Two Guys from Milwaukee (1946)
Wow
This one came out of the sky! What a shocker what started out a little slow, flew like a 747! Like the seats on a plane this movies had several seating options. Poor little rich girl, struggling guy trying to do right. To poor man living in the middle of no where. Perfect love story, man goes after daddy's spoiled rich daughter, Nothing is ever what it seems including the mine shafts.. Plenty of double takes as there's old faces in every scene. Romance, comedy and who done it. Don't get comfortable in who u think she ends up with it may not happen. In the end everyone is better off and leaves happy and better adjusted.
Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House (1948)
Step back
What a delightful movie aimed at the family dream! A house with enough bathrooms..
The laughs and tears as they try to get everything without spending to much. The laughter at digging deeper and deeper for water then suddenly finding a Pond only a few feet away. When they thought they were finally home free only to find out the house in the countryside cones with a very early morning call to make the train each day. One wonders what in the world was I thinking? Happiness wins out as the family bond thickens, girls settle in and the trip into town becomes easier and easier. Aim large dream big and find your own Dream House.
The Courtship of Eddie's Father (1963)
Leave it to the kid...
Our kids have a way of getting the most serious emotions of adults to the surface. When Eddie's mom dies a father and son relationship grows. Hard to tell who's taking care of whom! Sweet family friendly movie. Plenty of crying and laughing moments. Besides the harsh truth of losing his wife. The dad must learn to give up his own desires and wants when it comes to his son's needs. Reminds all parents the responsibility that comes with having children. Simple items of daily living that most men take for granted now have to be addressed. Like cleaning, shopping, cooking even what to do when they wake up sick in the night!
