A Bold Exploration of Youth and Societal Expectations
22 March 2024
In "The Virgin of Highland Park," viewers are thrust into the turbulent world of Olivia, a teenager whose life takes an unexpected turn when she discovers she's pregnant despite her chastity. This film stands out as a bold examination of youth, identity, and the societal pressures that shape our lives. With a storyline that is as unsettling as it is insightful, the director crafts a narrative that is both a personal and societal commentary, infused with moments of 'magic' that blur the lines between reality and perception. The film's strength lies in its ability to challenge viewers, encouraging a dialogue between science and faith, reality and mysticism. Olivia's journey from conformity to self-determination is portrayed with a delicate balance of grit and grace, making "The Virgin of Highland Park" a compelling watch that questions the norms and celebrates the power of individual choice.

Excellent performances.

The Kiss List (2023)
9/10
a good movie to have a good time
30 November 2023
"The Kiss List" is a fun and fresh coming-of-age comedy that breathes new life into the typical high school romantic comedy genre.

One of the film's most striking aspects is its exceptional cast. The actors deliver performances that are not only believable but also deeply relatable, bringing each character to life with a unique charm and authenticity. Their portrayal of high school emotions - from the awkwardness of first love to the excitement of new relationships - resonates with audiences of all ages.

While the plot might seem familiar, the film's execution sets it apart. The director skillfully navigates through the storyline, infusing it with originality and a contemporary flair. The narrative unfolds in a way that is both entertaining and thought-provoking, keeping viewers engaged from start to finish.

Moreover, "The Kiss List" commendably showcases the newfound freedom of teenagers to explore and express their identities. In a departure from traditional high school movie stereotypes, the film allows its characters to break free from outdated norms, fostering an environment of acceptance and understanding. This aspect resonates deeply with the audience, especially the younger viewers who are in the midst of their formative years.

The film's inclusive approach extends beyond just the characters. It's reflected in the storyline, the dialogues, and the overall spirit of the movie. The director and writer deserve accolades for weaving together a narrative that not only entertains but also subtly educates and enlightens.

Really Fun
23 October 2022
I really enjoyed this film. It's fun, characters are on the verge of a nervous breakdown... lol. The plot is simple but I like the take on sexuality and gender identity.

Ines character is selfish and at the beginning is difficult to like her but if I'm honest I think it's because we are ready to accept man with this behavior but we are not still ready to accept the same in a woman. Hope this makes sense.

I really enjoyed the ensemble scenes, it's really funny to see so many characters entering, and leaving, and acting together. Each character has a really defined personality and that's a pleasure to see on screen.

Don't expect a very deep movie, just sit in the sofa and enjoy... A lot of laughs :)
