I had high hopes for this film. The cast, the acting, filming and all are excellent. Sadly, This story never takes flight. It makes its intended statements; let people believe what they want, and what happens next (after life), but doesn't make them in any interesting way. It falls flat on storytelling craft. There were so many ways to have created intrigue and explore the reasons why Jeff was so beloved, but none were taken. Why didnt we ever get to see mire of the daughters story? That was interesting, and it ended as soon as it started. So disappointing. And the way it ended was hollow, uninteresting and lazy.

It's a crime show with a couple interesting layers not usually present in others of this genre. Because I'm such a fan of Nicola walker, I love the twist in this series of her talking directly to the audience; we get a sense of her humor, her thoughts and quirky comments which adds a bit of fun. They don't take me out of the story, just deeper into her character. The stressful issues of her being a single mom are very relatable. The show not the typical dry crime program, it manages to pepper the story with some flirty fun. And at the end of the 6th episode we know where the single mom storyline may take us. Looking forward to season 2.
