When the ending abruptly came, I was left disappointed because I wanted more. I was enjoying the movie and didn't want it to end!
However, on reflection, the ending was actually really good. Why? Because we didn't need to see more. We know what was happening and what will happen, and true to the title, the girl left 'the world behind' by watching a tv programme that took her into a happier reality than the one she was experiencing.
Yes the film wasn't perfect, far from it, but it was an enjoyable rollercoaster ride with a constant underlying sense of tension.
The fact this could also happen in real life - where wars are centered on knocking out a country's satellites and communication systems - made this film feel even more eerie.
