The Lost World (1999)
a good show!
kinda reminds me of the old 90's show 'Land of the Lost' or the Jurassic Park Trilogy. Nonetheless it's a great show full of action and adventure. Unlike other adventure series of the same (ie: Sheena, Land of the Lost..etc..) this show has got a good cast, and great story lines.
Scrabble (1984)
best game show ever
Scrabble was THE BEST game show created in the eighties. Getting fired from Wheel of Fortune was the best thing that could have happened to Chuck Woolery. Without Scrabble, daytime TV wouldn't have been the same in the eighties. I loved when the contestants popped a tile in, and chose a letter from the 2 available, the letter would animate across the screen and drop in the word if it fit in the word.
I loved that bell in the Super Sprint round that signaled on the next word. I hope someday they revive this show. Chuck Woolery is the best game show host ever!
Today's Special (1981)
Hocus Pocus Alama Gocus!!
Today's Special was a childhood favourite of mine. The show took place late at night in a Simpsons Sears store. Run by a puppet night watch man named Sam Crenshaw and his computer 'TXL', the show revolved around a mannequin named Jeff. Late at night Jeff would come to life and learn new things along with Muffy the Mouse and Toy Department Clerk Jodie. However if Jeff ever left the store, or his hat fell off, he would become a mannequin again. By placing his hat on his heat and reciting the magic words "Hocus Pocus Alama Gocus" Jeff would come back to life.
Like most children's shows, you learn along with the show. Each episode of Today's Special had Today's Special.. a word that would be featured in the episode that you would learn about. If I remember correctly, the woman that played Jodie went on to become a news anchor for CBS and CBC news.
Tales from the Crypt (1989)
one of the best shows ever!!
Quite possibly one of the best shows ever to air on TV! My favourite episode was the one where Christopher Reeve played a struggling restaurant owner whose business suddenly soars to success when he adds a new item to the menu, that soon becomes the talk of the town.
Frailty (2001)
The best thriller you'll see in 2002
Bill Paxton isn't really the type you'd expect to see directing and starring in a horror film, but he pulled it off big time in Frailty. Matthew McConnaghey plays a man who believes his brother is a killer the local police are looking for, and thus re-tells the story of his father, played by Paxton, whom in 1979 is ordered by an angel from god to kill the demons that walk among us.
Frailty has a stellar cast, superb acting, and a plot that will keep you guessing until the end. It's a deep, dark, thriller, that I highly recommend as one of the best horror/thriller movies you will see this year.
