Misinformation - but fun
20 November 2005
The movie is not based on fact, but rather a image spin. For example the last concert in the movie is to take place at 8 p.m. but people are arriving at noon -- the truth his Hank missed the 8 p.m. concert and had a 2 p.m. one the next day, which is the one where they announced his death. The movie claims he was "clean" or sober at the time of his death for several months, yet he had been hospitalized just two weeks before his death trying to sober him and kick his drug habit. The movie deals with his drinking problems but never mentions the drug habit, considering he died of a suspected overdose (as many as three shots of morphine just hours before he died) the movie never mentions it. The movie also implies he was still with his first wife at the time of his death, when he had remarried and refused to see his first wife.

If you take it as a work of fiction, it is fun, just no facts about a great singer who hated the stage.

More filth from the man who hates America. Mikey should move to Canada or France - maybe he could find happiness there. He hates everything about America expect telling lies to make a buck. Filth and hate - but that is all this man has ever done. An all time low even for Mikey the loser.

You can hate Bush and you can lie about Bush - but to make up lies and pretend they are the truth is so fake and junk. There is not one good thing to say about this movie. Clearly only a paid hit piece for the Democrats in an election year.

Please Mikey - get a life and move away.

Better than Disney junk - Dreamworks does it again!

This is more of a "D and D" adventure than a "cartoon". Lots of the lines and action is adult themed and can be enjoyed by all. Don't get me wrong, the kids will enjoy it as well. But there are enough plot twists to make it enjoyable - if only Xena could have been this good!

BORING!!!!!

At least they were right - all crop circles are fakes. The movie points out very clearly that anyone believing in UFOs, crop circles or talk radio is a fool.

A total waste of time and money.

Chris Lloyd is GREAT!!!
11 October 2002
Christopher Lloyd is funny and really believable as "Al the head angel". This movie is much better than the first, but it has great special effects that the first did not have as well as a much better plot and writing.

OK - it was written for kids, but adults have as much fun as the kids do. Tony Danza does a very realistic job in his role - but this is NOT a Taxi reunion.

Danny Glover is actually good and even seems to be very human in his emotions as well as showing some real acting talent for a change, a pleasant change.

Watch at least once - it is worth the effort to catch it.

study in death and more
9 October 2002
This is a great study in the psychology of death and a real look at what happens as a person experiences death. It is on one level a love story - that of looking for a lover but finding a friend. It is sad and deals with many "heavy" issues. It can be a very moving film in many ways. At times it is hard to watch, but worth the effort.

I dream of Genie - and she is there before Major Nelson
9 October 2002
This was the in many ways the start of Barbara Eden with genies. In this movie she is the girlfriend to Tony Randall - who finds a genie - Burl Ives. While no sexy outfits for Eden, it is a great comedy that needs to be seen at least once - just for fun.

The best one - -
9 October 2002
Most people have seen Mel Brooks remake of this movie, so it is like watching Jack Benny doing Mel Brooks. It was clearly the best movie or performance Jack ever gave - all of his radio, television and movie works combined - HE IS GREAT! Of the two movies, Jack beats Mel hands down, but had it not been for the remake most people would never have know about this one. The death of Lombarde right after this movie caused it to almost become totally lost - a shame as she is great here as well. This is a must see for many reasons - Jack, Carol, the laughs and the tears.

if you like Casablanca then you will love this one
8 October 2002
Paul Henreid from Casablanca returns as a French fighter on the run. He is flying with the RAF but crashes in France. He works hard to get his men out of the country while dodging the Gestapo. It is a great movie and a great love story. Catch it when you on late night.

If you love the song, you MUST see the movie!!!!
7 October 2002
If you remember the 60's - or if you want to remember what we did during the 60's, then this is the classic move to watch. The song is based on the true story - the real events of that famous Thanksgiving diner. The movie is based on the song and the events as well.

Folk music carried on by the first family of American Folk Music - Woody and Arlo Guthrie - American Icons and Heros - in their own way.

If you are not into the 60's or folk music - don't bother.

Relaxing movie
7 October 2002
A fun romp of a 50 year old Bing Crosby returning to college after becoming a multi-millionaire. He seeks to be just one of the gang. I really enjoy this Blake Edwards "clean" movie. A "Happy Days" type look at life in the late 50's or early 60's.

Of course Tuesday Weld and Fabian add spice but it is Gavin MacLeod that steals many scenes. (Is it just me or has anyone else notice how the younger he was when the movie was made, the older he looks? And the older he gets the younger he looks?)

It is just a plain fun easy time with lots of giggles and a few good laughs.

The best one
6 October 2002
Of all the various performances, this is my favorite one. The chorus moves while singing in the manner of ancient Greek classics. The lighting is very, very effective. But of course it is the music and the singing that makes this the best one yet. Friends who have never heard of Sweeny Todd have enjoyed this - as well as people who did not like the stage presentation. Watch it and fall in love with this classic.

When the legend becomes fact, print the legend.

This is one western that stands the test of time as a good movie. A western that doesn't kill any Indians - just a factual account of life in the "wild west". Lee Marvin is great. This is a classic "Andy Devine" movie that shows how a character actor can really make a movie great. John Wayne is overshadowed and is almost a pathetic character. This is a movie that is worth seeing whenever it is on cable, which is not often enough.

Great fun - a good movie
1 October 2002
When I saw this movie first run, I paid 75 cents to see it. I had to walk home in the dark over a mile after it was over - SCARED TO DEATH. Later I saw as young adult and love it. Today it still has those special feelings that make it one of my all time favorites.

The best there ever will be.
1 October 2002
Look up the word "classic" in the dictionary and Casablanca it there. It is as perfect as a movie gets. The writing, the pauses, the looks, the love, the humor - all in perfect time. The shadows, the music even the background actors and noise blend to make each scene seem real. Even the "bit players" are some of the best that Hollywood ever had.

The camera angles need a barf bag, the plot needed to have been decided before the filming started. In short, it is even worse than "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes". No plot, corny monster, historically in accurate, terrible effects. The French can not make movies. Save your money, stay away.
