it didn't quite reach the pinnacle of excellence I've witnessed before. Nevertheless, the performers managed to deliver a solid performance given the constraints they faced.
As a viewer who appreciates intricate plotlines, I found this movie to be lacking in that aspect. In my opinion, the film lacked a certain level of seriousness and failed to establish a strong emotional connection between the audience and the characters. Incorporating more flashbacks showcasing the characters' friendship could have potentially enhanced this aspect of the film.
In my opinion, the portrayal of the climbers' decisions and actions in the movie did not align with what experienced climbers would typically do in such situations. Several scenes depicted mistakes that seemed unrealistic or unlikely to occur among skilled climbers. While it's true that following all the safety rules of an experienced climber would have prevented the events depicted in the movie, it's understandable that the writers chose to deviate from realism in order to create a more gripping and memorable story. This decision ultimately led to a longer and more captivating film, which I believe was their intention.
-The viewing experience was difficult due to my personal feelings towards the character: Hunter. I found her behaviour to be unkind and pushy, which is particularly upsetting for me given my past experiences with peer pressure.
-As the movie progressed, I noticed a few inconsistencies that hinted at where the plot was heading. As it turned out, my intuition was correct, though I must admit I was still somewhat taken aback. Although I enjoyed watching the movie, I couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed that a scene which I was eagerly anticipating did not appear at the end. The absence of this scene made the ending feel somewhat abrupt to me.
For each Movie that I watch, I rate it out of 10 so for this am going to give it a 7.1. Remember this was what I thought about the Movie personally and I suggest that you give it a go for yourself.
Trade (2007)
A film that sheds light on the issue of sex trafficking.
-Hi everyone, Its MR C Reviewer, The Movie we are here to talk about tonight is (Drum roll) Trade. In March of 2023, I had the opportunity to watch a movie on Prime Video, with a runtime of two hours. The film was rated 15 and was released in the US on January 23, 2007. Directed by Marco Kreuzpaintner and written by Jose Rivera and Peter Landesman. Peter Landesman's January 2004 cover story for the New York Times Magazine, titled 'The Girls Next Door,' served as the basis for Trade, a film that sheds light on the issue of sex trafficking.
Summary
"Trade" follows the story of a young girl who is kidnapped and sold into sex trafficking. The film explores the harsh realities of human trafficking and the efforts made to rescue victims.
Review
-I was delighted to find that the program had English subtitles, especially since a significant portion of it was in another language. The skilful portrayal of the actors and actresses in this movie was truly commendable, despite the difficult subject matter that made it hard to watch. The film effectively delivers a powerful message by exposing the harrowing realities of child trafficking. Although the storyline is fictional, it's hard not to reflect on the fact that similar events occur in the real world, affecting actual people. The portrayal of such situations was so poignant that it evoked a strong emotional response from me. I found myself on the verge of tears several times while watching, and by the end, tears were streaming down my face.
The cinematography of the movie was captivating, featuring an array of both close-up and distant shots. The film beautifully captures various locations. While the soundtrack complemented the scenes effectively, it did not resonate with my personal taste enough to warrant inclusion in my music playlist. Having read several books on human trafficking and having watched the TV show Criminal Minds prior to viewing this, I had some background knowledge on the subject matter. In all honesty, I found some of the scenes in question to be unrealistic. Specifically, the two main villains appeared inexperienced and made reckless mistakes that seemed out of character. After reflecting on it, I believe that the characters were intentionally written that way in the movie script to add an extra layer of suspense and to create another thrilling chase sequence within the film. I believe it would have been prudent for them to ensure the safety of the van's contents by securing the two mains before leaving the vehicle unattended to relieve themselves, either by locking them up or ensuring that the door was locked. I share the same sentiment regarding the portrayal of the seller and buyer dynamics in the movie. However, I would have preferred to see more passers-by in the crowded scenes take action against them. It felt unrealistic that they mostly ignored what was happening. This aspect detracted from the overall immersion of the film.
-The movie had a great beginning, gradually introducing us to the characters of Adriana and Jorge, and then slowly revealing some details about Veronica. After about 7 minutes, the plot started to pick up and it was intriguing to see how the three storylines eventually intertwined. In my opinion, it would have liked it more if it had to delve deeper into the personalities of the three main characters, as well as the side characters who were held captive by the villains too. Initially, I had some doubts about one of the characters in the movie, but my perception changed after encountering the full scene of the first plot twist. As I continued watching, I was pleasantly surprised by the several unexpected twists that followed within the movie.
For each Movie that I watch, I rate it out of 10 so for this am going to give it a 8.2. Remember this was what I thought about the Movie personally and I suggest that you give it a go for yourself.
Don't Hang Up (2016)
A pretty creepy Movie
Hi everyone, Its Christopher the reader. The Movie we are here to talk about tonight is (Drum roll) Don't Hang Up. I first watched this film in January, of this year (2023) The film was rated 15. 'Don't Hang Up' was first aired on the 22nd of October in the year 2016, Which had a runtime of 1 hour and 23 minutes.
-I liked how the Movie started, It got intense straight away. Overall I thought that the film had quite a bit of tension which held my interest. It was pretty suspenseful while watching the Movie I kept wondering what the caller was going to do next. Personally I really liked the cameragraphy that was in the film, I thought that it was shot nicely. I loved all the camera shots and angles used and especially as we view the effects of going through keyholes and stuff.
I liked how some things were laied out within the Movie with media and that we got to read intro name tags that were displayed on the screen when first seeing a few of the characters. I loved the lighting that was in the film I think it was done pretty well especially when parts were filmed within dim lit scenes. I feel like we got to see all the characters & objects that we were supposed to see at the right time. I enjoyed most of the soundtrack within the Movie it felt like it fitted well with what was happening on screen.
To be honest I feel like the acting within the film was pretty good. I thought that the casting for the movie seemed okay, I feel like the voice actor, Philip Desmeules did a great job at making Mr. Lee, the caller sound rather frightening. For me it made the character seem even more creepy. I do feel like I would have casted a few characters differently especially after reading the full film's summary, which says that the two mains were meant to be teenagers but to me they did seem to be older. When doing some research, I did find out that the two actors who played Sam and Brady had to be at least 24 to 25 when fulling there roles. Thinking about it now, to me I don't think it seemed that realistic. It was pretty far fetched, I do feel like if was done a little different it could have been a bit more believable. I would like to see a re-make of this done in the future.
-I do feel like it could have done with some more character development, perhaps by even just adding a few more flashbacks in of Sam and Brady as people. I did kind of feel for them but because of the lack of character development I did find it pretty challenging to do so.
-I liked that at the end that we actually get to understand why the caller chose to do all this in the first place. I did think that part was very predictable, Personally I did guess the reasoning why about half way through the Movie. I do feel like I would have guessed even sooner, if I did happen to pause the film and think about it. This was a Movie that I did get lost in. I found it pretty scary to be honest, but personally would have like more it if it had just ended differently and for them to have learn their lesson instead.
For each film that watch, I rate it out of 10 so for this am going to give it a 6. Remember this was what I thought about the Movie personally and I suggest that you give it a go for yourself.
Alone (2020)
A Pretty good intense Movie
Hi everyone, Its Christopher the reader here, The Movie we are here to talk about tonight is (Drum roll) final days / alone. I first watched this film in January, of 2023. The movie was rated 15. 'final days / alone' was first aired on the 16th of October in the year 2020, Which had a runtime of 1 hour and 32minutes. It was directed by Johnny Martin and was written by Matt Naylor.
-I liked how the film started, I thought it was pretty cool. I think that the Movie showed a perfect portrayal of what it is to be alone and isolated. I found it pretty fun how the story stays with a pretty small cast, other an the zombies. To be honest I do think that it felt realistic, it had a few intense scenes which had me on edge where I couldn't stay sitting still. I enjoyed most of the soundtrack within the film it felt like it fitted well with what was happening on screen. I liked the lighting that was within the movie, I think it was done pretty well especially when parts were filmed within dim lit scenes. I feel like we got to see all the characters & objects that we were supposed to see at the right time.
To be honest I wasn't a huge fan of the pacing of the movie. I thought the acting was okay, I do believe that it could have been better. I think that this is the point where Tyler Posey's acting for me started to improve more from his past work's that I have seen him in. I feel like we get to see more of the characters that he is playing, emotion as well as pain a bit better on screen.
I feel like the infected people looked pretty good. I don't think they were to bad to me I found them kind of creepy especially seeing most of them do Parkour while trying to get to their target. I liked the small video vlogs that Aidan's character made. I think if I was ever in a zombie apocalypse I would have also have done some sit down vlog diaries to help pass the time and also maybe to look over especially as I have a bad short term memory but a good long term.
I would have liked to have seen some more scenes just after things started happening, I feel like there was meant to be a lot more of that content but was cut from the film to shorten it down. There was tasks that was mentioned within the movie where I thought Aidan didn't get to in time before it was shut off but it turned out that he was able to which he get to find out quite a while later. Some scenes to me didn't make much sense when I was watching it play out, like when one of the characters was almost in a place where the overall result was one that they pretty much wanted to be but run the other way which was the most silliest and most of all the dangerous situation to do at the time.
From my research on the film, I discovered there was another Movie which I have watched called '#Alive' on Netflix with pretty much the same script which I personally, think is pretty cool. I love to see different versions of story's, like books to films. The main thing that I found out was that both script's were based on a film called 'The Night Eats the World' that came out in the year 2018, which I plan to watch soon on prime video which is also in English.
- I wished that they had done more with the character, Eva. The way the movie show her to us it made her sadly seem like a pretty lazy character. I don't feel like we got to know her as a person either, only that she was good at art. It felt like She was only there to be a love interest, waiting around for Aidan to try and save her which I really dislike. Personally as a viewer I would have liked for the film to have had some scenes following Eva's point of view. I do feel like if this was included within the Movie that it could have helped with that part at least a little bit.
- To me the ending felt pretty rushed, It left us on a cliff-hanger. I wasn't a fan of how it all abruptly ends with no resolution. The way it ended it didn't give us, the viewer answers to the questions most have been asking. I would have been more happier with how it finished if there was a sequel which at this time sadly there isn't.
For each film that I watch, I rate it out of 10 so for this am going to give it a 8.5. Remember this was what I thought about the Movie personally and I suggest that you give it a go for yourself.
Teen Wolf: The Movie (2023)
Very Good first Movie following after the TV Show, 15 years later!
Hi everyone, Its Christopher the reader here, the movie that we are here to talk about tonight is (Drum roll) Teen Wolf: The Movie. Before I start the review I have to say I am a huge Teen Wolf fan, I have autism and it has been my special interest since I was 14 and now I am 23. Which is a long time. I remember that when I watched the last episode of the show I was really sad that it ended. I was pretty happy to hear the news about this film. The first time that I got to see the Movie was on the 27th of January, of this year 2023. Which was rated by most people for ages 18 and up. 'Teen Wolf: The Movie' was first aired on the 26th of January in 2023 on paramount+ for most viewers. It was written as well as directed by Russell Mulcahy. It was also written by Jeff Davis, Will Wallace and Joseph P. Genier, with a runtime of 2 hours & 19 minutes long.
-I enjoyed watching the film and I personally think that I liked it even more than the last few seasons of the actual show. The theme intro was definitely different from the original that we are used to but which I did enjoy, For me It did give of Wolfblood vibes which was a show that came out in 2012-2017. (Which was one of my special interest before Teen wolf) I do feel like this Movie was a little more mature than the TV Show was. Which in my opinion was a pretty cool thing to see as it feels like it has grown with me. I feel like a lot of the actors & actresses did a good job at showing their characters emotion as well as pain on screen, I liked seeing some of their acting also improve from the show. I enjoyed how we, the views got to see characters appear within the film, it felt pretty smooth and I liked how they linked up well within the story.
I loved the the Movie gave us flashbacks, very much like they did in season 3 with episodes 5 (Frayed) & 6 (Motel California). As a Teen wolf fan I was a bit disappointed about Stiles not being in the film, how could we not he is one of the main characters in the Show. When watching the film I do think that they could have improved it a little by adding more scenes of him. I did notice that we did get one little scene of him but featuring just his back. He was definitely mentioned in the Movie within five scenes in total. I heard that the person who plays stiles (Dylan O'Brien) was pretty busy at the time of making this movie and I have read that he wouldn't be opposed to coming back sometime in the future. I am sure its just my mind trying to scare me because the Nogitsune was in this and am worried that he maybe did something to him and that thing is kind of starting. Ahhh. I am just scared for is character and the fact that he is on his own with out his pack and what Lydia said about him within her dream. Oh I must add I would totally love it if Stiles came back and for him to meet Eli, I think that would be fun to see play out, Personally I think that they could get on pretty well.
I loved the flashback scenes that we get between Scott and Allison, I think that the film did a pretty good job at showing their relationship within the Movie. It definitely got me wanting to re-watch the TV Show again. All 100 episodes. Another scene that I liked within the film has to be the one with Scott, the dog and the little girl, Alicia. I think having that included was really good, I feel like it made his character feel more solid within the Movie. I also kind of feel the same with Dr. Alan Deaton, Chris Argent characters in a way but I personally would have just liked for us to have had some more time with them on screen because I love them so much. I know that I would have liked to see Allison's dad coming to grips with his dead daughter actually being back and I know 100% that I would have liked if the rest of the characters had more screen time though I definitely loved how we were introduced to Eli and Lydia characters but again I would have liked more time with them. Eli is a completely new character I just wanted to know more about him and with Lydia, its been 15 years I just wanted to know more about what she has been getting up to.
At this time I am pretty happy with what we got. I do think that they could have done more with the other characters though, It felt like they were kind of hanging around not doing that much. I think its got to do with TV Show to film in my opinion. I hope that another two movies will get made like I have been hearing a lot about, that its going to be a film trilogy. Personally I would have done what Waterloo road did by having the TV series and then making a brand new series that follows a few characters years later in that world. I don't know I just don't think am used to it being two different types. I can say that I did like the action that it had but for a Movie I did want a bit more. My mind did tell me things like coming up to the end of the episode now, time to get up move around get a drink and snacks for the next episode Which landed around the 50-60 minute mark for me each time then only to remember that its a film.
-I liked the special effects in the Movie, I think that they were pretty neat, a lot better than in the TV Show in my opinion. It reminded me of many special effects that a lot of family film would have, I do feel that there is still room with improvement, but I feel like that's just me who really loves seeing a lot of details within pieces of work. I loved the lighting that was in the movie I think it was done pretty well especially when parts were filmed within dim lit scenes. I feel like we got to see all the characters & objects that we were supposed to see at the right time. I was happy with the scene that we got with Derek and his son and also Scott, I thought that was really cool. I also liked the camera angles and views that we got to see within the film. A thing that I can say is that I didn't find the Nogitsune as creepy as I did in the TV Show in season three.
By watching the movie I definitely feel like this isn't the end. I do feel like Jeff Davis has more of a story to tell us so I hope that Paramount+ allows him to share it with us. I also want to know unexplained questions that I have. After having time to think I do feel that it if they showed another supernatural creature that was new in this Movie near the end and for it to play out in the next movie if there is one would have been really cool.
For each film that I watch, I rate it out of 10 so for this am going to give it a 9.5. Remember this was what I thought about the Movie personally and I suggest that you give it a go for yourself.
