John Wick (2014)
This movie will never get old.
John Wick is one of those films that I will be able to rewatch countless times for the rest of my life, it's just a timeless classic.
Good storyline. An ex hitman coming out of retirement to hunt down a gang of crooks who not only stole his car, but also killed his puppy (a gift from his late wife)
Great fighting scenes, followed by even greater gun fight scenes. From people having there necks snapped, to an entire entourage of body guards being wiped out by Johns marksman skills, this movie has it all.
John Wick also gives off a god like aura in this film. From the enemies he's hunting being afraid of him, to fellow assassins all turning their heads and staring at him, that all just solidifies how feared of a hitman he is & really gets you intrigued into him as a character.
Going to have to give this a 10/10.
Road House (2024)
its... DECENT!
What is all the online hate about this film? I've constantly been seeing all over the internet about how bad this film is but.... It's decent?!
The CGI was a bit choppy in 3 scenes I noticed: The first fight scene with post malone, the scene where dalton was hit by the truck and it fell off the bridge into the water, & lastly the yacht explosion scene in the middle of the ocean
Conors acting was exaggerated, sure, but it fit his character SO well. It was like he was coked out of his mind the whole film, it really gave his character that "CRAZY" aura. For his first film, he did a decent job.
The storyline was a bit corny though, for a film being 2 hours long, you could have made it a bit more interesting rather than the usual "drug bad guys want to take over" kind of movie.
But apart from that, I enjoyed it. I feel like a lot of the online hate is just coming from Conor McGregor haters, I mean some of the hate reviews I read were so blown out of proportion...
SOLID 7/10.
Fall (2022)
Not as bad as I expected it to be
Honestly, at first I thought this movie would suck, but it's not that bad... It's as entertaining as you could make a movie consisting of it 98% of it being shot ontop of a radio tower.
A few things don't really make sense in the movie. One being that at the end of the movie, the final surviving girl just all of a sudden gets the idea to rappel down to the satellite dish... Where was that idea when the blonde girl decided to go down earlier in a much more dangerous way, resulting in her death?
The rope they are also using during this movie is comically thin. It should have snapped at so many points in the movie, but somehow just withheld so much weight and straining. Could've at least used a bit more a thick rope to give a believable appeal.
Some cheesy/cringe acting scenes at the start of the movie, but from the moment they get stuck on top of the radio tower, it is suspenseful to some degree.
They did have a cool little twist added near the end though when it was revealed the blonde girl had actually fallen off and died, but the brunette girl was just hallucinating and imagining she was still alive.
5/10. Not bad.
The Neighbor (2017)
CRINGE acting, awkward scenes, completely pointless & boring movie
I don't even know where to start.. I wish I could go back in time and get the 1 hour & 45 minutes back that I wasted giving this film a chance.
William Fichtner is a fantastic actor, but this film made him look so terrible.
Awfully slow movie.. Multiple scenes where actors are just staring at each other for 5-10 seconds without saying anything, as well as it adding the most awkward underlying feeling.. Cringed multiple times during this film.
No purpose in the film. For 99% of it, William Fichtner is just having small conversations with the neighbour, with his wife, or walking around in his tomato garden. How did the person directing this think it would be okay to produce such a boring movie?
The ending is just hilariously bad too. You wait 1 hour and 40 minutes just for a 1 minute "fight" scene, and thats the movie basically done. During the "fight" scene, the abusive boyfriend dies in the most unbelievable way possible. William Fichtner hits him, while hes laying down on his back after just being punched, in the side of the head with the golf club.. The abusive boyfriend stumbles around dramatically, falls over and dies.
I've seen better acting in porn. Do NOT waste your time with this movie. The reviews giving it high ratings are just trying to be different. They're delusional.
