*FIGHTER (Film Review) -*

Absolutely Stunning, Stylish, Slick, Patriotic, Action-Packed and MUST WATCH!! Fighter is a clear winner by all means. Never before seen aerial shots, aerial action sequences and Airplanes buzzing in sky will propel you off fascinatingly. VFX and Special effects are so lifelike that everything happens in the sky looks so real. And above all Hrithik Roshan's charm and his acting will entice you completely. Hrithik looks so dashing, handsome and charismatic in the role of an Airforce Pilot. Deepika Padukone is another Squadron Leader Pilot of Airforce, and she too looks so brilliant, courageous and steals the show with some action-packed sequences she did. So Hrithik and Deepika, the lead pair, will blow your minds away with fitting performances; aptly and exceptionally well supported by Anil Kapoor, Karan Grover, Akshay Oberoi and Sanjeeda Shaikh. Rishabh Sawhney, the villain, has also done fabulous job and looks competent, dreadful and dangerous against the bunch of protagonists. Entire star cast has done a fabulous job leaving no stones unturned of their part.

The master mind behind this supremacy is Siddharth Anand, the Director, who has outstandingly directed this film. Midair actions are breathtaking but the story he thought of around is also praiseworthy. While you see incredible in-flight action sequences in the sky keeping you at the edge, you also feel an emotional storyline sealed with powerful dialogues, some sentimental moments and full of patriotism running at once providing base to all the actions. Full marks to the direction and script writing. Film wins in all the departments like it has fast and pacy screenplay, Hard-Hitting dialogues, Remarkable Music and Songs, Class Choreography and Sharp Editing.

Coming to the story then it is very interesting. The always exciting Indo-Pak tale; but this time the war happens in air. Won't give you any spoiler but the story has references of Pulwama Attack, The Air-Strike our Indian Airforce did in reply to that, Releasing few soldiers from their custody, Invasion to the LOC and POK. These all bring real patriotic feel while watching and you hear audience's claps and cheers time and again throughout while watching. I suggest you watch in 3D (like me) or in IMAX if you can because entertainment would be doubled then. I have enjoyed this film and found it exceptionally well made; would like to give 4 / 5 (🌟🌟🌟🌟) stars and call it a MUST WATCH. Go with your entire family and enjoy this spectacular, breathtaking, stunning and amazing film on a big screen.

*What I Liked Most? -* First time observed grand scale and lifelike aerial action sequences in Indian Cinema.

Dunki (2023)

Emotional Tale based on true events!
23 December 2023
*DUNKI (Film Review) -*

Undoubtedly and supremely 2023 belonged to the King of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan. Pathan, Jawan, Cameo in Tiger3 and now Dunki. Dunki is a decent family film full of comedy and emotions with unique storyline. It's all about illegal immigrants and the kind of hardship they face during their journey of Donkey Flight (id est, Dunki). At places, in the film, comedy makes audience laugh while emotions and sentiments fill their eyes with moisture. Film also gives a strong message to the people who wants to go to the abroad by hook or crook.

SRK is in completely different avatar than his previous mega-blockbusters this year. He plays a role of simple fun-loving north Indian guy brilliantly and looks very charming as always. Taapsee Pannu portrays herself as a brave and bold Punjabi Girl. Vikram Kochhar and Anil Grover both have done a decent job as her friends. While we see Boman Irani as an English Teacher, and Vicky Kaushal in very important role too. Entire star cast has acted very well in the film with the given script, but I felt direction wise this is the weakest film of Rajkumar Hirani. Comedy is good in parts but not that hilarious; and emotional scenes certainly bring moistures but fail to jolt audience.

Film is based on the real events. Story begins with Hardy who comes to the Punjab and meets Mannu and her friends. Mannu and her friends want to go to the London for better life and money. But since they are uneducated and poor, they don't get the visas despite trying hard. Looking at their poor conditions, problems, and earnest wish to travel UK; Hardy promises to help them to reach London. All of them decide to travel UK by land crossing countries borders illegally. Their journey was full of hardship, but bearing all the difficulties and harshness, they do manage to reach to the UK unlawfully. Now what happens thereafter forms the rest of the film. And story further becomes interesting when Hardy is deported to India back after a series of events.

Movie has a very distinctive story and it's a complete family entertainer which has laughter and some sentiments with a dash of patriotism. Music is very good, and songs are enjoyable. Screenplay could have been better in second half where it gets dragged. Before interval some of the scene sequences are indeed hilarious. SRK steals the show as usual, but Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal have also done a great job. However, RKH's direction is not so commendable as all the funny things shown are not entertaining and the film drags on with too much emotion in the second half. Here you would miss that crispness of his direction what we have seen his all previously directed films. SRK calls himself a soldier in the film but not a single time he has been shown doing military personnel. Moreover, the whole Dunki Journey from India to UK is depicted in super quick manner so it looks less eventful, and audience find it difficult to connect with. BGM is poor and hence emphatic scenes of the film fails to make much impact on the audience. I also found the film slightly outdated; had be released a decade ago perhaps!

Still overall I have liked this film for its novice subject, effective depiction of true incidents, SRK's splendid performance, Good Music, The message it conveys, Humorous comedy and fine acting of all the characters. As said, it's a complete family film so enjoy it with your family. Would like to give 3.5 / 5 (🌟🌟🌟💫) and call a decent watch.

*What I Liked Most? -* Vicky Kaushal's drunken scene when he explains everyone why he wants to go to the UK.

*P. S. -* 140 years ago there were no Visas for traveling to other countries! And now?

Tiger 3 (2023)

An Action Spectacular with No Story!
22 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
*TIGER 3 (Film Review) -*

This action thriller is strictly average with some superb actions and unexciting thrills. As always, its out and out Salman Khan's Show and he really rocks plus looks handsome too. His actions scenes and the aerial tricks he did are breathtaking and seems brilliant on screen. Katrina Kaif has less to do but she also has done some fine stunts on bikes and in bath towel. Besides these two we have Emraan Hashmi who has ruined the entire film with his flat acting and face. Great to see 90's actresses Revathi and Simran in pivotal roles. And then we have plenty of unknowns (strange faces) gets introduced and fades at different places which merely makes the story-telling complex.

Now let's come to the story! Where is it? There is NO story, only outstanding action and more action without any firm reason. Following the events of 'Tiger Zinda Hai', SalmanK (SK) and KatrinaK (KK) are framed as traitors by an ex-ISI agent EmraanH (EH). The prime mission is in exchange of their son from EH's clutches, SK and KK must steal a briefcase containing missile launch codes in Istanbul. Regarding this deceitful act from EH, he frames SK and KK as terrorists and traitors as they have stolen that briefcase, leading to SK imprisonment in Pakistan. Now in comes the KING, the RULER of Bollywood, *the SRK* as Pathaan being a savior to do an extensive cameo. Now what happens thereafter, and to see the *Hrithik Roshan* as Kabir of WAR in last frame, you got to go to the theatres! *(Apologies! But spoilers are revealed only to increase your enthusiasm towards film, LOL'z).*

Direction is very patchy and dispersed; with some strange faces and too many locations, that connection in story line is not maintained I felt. Screenplay is scattered as well where in film opens in 1999, then comes to the present day, takes reference from past two installments, and in between flashbacks couple of times. Better they have recapped past events from two prior Tigers at the beginning for valuable dots joining in this third installment. Dialogues are power packed and emphatic; but cast characters could have been written well in the script. Choreography, specifically action choreography, is exceptional and literally breathtaking. Many clap worthy action sequences and chases which keeps you on the edge. Camerawork is also marvelous. Just two songs but BGM is highly praiseworthy. Editing needed to be crisp as the film seems very long and all the actions happening on screen seem pointless at times.

So, in and all film has Superb Actions, Intense Acting, Spy Universe Aura, Breathtaking Scenes of Turkey and other countries shown, couple of cameos, those two nice songs, thrilling BGM, Amazing dialogues indeed and Salman's Power. But on the downside EH's expressionless acting, complex storyline, clumsy screenplay, some aimless actions, poorly written characters, no comedy at all, darkness all around and above all unexciting thrills makes this film dull and boring. From me it gets 2.5 / 5 (🌟🌟💫) ratings. Watch it for some hard-core stunts on big screen and if you are a die-hard SK's fan.

*What I Liked Most? -* The National Anthem by Kids at the end.

*P. S. -* Arijit Singh sings for Salman Khan for the first time ever in this film. The first instance where AJ has given voice to SK.

Jawan (2023)

Mega Blockbuster! Will give double the worth of your money.
14 September 2023
*JAWAN (2023) -*

I am sure you might have already watched it.. but if haven't yet then believe me; it's not a film, but a FESTIVAL so Celebrate it with yours. It's a MUST WATCH. A towering starcast, never seen before actions, power packed storyline, emphatic thrills and exceptionally well performances make sure you get the worth double of your spent money. It's a massively massy film and Paisa Wasool by all means.

Who am I to make comments for over 1000Cr persona, the *King Of Bollywood*, the SRK and his magnum opus performance! I am out of words for him here. Nayanthara is magnificent and stylish, Vijay Sethupathi is brilliant and dangerous in his villainous character, Deepika Padukone is beautiful and elegant, Sunil Grover is fair in his small role, there's a team of 6 ladies is strong and impressive AND film has an interesting Cameo too.

I am NOT going to reveal the storyline because it is such a crucial to be felt inside the theatre ONLY! It has many layers and one after another unfolds in captivating ways which keeps you mesmerized till the end. Also without mentioning any spoilers and keeping it short I would say; it's an out and out SRK's show! It's a pure Masala Film with all required spices like Huge production values, Outstanding Actions, Sensible Emotions, Excellent Music, Multi Layered Storyline, Spendid VFX, Enthralling BGM, Some Exceptional Acting, Stylish and Slick, Little Comedy and a dash of Patriotism.

Film is very entertaining and has everything you are expecting; and that too in south style. Yes! Atlee's direction has given the film a southern edge. It's a complete family package and can be enjoyed with kids and elders too. There's hardly anything I observed otherwise and I would like to rate Jawan 4 / 5 (🌟🌟🌟🌟). First half of the film is better than what comes after interval, plus climax contains less thrills and magnitude as compared to what has shown till then in the film (hence I've deducted one star too for the same). As said it's a compulsory watch and would offer much more than your anticipation.

*What I Liked Most? -* Shahrukh Khan in different avatars.

*P. S. -* Good To Go Girls? Ready Chief!

OMG 2 (2023)

Masterpiece and Magnificent!
17 August 2023
*OMG 2:* Sensitive, Subjective, Message oriented, on Sex Education, and Marvelous. It's a story of a father, devotee of Lord Shiva (Mahakal). One day his son is blamed for an immoral conduct in the school and is rusticated. Father realizes that his son has been a victim of misinformation and misguidance. He decides to plea a court case and fight against the system in legal manner.

Pankaj Tripathi has done an outstanding job in this film. His acting, comic timing, pure Hindi, dialog delivery, expressions and his innocence... everything astonishes the audience. Yami Gautam, as an opposition lawyer (in negative shades), is brilliant too. Her sensible arguments during court case opposite to Pankaj Tripathi seems interesting and bring the fun out at times. And Akshay Kumar's portrayal of Lord Shiva radiates a magnetic energy, forging an emotional connection that leaves an eternal mark. After long time AK has carried a brilliant yet charming performance to the fans expectations.

It's an amazing film with a fabulous screenplay. Description about the common misconception in today's society is shown so wonderfully and that too without making it sound vulgar. Full marks to the script writing for the same. Direction is commending, Story is very sensibly written, Music is appropriate, Comedy is hilarious, Subject is mature, and editing is crisp too. Film wins in all the cinematic aspects and keeps an upheld balance between the sensitivity and divinity of the subject. This one is not for kids, but certainly a must watch for everyone and specifically for all the parents. It too gets 4 / 5 (🌟🌟🌟🌟) from me and strongly recommended. It's impact is louder than it's BO Collection. Go and watch!

Gadar 2 (2023)
8/10
It's not a film, but a FESTIVAL!!
17 August 2023
*Gadar 2:* Power packed show of Sunny Deol and would surely bring you to that Gadar's golden era. The katha continues from where Gadar has ended. Those characters, songs, patriotism, music, dialogues, cinematography, anger, fight scenes, somewhat locations too and above all Tara Singh; everything has kept integral in part 2 and hence audience gets the same expected patriotic feel and fierce zeal. Lot many 'Hindustan Zindabad' types of intense and compelling dialogues are in part-2 and Sunny Paaji rocks completely in his Tara Singh avatar.

Utkarsh Sharma is an average because indeed he has got some emphatic (euphoric) scenes and dialogues in the film, but he could not elate well on those. Amisha Patel and Simrat Kaur look beautiful and have played their part fairly. Manish Wadhwa, the villain, has acted excellently and looks brutal indeed. He has not let the absence of Amrish Puri to take a hold and has acted ruthlessly well. Story could have offered something fresh to the audience and script could have written in a crisp way eliminating few songs.

Nevertheless overall, it's out and out Sunny Deol's show. It's a kind of film which should be watched in theatre, with family, and amongst full crowd to get the real feel of Tara Sing's roar. 4 / 5 (🌟🌟🌟🌟) from me to Gadar. Need not to see my ratings, just check it's BO collection and run!

Utter nonsense and totally intolerable film.
30 July 2023
*ROCKY AUR RANI KI PREM KAHANI - Film Review -*

Utter nonsense and totally intolerable film. It starts very badly and scene after scenes it keeps on degrading that badness till last frame. Jaya Bachchan looks like a mannequin of makeup, Dharmendra looks damn piteous (miserable) and Shabana Azmi has done lot of overacting. So all 3 seniors have been presented with undignified way alongside senseless Ranveer Singh and pretty but pointless Alia Bhatt. For rest worth not to mention as they all have done worst. Above all makers have made fun of old hindi cinema songs from start to end constantly, and they should get legally sue for the same. You can't present prestigious legacy of Indian Cinema in such a foolish/imbecile way I reckon. Sentiments of all old film songs lovers (like me) will gonna hurt for sure.

Where's the story (or appeal atleast)? Definitely it's not a family film but you can't watch it with anyone or not even alone! It's that much stupid I say. Moreover this torture is extensive (of nearly 3 hours) so it's you who needs to leave it from the middle because it won't leave you ever and would keep tormenting till your eyes are towards it. I might have not seen such a baseless and senseless film ever in Bollywood before than this. Music is somewhat pleasant but all bads here don't let that slight good to come forward. Obviously film gets a big ZERO (🔴) from me and review doesn't require anymore lines.

*What I Liked Most? -* The interval.

*P. S. -* KKBKKJ is way much better than this trauma! Watch it again than this KJ's injurious foolishness.

Adipurush (2023)

Simply Avoidable!
21 June 2023
*ADIPURUSH (2023) Film Review:*

Very bad, illogical, senseless, dark, and darkest at times. They call it's based on the Ramayana; but too many mistakes and wrong conceptualizations I observed while watching Adipurush. Prabhas looks flat and graceless (with no smile/charm at all) in the role of Lord Rama, Kriti Sanon doesn't look like Mata Sita and Sunny Singh as Laxman has no weight in the film. Only Saif Ali Khan has given strong performance in the role of Lankesh; but alas he looks like more of a Mughal Emperor than Ravan. So that casting is totally unfitting and to make it further horrible we see cartoon characters as Vali, Sugriva, Angad, Jambavan, Jatayu, etc.

No point of getting into the story because it is dark and after interval it becomes darkest. *Mentioning about certain mishaps then...*

  • Lanka is not of gold here, but they have portrayed like it is made up from charcoal.

  • Ravan's vehical is not Pushpak Vimanam, but it's animated and annoying bat.

  • Characters look like a Superheroes of Marvel rather ornamenting mythological.

  • Last 40 minutes just cartoon characters encounter which gives headache to the audience.

  • Whole film is shot in closed space; not a single scene on real locations it seems.

  • Hanuman, Indrajeet and Vibhishana speak indecent dialogues.

  • There's a scene where Lankesh feeds meat to his bat (vehicle) which is a pathetic scene.

  • Throughout Ravan's character looks stonger than Rama; but in the end Rama kills Ravan like a rabbit, in seconds.

  • Romantic song between Ram-Sita.

  • Ravan's snake bath scene.

  • Certain terms are named based on Ramayana and some are not. For example, Laxman Rekha is called Satya Rekha in film.

  • And blunders list goes on...

Coming to the cinematic aspects then Direction is very bad, Story/Script has written without examining mythological facts, In the name of Cinematography we see dimness, Babyish VFX and CGI Work, Dialogues are very poor and badly written such that none of the dialogues give goosebumps in this so called epic and the film is longer so should have been cut by 30 minutes (specifically the prolonged last fight).

Now coming to the positives then pre-interval it is tolerable. Some of the 3D effects are enjoyable by kids. Ajay-Atul's music is outstanding and 'Jai Shree Ram' song sounds enthralling indeed. Background Score is also good but becomes needlessly loud during climax. Devdatta Nage as Hanuman and Saif Ali Khan as Ravan leave their mark with powerful performances. Overall, I did not like this film though have watched it in 3D; and would rate it as 2/5 (🌟🌟). Simply Avoidable!

*What I Liked Most? -* Music and Songs.

*P. S. -* If you watch it in 3D then you would sleep well in the theatre because you will have black glasses on and the screen will also be dark most of the time.

Bad Direction and Poor Script Writing!
24 April 2023
*KISI KA BHAI KISI KI JAAN (2023) -*

It's Salman Khan's family entertainer with stunning action, superb styles, large scale drama, and brutal conflicts... but wait! These all reverses against poor script writing, weak storyline and ineffective supporting star cast. Film has one and only Salman Khan, Pooja Hegde, Venkatesh, Jagapathi Babu and dozens of newcomers in supporting cast. It also shows known looks of Bhumika Chawla, Satish Kaushik, Rohini Hattangadi, Tej Sapru, Jassie Gill and Bhagyashree; but they have been used as fillers merely to increase the number of characters.

In the movie Salman Khan (Bhaijaan) is a violent man, who lives happily with his brothers and uses violence to settle disputes with anyone. Since childhood, he decided not to marry to take care of his 3 brothers. And he also hopes that his brothers too do not marry so that no one comes to disrupt their lives. However, in forced circumstances Bhaijaan falls for the Bhagyalakshmi (PoojaH) and develops intimacy with her. Later Bhaijaan gets to know that PoojaH's brother (Venkatesh) and her family are in trouble due to their past rivalry with Nageshwar (JagapathiB) and sets out to protect them. Now will Bhaijaan be able to save that family from goons and what was that past rivalry form the crux of this film.

The story of the film is very feeble without any depth; and it's written badly as well such that all looks scattered and not a single character has built up progressively. Still first half of the film is entertaining with the whistling entry scene, comedy, fights, music, and romance. But second half literally torments the audience with the kind of events and incidents that is out of minds. Plus, film has 8 songs and 3-4 are literally seemed forced ones which halts the pace.

Overall, I liked the splendid entry scene of SK, Actions in the first half, Few Songs, The family values shown and Beauty of PoojaH. After interval I got bored with the dragged scene sequences, one pathetic dream sequence, songs without reason and actions/fighting without pretense. With that I would like to rate it as 2.5 / 5 (🌟🌟💫). Watch at your own risk!

*What I Liked Most? -* The entry scene and that metro train action sequence.

*P. S. -* In the end, since they knew audience would not whistle or cheer at all, actors themselves piteously started whistling and cheering in the film. Sigh!

Not Entertaining and Very Boring! Disaster..
5 April 2023
*BHOLAA (Film Review) -*

Very bad and completely avoidable. All this film has is darkness, boredom and only 3 scene sequences. Story has no zeal where in one man wants to meet his daughter and in the end they meet as expected. Film stars all talented actors like Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Deepak Dobriyal, Sanjay Mishra, Gajraj Rao, Kiran Kiran Kumar and Amala Paul; but none of them has anything special to do.

Majorly film has just 3 locations; Old mension like Police Station, Never ending Road and Temple without walls with Shiva's big statue. And in an all with just 3 story tracks where in Truck runs on a road, Goons attack on Police Station and climax fighting at that temple. Moreover the pity is; depicted actions and clashes are just because Police have seized crores of cocaine from those goons. Makers couldn't even think of any strong base behind shown actions and fights.

Amla Paul's 2 minutes have no dialogues, Gajraj Rao just sits on the chair throughout, Sanjay Mishra is merely there to get trapped inside Police Station, Kiran Kumar has 1 ineffective scene, AjayD and Tabu have mindless actions to perform and they are on never-ending journey by road. Only Deepak Dobariyal is noticeable and makes sense in the film. I didn't like this film and you too please avoid. Grabs 1 / 5 (🌟) from me.

*What I Liked Most? -* Nothing! Still just to write then Item Song, Deepak Dobariyal's part and that small little girl.

*P. S. -* Only AjayD and SanjayM have changed clothes once. Rest all are in same from start to end. They don't have budget for clothes and locations; and they have planned a sequel of this boredom! 😜

Cliche Story, Predictive Twist and Happy Ending!
13 March 2023
*TU JHOOTHI MAIN MAKKAAR (2023) - Film Review:*

An urban take on the relationships where Mom, Dad, Siss, Kids and all are very modern in family; and a guy who runs break-up agency, and then a career-oriented girl who wants to work and live as per her wish even after marriage. Film is full of modernity, stylish and refreshing in parts; but the cliché predictive storyline disappoints!

Movie has colors, huge star cast, two leads showing off their spectacular beauties, landscape outdoors and beaches, scattered comedy scenes and superb music. However, storytelling is tedious, screenplay after interval is lame and film is indeed long! Two guys who runs a break-ups agency and helps couple to break their relationships. While helping others in getting out from the relationships; on odd day one guy gets a call from his lady to shoot their own break-up without knowing that his guy himself is settling all these. The fun happens thereafter and how everything emotionally connects to the guy's family forms the crux of the film.

Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor both looks charming on screen, have acted very well and their chemistry is endearing. Direction is maladroit and some scenes have been dragged a lot. Music is outstanding and all the songs are superb. BGM is also great and complements the scenes. Screenplay could have been better, and film's length needed to be reduced. Overall, I liked the romantic first half and found second half boring with artificial sentiments and melodrama. As I said, film is refreshing and entertaining in parts, but has a very predictive twists, cliché storyline and happy ending finally. My rating to the film is 2.5 / 5 (🌟🌟💫) for some enjoyable comedy and superb songs. One time watch I would say!

*What I Liked Most? -* Songs; and how both the leads flourishing beauty on screen.

*P. S. -* What do you expect from Luv Ranjan's film? Answer: Senseless modern-day romance and plenty lip-locks!

Pure Mass Cinema with full of entertainment!!
27 February 2023
*SELFIEE (2023) - Film Review:*

Selfiee is a remake of original Malyalam Movie 'Driving Licence'. I haven't seen the original one, so I enjoyed this film very much. It's a wonderful movie with hilarious comedy, strong performances, powerful scene sequences, emphatic dialogues, and tremendous background score. So Selfiee is a wholesome dose of entertainment with actions; and pure fun to watch.

Akshay Kumar's stardom shown in the film is simply splendid and on a higher scale. While Emraan Hashmi in his totally different character here and plays the role of a driving licence inspector. Along with these two leads one more noticeable actor is Abhimanyu Singh, whose comic timing is apt and literally steals the show in all the scenes of his part. Film also has two actresses Nushrratt Bharuccha and Diana Penty merely to add some charm; they have very less to do against the two mighty.

Very interesting story of a fan and the superstar sat in the backdrop of Bhopal. EmraanH is a die-hard fan of superstar AkshayK. He watches all his films with great zeal and has a fandome wall in his home with full of AkshayK's posters. He wishes to have one selfie with the superstar. Now there is a need of Superstar's driving licence to shoot the climax of one of his films. Regarding that he visits the RTO and finds the licence inspector as his fan. However just one misunderstanding between RTO Inspector and that Superstar turns out ugly and they became rivals of one-another. Now will the fan get a selfie with superstar OR Will superstar get his driving licence to complete his halted film? - Forms the crux.

The film has an excellent story, ribs tickling comedy, a clash between the two lead actors without any nasty motive, action packed scene sequences and well written dialogues. Background score is really thumping and loud which provides the required thrills as well. I loved this film and would strongly recommend to all of you. Go and watch with your family; even kids will like it for sure. It's a mass movie and my ratings to the film is 4 / 5 (🌟🌟🌟🌟). The faceoff between the two is outstanding throughout.

*What I Liked Most? -* The learners test for driving license and the contest on questions.

*P. S. -* If you were speeding in car across the highway - a cow, a man and a dog suddenly came in front of you, who would you choose to kill?

Blockbuster!!
26 January 2023
*PATHAAN - Film Review:*

Stylish, slick and action-packed film; in one work it's a 'Blockbuster'. Film has actions, thrills, bit of suspense and gripping storyline. SRK is back with a bang and has made his fans delighted, a long wait proven worthy. John Abraham looks solid in his negative role and DeepikaP looks stunning, and she has also done some actions in the film along with flourishing her beauty. All the fight sequences and chases are indeed marvelously picturized plus they are very captivating. Full marks to the VFX and CGI as well with that.

It's a spy thriller which expands YRF's spy universe and offers much more than what we have seen in the trailer. Actions are of next level and meets to the Hollywood standards certainly. Film also has Dimple Kapadia and Ashutosh Rana in significant roles. It's a family film and has nothing controversial too; instead, this film would ignite the flame of patriotism in audience's hearts. Not just because of SRK the film is huge; it's actually a complete showbiz package with wonderful performances from lead trio.

Story is very exciting and riveting where in Jim (JohnA) leads Outfit X; a private terrorist group decides to hit vengeance against India. They malevolently plan to attack the president of India at a scientific conference in Dubai. However, Pathaan, a courageous RAW agent, tries to stop Jim's plans and stands tall against them. From here the chase of cat and mouse starts, they travel different countries, and their rivalry remains continue. There are chase sequences of Bikes, Trains, Planes, Helicopters, Ice Skating, Trucks, Cars and of what NOT! But believe me all of them are really enjoyable, fascinating and captivating.

Film is a wholesome entertainer because it has action, patriotism, soft wit, remarkable cameo of Salman Khan and above all the star power of Shahrukh Khan. Story by Siddharth Anand is powerful and his direction is also power-packed here like his previous few films. Characters are nicely written with apt dialogues. Only 2 songs in the film but BGM is commanding. Fast moving screenplay ensures that there are no dull moments even for a while and film feeds throughout with action-packed sequences one after another. Seems like 'Pathaan' has revitalized Bollywood! I have thoroughly enjoyed the film and would go for the repeat watch as well. Overall, it's a Must Watch and I would rate it as 4.5 / 5 (🌟🌟🌟🌟💫).

*What I Liked Most? -* Twist at the interval.

It's a romantic drama of perfectly imperfect couple and the challenges they both face at different stages of their life. Lead pair is formed by Raunak Kamdar and Deeksha Joshi; both have acted really well with the right kind of expressions considering depending scene sequences. Film is good in parts! Like when it starts, we feel less connected; till interval it is boring; after interval it becomes interesting and ends in remarkable way. So, it's the second half where film leaves it's mark. Besides fine later half, film also has great music and songs. In supporting cast film has Netri Trivedi, Vishal Shah and Dharmesh Vyas; they have small but significant roles and they have fared well.

As said the story is cliché! It's about a working couple and the kind of encounters they face in married life because of their diverse career paths. Two individuals fall in love and get married. Like all couples, both start giving momentum and importance to their respective professions. But this gradually creates a gap between them which becomes unbearable. Things get so bad that they finally decide to file for divorce. Now what happens next? Can they both get back together? How? All these forms the crux of the film.

Darshan Trivedi's direction is good and has given the film a melancholic touch. Screenplay could have been better as film seems very slow and dull till interval. Music is the plus point and songs are outstanding. All the songs are sung by Bollywood Singers like Amit Trivedi, Vishal Dadlani, Benny Dayal etc so all of them are melodious and superb. Dialogues are praiseworthy and cinematography too as locations of Pune, Bangalore, Mumbai, Ahmedabad are attractively filmed! I specifically liked the Deeksha Joshi's acting and how she could bring different expressions of joy, stress, anger, pleasure, anguish, hate, confidence, motherhood, etc via his role. Overall considering good second half, fine performances, and fabulous music; I would like to rate this film as 3 / 5 (🌟🌟🌟). Not a family film, remember.

*What I Liked Most? -* "Tu Nathi Ke Tu Chhe" Song. In fact, all the songs.

*P. S. -* 60% dialogues are in English, and you call it a Gujarati Film!? Sad.

Kutch Express (2023)

Excellent Film, Powerful Performances, Sperb Storyline!!
9 January 2023
*KUTCH EXPRESS (Gujarati):*

A very strong, unique and meaningful storyline; Class acting and dialogue delivery by Manasi Parekh and Bollywood actress Ratan Pathak; Heart-touching and marvelous dialogues penned by Ram Mori; Soulful yet peppy music by Bollywood composer Sachin-Jigar; Scenic Kutch beauty & backdrops; and delightful cinematography make this film definitely a MUST WATCH. Ratna Pathak and Manasi Parekh in the roles of "Saans/Bahu" respectively steal the show. They both have lifted this whole film and their acting is of top-notch. Both are excellent and have imbibed their roles thoroughly to create an emotional impact on the spectators. Film also has an army of other talented actors like Dharmendra Gohil, Darsheel Safary, Viraff Patel, Heena Varde, Reeva Racch, Bhumika Barot, Denisha Ghumra, Kaushambi Bhatt, etc. And all of them have poured themselves to the film brilliantly. So apt star cast and hence the movie looks brilliant on screen.

Film has comedy, romance, colors, rustic beauty of Kutch, emotions, excellent music, many eye catchy moments, powerful yet culturally intimate dialogs and outstanding music; so it's a complete package of entertainment. Story is all about a family of four consisting Husband, His Mother, Housewife and a Son who mostly stays outside due to the studies. Now husband secretly runs an affair with his charming officemate. His wife and mother come to know about it through the people of village. Both decide to get that man out from this situation and bring back their lost happiness. However, the things go other way and situation worsens. Film also has an interesting and entertaining character of street artist who aids support to the family. Now what will finally happen in this confusion; reveals the film.

Film has high production value, Very well directed, Story is impactfully written, as mentioned above every dialogue is emotive, Songs of the film are also very beautiful and audience would like to hum for sure. Cinematrography is vivid and with that each frame looks so vibrant and colorful. The film is good in every way, still Darsheel Safari (Taare Zameen Par) did not seem to be fitting in the film. The big talks from his small mouth don't really seem effective and conclusive. He looks very small to the role offered and miscasted. That girl (Mamta) having affairs with father and earlier had with son as well doesn't seem a convincing matter. Another thing I found odd was in a well-paced film unexpectedly the nest of a happy and pleasant family gets shattered in the end. Plus, the most culprit man receives no reprimand or rebuke from anybody and remains engrossed in his fun; seems unusual and very strange! Nevertheless, mostly the film proves to be a winner in all cinematic aspects. I have enjoyed it completely and would like to rate it as 4 / 5 (🌟🌟🌟🌟). Go and watch with your family!

*What I Liked Most? -* Manasi Parekh in that tiffin sequence.

*P. S. -* Did I forget to mention about SISOTI GANG? You see their awesomeness in theatres now 😊 Jai Ramapir!

Medal (2022)
7/10
Inspiring and Motivating
12 December 2022
*MEDAL (GUJARATI) -*

Film depicts how a true teacher should be, it inspires us to see good sides in the student instead of the bad, it explains the importance of medals in life and prayers in school and film also covers some social issues and with all these Medal is truly a wonderful cinema. Another special thing about Medal is that there are many actors in this film and all of them are well-known and of top notch. The lead pair of the film forms with Jayesh More and Kinjal Rajpriya; alongwith Hemang Dave, Akash Zala, Vaishakh Bhai, Chetan Daya, Shaunak Vyas, Prapti Ajwalia, Nisarg Trivedi, Deepen Rawal, Archan Trivedi and Bhai Bhai fame Arvind Vegda in a special role. Names of so many talented actors are enough to provide worth of your money. There are also some children, as school students, in the film and they entertain us well. Film has comedy, emotions, tragedy, actions, sharp dialogues and all these with a great message that gives a worthy lesson to today's children and society.

Coming to the story then, a teacher who can get a job with a high salary anywhere, but to achieve a goal, he chooses to work as a teacher in a small village called 'Timli'. In this village school nothing were going methodical and even students are not that serious behind study. This teacher tries hard to run everything systematically in school and realizes those children are good in sports. Even though everyone is against this teacher, he decides to make the children participate in the state level competition 'Khel Mahakumbha' and resonates to get the school a medal. Now will the children of this village be able to bring medals? What is the importance of medals and hard work in a student's life? And what was the main purpose of teacher behind selecting teaching in this village? To know all these you have to watch Medal.

Jayesh More has played a wonderful role of a teacher. He has assimilated his role and given an excellent performance. Maulik Nayak in the role of Pattawala (Peon) entertains with his unique comedy and dialogue-delivery. Renowned comedy actors like Hemang Dave & Chetan Daiya are seen playing gray-shades negative roles in this film and both of them are powerful. Akash Zala does a remarkable job in his small role of driver; and all the child actors (Bhavya, Arya, Karan, etc.) dazzle & sizzle on screen. Having said that, the film is very good with excellent acting by every actor, great story, strong script plus writing and l commendable dialogues. However, the film might felt a bit slow and long. The sports and competitive sports preparation scenes in the film could have been shot more effectively I felt. Medal for me is a message oriented, nice family film and kids/students will love it very much and they will be inspired and learn from it. I would like to rate this movie as 3.5 / 5 (🌟🌟🌟💫). Definitely enjoyable!!

*What I Liked Most? -* Two parallel tracks of Jayesh More and Vaishakh Bhai, Arvind Vegda's DJ Snake entry & Maulik Nayak's tempting explanation on Totha Party!

*P. S. -* The film was initially made as a Web Series but after seeing the final version makers decided to get it released in theatres.

Fine and Inspiring Family Film
12 December 2022
*UUNCHAI (2022) -*

Few aged friends take a trek to the Everest Base Camp (EBC-Nepal), to accomplish their friend's last wish. A naive climbing then becomes personal, emotional, and mystical journey as they battle their physical limitations (by being old) and recognize the true meaning of self-determination. Film has a very talented actors army like Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Danny, Boman Irani, Parineeti Chopra, Neena Gupta, Sarika and Nafisha Ali. Need not to say that all of them are great and have lifted this Rajshri Production's venture greatly as well.

Barjatyas are known for making large scale family entertainers! And Uunchai is also a family drama which revolves around friendship of senior citizens. Story is all about friends amongst whom one dies and rest all to fulfill his last wish decides to climb EBC. All of them have zeal, potential, firm motive and wish of accomplishment this task, but alongside limitations and difficulties. How they old aged completes this against all odds is the crux of this film.

Film has light comedy, drama, family emotions, friendship stories, sentiments, catchy dialogues, some real mountaineering, and scenic beauty of Everest. Yes! Amit Trivedi's music is outstanding and literally flows with the film. Songs are hummable and likable. Film is long and at times slow so screenplay could have been better here. Through sharp editing film also could have been cut shorted a bit coz it is nearly of 3 hours. But overall, it's a good watch and parents/grandparents would like it for sure. Take your family along and I would like to rate it as 3.5 / 5 (🌟🌟🌟💫).

*What I Liked Most? -* Anupam Kher and his comic-timing throughout.

Bhediya (2022)

Hilarious Fun and Great VFX/CGI
12 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
*BHEDIYA - Film Review:*

Begins with 3 friends who travel to Arunachal Pradesh regarding one Development Project of constructing roads. And guess what - Amid dense jungle one night werewolf (they call it 'Vishanu') bites on the butt of VarunD and thereafter he becomes a shape-shifter. He starts shifting into Wolf during nights and kills people brutally. His friends, unaware of all these, try to keep him in control but VarunD as a BHEDIYA is ferocious and danger. To know the tier of Vishanu and Bhediya and why were they killing Villegers brutally in Jungle you must watch this horror comedy.

A very good watch and bangs a point that resounds so right in this world of concrete! A horror-comedy which has nearly zero horror and lungs-cracking hilarious comedy. Humor is very rational and truly entertaining. Varun Dhawan as a shape-shifter has acted intensely, looks stylish and lifts the show with his enactment. Deepak Dobriyal, Abhishek Banerjee, Paalin Kabak and Varun Dhawan, these four, bring all the fun and thrills on screen with their apt comic timing and solid performances. Kriti Sanon has done a fair job and she is decent.

Direction and making of this film are commendable, Specifically VFX/CGI Effects are brilliant, and they look great in 3D watching, Dialogues are very witty and the usage of 'pure Hindi' makes them hilarious. Songs are beautiful too and few numbers are rocking. BGM is thrilling and Screenplay is spellbinding. All these make BHEDIYA a very entertaining film. I enjoyed it with family and would like to give it 3.5 / 5 (🌟🌟🌟💫). Recommend to you all for sure; kids would enjoy it more and worth watching in 3D.

*What I Liked Most? -* That shape-shifter scene of VarunD and "Baaki sab theek hai..." Song.

Unique Storyline - Brilliantly Executed - Great Watch
10 December 2022
*Film Review - BHAGWAN BACHAVE (Gujarati)*

Something unique, marvelous, and so nicely executed on silver screen. Film has Suspense, Thrills, Lungs-Cracking Comedy, Great Acting, Emotions, Values of Friendship and above all an excellent plot with a message. Jhinal Belani and Bhaumik Sampat, the lead duo, are also the Producers, Directors, and Writers of this film. Kudos to both for touching this subject of Banking Domain and making a film on! So many responsibilities on their shoulders and these two have ticked all the boxes indeed fittingly. Film also has renowned star cast of actors like Raunaq Kamdar, Muni Jha, Mehul Buch, Bhavini Jani, Hemang Dave, Prem Gadhavi, Anurag Prappana, Ojas Rawal and Vaisakh Ratnaben; a fun fair of all talented actors and you really enjoy this laughter ride, believe me.

A super rich persona makes a will on the names of three strangers and designates them as the successors of all the wealth, palatial house and remains. Those 3, dwelling initially on cloud nine, later discover in what kind of big mess they got caught. Why were those 3 strangers chosen? How come they got trapped? And what was the reason behind? All these forms suspense, hilarious comedy, crux and make this film a great watch.

All 3 Leads - JhinalB as Credit Card and Loan Agent, MuniJ as Bank Manager and BhaumikS as Recovery Agent - have acted superbly and their comic timing is amazing. JhinalB literally steals the show with her grace, simplicity, innocence, and expressions. In small roles MehulB leaves his imprints and RaunaqK seemed fair. BhaviniJ as a mother looks emphatic and apt. HemangD and PremG have also done a fine job as they add more humor with their parts.

Overall, I have liked this film very much and certainly it wins in all the cinematic aspects too, except Music. Direction is Best, Script/Story is very interesting, Writing is Superb, Cinematography is Vivid, Dialogues are wonderful, and Editing is sharp. Film is really enjoyable and the message it gives is actually eyes-opener. It's a superb family film and grabs 4 / 5 (🌟🌟🌟🌟) from me. Go and watch!

*What I Liked Most? -* Laziness shown for JhinalB's character; and that entry scene where pen falls off and she doesn't pick.

*P. S. -* We know that Banking Agents lure the common man in cards, loans and so-called lucrative schemes; watch this film to know the aftermath.

Drishyam 2 (2022)
6/10
Same as Malyalam, Not a single change in Original Script/Story
21 November 2022
A well made remake and film succeeds to enthrall audience for sure. Primely it's a remake however sadly a scene to scene copy and also shot / filmed at very similar locations without any single change in original script! So those who have already seen Drishyam 2 of southern industry wouldn't find any newness. But yes those who haven't seen original would find this film exceptional and enjoy all the twists and turns more jubilantly. Film also maintains the seriousness towards it's storyline and makers have not added any unwanted spices which is good.

Ajay Devgan, Akshay Khanna, Tabu, Shriya Saran and entire star cast has done a fabulous job on screen. AjayD looks rock solid with his acting & AkshayK steals the show with his killing expressions and dialogues. Tabu, ShriyaS and Ishita Dutta have made their presence felt with superb performances. Specifically ShriyaS dominates the emotional scenes by bringing the right kind of expressions on face. So casting is very apt here.

Coming to the storyline then film shows the whole recap of first part in title credits and the same case reopens thereafter as Tabu & her husband RajatK visits India to perform some rituals for their son's death. AkshayK takes the charge and with his brilliance and aid from an eye-witness he finds out that body buried inside police station. He catches AjayD's family and tortures them inside prison and get the confession out. Now will AjayD be able to save himself and his family or not forms the crux of the film.

As I said before, the script is kept unchanged, scene sequences are identical and film progresses in very similar way. Nevertheless film wins in all other cinematic aspactilike Dialogues, BGM, Screenplay, Direction, etc. I also liked the two songs and off the beat music of DSP here. Overall film offers nothing new as compared to the original and I would like to give it 3 / 5 (🌟🌟🌟) to it.

*What I Liked Most -* The Chess Scene (Entry Scene of Akshay Khanna)

Very Good before interval, Misfires thereafter 😔
15 November 2022
*VAAHLAM JAAO NE (Gujarati):*

It's a colorful family film with good music and laughter. A comedy, which is very good before interval and misfires thereafter. The film includes huge star cast of renowned actors like Pratik Gandhi, Deeksha Joshi, Tiku Talsania, Sanjay Goradia, Jayesh More, Kinjal Pandya, Ojas Rawal and Kavin Dave. All of them are Gujarati Giants and Few of them are also famous in Bollywood; so, their appearances make the film watchable. Lead pair could have been better with acting; however, they are comedians who run the show and make audience laugh with their act and expressions.

Film is the story of an odd pair where guy is frustrated with girl's craziness behind fashion and designing weird clothes. Moreover, such bizarre clothes designed by her she tries out on that guy and forces him to wear them while going out. If guy goes against that then she attempts suicide immaturely and starts annoying guy with such mad acts. One day girl's father visits the town, who wants to see that guy, and put forward wedding proposal with guy's parents. Amidst all this drama, the boy asks his friends to become his parents and meet the girl's father. When this roleplay is going on, few other friends also come there being that boy's daddy and finally his real mom and dad comes there too. These whole chaos creates laugh riot. Now, how will the guy reveal to girl's father about his real parents? Would that boy and a girl be able to marry or not? You should watch the movie to get the answer of these questions.

The humor in the film is good and overall film succeeds in appealing the audience. Specifically, before interval the story is well constructed, people laugh a lot and have fun watching things going on the screen. But after the interval, there is no substance in the film and all the attention gets lost. Even the comedy scenes thereafter start to feel pathetic, and the audience doesn't get any laughs in second half. However, dialogues, music, songs choreography are likeable. Film has entertainment in parts and with that I would like to rate it as 2.5 / 5 (🌟🌟💫). A fun ride which is enjoyable till half and thereafter it passes through the tunnel of tedium and ends weirdly.

*What I Liked Most? -* Jayesh More as Michael Jackson and Kinjal Pandya as Madonna; and their hilariously wonderful dance steps in that song.

An Excellent Family Film with Fine Story!
15 November 2022
*CHABUTRO (GUJARATI) -*

An excellent family film! From the first scene it grabs attention of audience through its magical cinematography and that magic remains continued till last scene. The beauty of Chicago and Ahmedabad Heritage is brilliantly captured and hence the film looks so eye pleasing from beginning to end. Raunaq Kamdar and Anjali Barot (Scam 1992 fame) have acted remarkably well and holds the charm. Both of them look so real (natural) and their chemistry on screen is mesmerizing. Raunaq has already made a fine impression in audience's hearts via few of his last successful films; and here too he has given his best. Anjali Barot shines out with her expressions, acting and natural dialogues delivery. Senior artists like Dharmesh Vyas, Chhaya Vora and Annapurna Shukla have also done a fine and fitting job from their part.

The story of the film is quite simple, but it's been portrayed on the screen in very attractive and interesting way. The guy works and lives up to his dreams in US Chicago is forced to move back to Ahmedabad because of some VISA Issues. After returning to Ahmedabad, he is observed keen in anticipation to go back to America again because he doesn't like the life here. His father wants him to join his family business and he has his own visions to achieve. Amid all these he meets with a girl, an architect student, who is obsessed with an Old Ahmedabad City and has an interest of maintaining the prosperity of rich heritage and culture of the city. Now will there be any crush between two people with different mindsets? Will the boy go back to Chicago? And will the guy join his family business or would peruse his own dreams? Answering all such questions, this film is worth enjoying on a big screen.

Story is common but very well written and its execution is magnificent. Direction and Script Writing is highly praiseworthy for the scene sequences which are marvelously crafted and shot. Screenplay is interesting and Cinematography is just WOW; and with that film has become an enormous visual experience which grabs the audience attention. Music is very good, and all the songs sounds to blend and fit well with the storyline. Editing is crisp and film is of just two hours. Dialogues are smartly written and appropriate to the new generation. I liked the film very much and would like to rate it as 4 / 5 (🌟🌟🌟🌟). Simple is beautiful and that's what it is. Go and enjoy with your full family; even kids would love it as the film also has a cute dog 'Buddy'!

*What I Liked Most? -* Annapurna Shukla in the role of a grandmother; very traditional, cute yet modern.

*P. S. -* The dog 'Buddy' in the film utters too and his VO is given by Malhar Thakar.

A MASTERPIECE! LAST FILM SHOW
25 October 2022
A masterpiece and picturesque cinematic treat to the audience. The film is already selected as an official entry from India for the 95th Oscars Academy Awards and genuinely it deserves that supreme level. Every frame of the film is amazingly artistic and gives the best allure to the eyes. Pan Nalin's attempt of making a film which is based on the cinema is highly praiseworthy and its execution is simply brilliant. This movie will take the audience to that nostalgia where films were being projected via projectors on screen and two reels/spools of each film got distributed to the theatres in box.

Film has a backdrop of village and there is one ambitious child who wants to be a film maker when he will grow up. Watching films is his only passion and for that he even bunks school. His father who runs a tea-stall doesn't like this; but the child is adamant and dreams only cinema. With his gang he finds one Projectionist and befriends him so that he can watch movies from the Projection Room. He also gets to see how films are showcased via Projectors and then he feels sheer urge to learn and implement whole mechanism behind this by his own childlike ways. However there comes a day when digital projection of films takes over the traditional ways and how that would impact to this Child and the Projectionist forms the crux of the film.

Casting of the film is very suitable. All the actors look very natural (raw) and they have acted superbly. Lead child artist Bhavin Rabari is excellent and delivers engaging performance. Bhavesh Shrimali also outshines in the role of Projectionist. Dipen Raval and Richa Meena are appealing; specifically, Richa Meena as mother, steals the show with her alluring cooking. There are some more child artists in the cast as well, and all of them make their presence felt worthy.

The whole story, frame by frame, is splendidly shown on the screen. The lush green village and that 80s-90s period have been presented in the film so well that we indeed slip into that time. Direction is intense and different anecdotes of story are astoundingly picturized. Cinematography is such beautiful that at times we even forget to blink our eyes. The script is very strongly written; despite the film is simple, it completely holds the audience via its storytelling, dialogues, and apt background score. Everything is glorious pertain to the film and which makes it a MUST WATCH. I was able to relate myself to the film a little more because I have lived the tales depicted in the film. As said, it's a cinematic treat which is beautiful, striking, emotional, and engrossing too! Film grabs all the stars from me 5 / 5 (🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟). Run and watch this in cinema!

What I Liked Most? - The last scene inside train which I don't want to reveal here.

P. S. - The film is also a semi-autobiography of director Pan Nalin.
