Unfrosted (2024)
5/10
It could have been better
11 May 2024
"Seinfeld" is one of my favorite series. So, when I heard that Jerry Seinfeld was making a movie, I knew right away that I was going to watch it. So... did I like it? Well, "Unfrosted" wasn't a terrible movie, far from that. It had good jokes and I liked its atmosphere. But something was really missing. Unfortunately, it is often pointless and confusing. But I'm not saying it wasn't worth watching. It was nice to see the many guest stars and Jerry himself and that they had a fantastic fun doing this film. So... don't take "Unfrosted" too seriously. It's good, albeit flawed fun. Although, it could have been better, in my opinion.

Groundhog Day (1993)
9/10
Captivating excellence
4 May 2024
I recently re-watched this beautiful film and I must say every bit as good as I remembered... "Groundhog Day" is very close to a perfect movie experience. Of course, the acting is just about amazing. Bill Murray is excellent and yes, of course, Andie McDowell is great too...

What is the film's strength? Well, the nearly perfect scenario. It has dramatic, tense and of course, funny moments... the jokes work perfectly, I must say. The story never felt boring, well structured and maybe a bit cliche and predictable... but who cares? Great fun!

Overall, "Groundhog Day" is very good movie and an instant classic.

Pretty Woman (1990)
8/10
I liked this film
28 April 2024
"Pretty Woman" is not the usual romantic movie that some will like and some won't. This is because Julia Roberts plays a prostitute in this movie, and that will make some people uncomfortable to watch. Although, I liked it because it is quite well written, the characters and actors are good, and the cinematography is also good. So, do I think this movie is perfect? Not quite. The story, I felt, lost its way towards the end. However, the film is full of great and iconic moments... So, I liked it... Yes, it might not be a perfect movie, but I liked "Pretty Woman" overall, as it has a lot of good features.

Fargo (1996)
9/10
Well-written, tense and funny
28 April 2024
I have to say, the Coen brothers outdid themselves with "Fargo", as this film is just a fantastic: full of well-written characters, played by amazing actors, and a brilliantly constructed plot, full of funny and tense moments, fantastic direction and cinematography, and the soundtrack is also outstanding... By the way, the film kinda reminded me of "Pulp Fiction"... for example, the criminals behave similarly in this film. But it's not nearly the same film.

Overall, "Fargo" is a very good and very enjoyable movie, with a lot of outstanding features, and I gladly recommend it, fans of crime/comedy films will probably enjoy it.

Death Machine (1994)
7/10
The terrifying atmosphere makes the film
27 April 2024
"Death Machine" may not be a perfect movie, as the plot is quite silly at times and is not entirely original, as it can be felt that it is obviously based on films like "The Terminator" or "Alien"... Other than that, this movie is absolutely enjoyable! The right amount of humor adds to its greatness, and of course the special effects, and the acting... but what Stephen Norrington has done so well in this film is the tense atmosphere. Because even when nothing much is happening in the plot, and there is a quiet scene going, there is still the fearful feeling that something will happen soon, and the Warbeast will come... The fact that this is a b-movie is not always felt: as I already mentioned, the special effects are real good, including the fact that this is a 1994 low-budget film (not surprising actually, since before this Stephen Norrington did special effects...). Overall, "Death Machine" has its flaws, but it has a lot of good qualities too, and I was surprised how much I enjoyed it! I gladly recommend it, especially to fans of low-budget sci-fi films, as this will be a treat for them.

The Proposal (I) (2009)
8/10
It's a good movie!
3 February 2024
"The Proposal" is a fun romantic comedy film starring Sandra Bullock and Adam Sandler, directed by Anne Fletcher. However, the film was not perfect, as the story was quite predictable, and the characters were not fully developed either... and the movie contained some clichés.

But now I'll move on to the good stuff, which is: it was superbly filmed with good acting and the direction was also good. The movie is also full of funny moments and has plenty of other good qualities, for example, a good soundtrack.

All in all, "The Proposal" is a pretty good film, which is not nearly perfect, but still enjoyable.

Columbo (1971–2003)
9/10
The one and only Columbo!
27 January 2024
What can I say? "Columbo" is a humorous, exciting and above all very smart series, and perhaps one of the most classic shows of the '70s. The series has a very simple story: each episode features a different killer who commits a crime that Lieutenant Columbo must solve... and this simple story is amazingly handled... most of the time. The writing is great, so is the acting, and besides, the music and direction are amazing. The episodes are superbly crafted, with clever story and funny jokes, and with many surprising moments. But of course, "Columbo" also has its weaker episodes... but even with that, it's an excellent series, and also, a classic one.

The Casagrandes (2019–2022)
4/10
Far from the worst, nowhere near flawless
6 January 2024
Let me state it: "The Casagrandes" is not the worst series: it's funny at times, the characters are good, and it has great animation... but that's about it. Unfortunately, most of the stories don't work. While they are filled with some good jokes, the stories are weak and extremely formulaic, full of the usual clichés in every episode... and I'm not talking about one or two clichés here, but many. While "The Loud House", from which this is a spinoff, is quite a likeable series, this somehow lacks that charm. So, in summary: some of the jokes work, it has good characters and the animation is quite good, unfortunately it has very little other quality.

The Loud House (2014– )
7/10
Great fun... just don't expect a totally original series
5 January 2024
Okay, I clarify it in advance: "The Loud House" is a good series... in fact, I really like it! Only thing is, it's nowhere near original. For example, the stories and locations are really similar to the ones in "The Simpsons". The house of the Loud family is a replica of the Simpsons' house... with several little changes, of course... but I can also mention the school, which is also amazingly similar to Springfield Elementary in "The Simpsons"... and there is one of the siblings named Lisa Loud, who doesn't look like Lisa Simpson, but her high intelligence is really really familiar... and also: Clyde is obviously a copy of Milhouse, and they probably drawn inspiration from the Kwik-E-Mart, as Flip's Food & Fuel is quite similar to it... well, I've said enough about that, now here are the good things: the series is mostly well-written, with great characters, and also, it has some funny moments. So... obviously "The Loud House" isn't completely original, but it's still a pretty good show. Worth a look!

The Thundermans (2013–2018)
5/10
Moderately entertaining
5 January 2024
I have to say that "The Thundermans" is not perfect: for example, it's full of a thousand clichés and the visual effects often look cheap... but still, there is something good in this series. The stories, for example, are sometimes really good. No, of course they're not perfect either, but sometimes they have some funny moments (although a lot of jokes don't work, sadly)... And, at least it was filmed in front of a live audience! With this, it has overtaken many other series in its category. The acting is... well... is good after all... just good.

So, "The Thundermans" has a lot of clichés, the effects often look cheap, and while some of the jokes actually work, some really don't. So is it worth watching? Yes, actually. This is mainly made for children, for whom it is perfectly suitable. So in conclusion, just try to enjoy this series... there is something good about it.

Se7en (1995)
10/10
One of the best movies I've seen
31 December 2023
Wow... what can I say about this movie that hasn't already been said by other reviewers? Se7en is just an exceptional movie. Excellent performances (Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman are downright amazing), visually stunning, exceptional direction from David Fincher, twisted story, and other amazingly good qualities. It's incredible from start to finish...and also, it's brutal. Not only is this what I consider Fincher's best, but it's also one of the best films I've ever seen... it's definitely in the Top 5! And the ending is something worth waiting for... but enough said about the film! It's very brutal, very dark, but if you're into that kind of thing, go see this masterpiece for yourself...

Fight Club (1999)

What a terrific film
4 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
What can I say about "Fight Club"? This is an incredible movie with amazing acting, really good direction, really great writing and many other impressive qualities besides. The film is full of tense and interesting moments and manages to hold your attention throughout. The film is also full of many lines that are often quoted and scenes that are defining moments in the history of film.

But if I have to write more about - and I need to - then I just summarize this: this is an amazing film, I am really just wowed by how great this is! Very well-written, well-acted, well-directed... and such.

So... movie is an absolute 10/10 since everything was magnificent... It's a terrific film!

Get a Horse! (2013)
9/10
I really liked it!
3 November 2023
So... some might think this is an attempt by Disney to make a 1920s style Mickey Mouse short using computer animation. Well... yes and no. Yes, as the movie really starts out as a black and white cartoon... but then the film turns into with 3D animation!

Great animation, effects, and a whole entertaining story. So, the film is absolutely worth watching, especially for those who like the classic Mickey shorts, because it pays them a beautiful homage. There were many references to the classic shorts. For example, amazingly worked out that Mickey spoke with Walt Disney's archived audio recordings! All in all, a very good short film and a joyful novelty.

Better Call Saul (2015–2022)
10/10
A really great spin-off... and even more than that!
3 November 2023
Really liked "Breaking Bad", so I was sure I would watch Better Call Saul after I finish the original series, as it got good reviews and a lot of praise, and Bob Odenkirk, who played Saul Goodman, was amazingly good in "Breaking Bad". I have to admit honestly, the series didn't seem as good as "Breaking Bad" in the beginning: it was quite slow. But, of course, "Breaking Bad" also got better and better, so I didn't give up hope... especially since I heard that it will only get better and better. So it was. Indeed, the series got better and better, and in the end it was equal to unbelievably fantastic. So... if you're confused by the first season, just keep watching... and after a while you realize this show is much more than a spin-off!

A pretty good romantic comedy
20 August 2023
"Along Came Polly" is a romantic comedy starring Ben Stiller, Jennifer Anniston and Philip Seymour Hoffman, and was written and directed by John Hamburg.

The film introduces a man named Reuben Feffer, who is cheated on by his wife on his honeymoon. After that, he runs into Polly, an old classmate, with whom he begins to build a relationship.

The writing is good overall, with some pretty good jokes and a well-constructed story. The direction is also good, as is the cinematography and acting.

All in all, it's a good romantic comedy, though nothing special that's worth watching, especially if you're a fan of the genre.

Dirty Dancing (I) (1987)

A classic dance movie... and also, a good one
12 August 2023
"Dirty Dancing" has always been an exception for me when it comes to dance movies. This is because I am not a fan of dance movies, but this is not only classic, but also good.

The writing is good too. The story is pretty well-structured with especially great dialogue.

The direction is also very good. The direction by Emile Ardolino is very good and the acting is fantastic, especially the performance of Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey. Speaking of performance, I have to mention the amazing dance choreographies, which the actors performed fantastically.

In summary, a classic and pretty good dance film that is worth watching.

A good movie based on an amazing series
12 August 2023
"The Simpsons" is just an amazing series that I like very much, so I knew that I had to watch the movie based on it. And, after watching it, I have to say that I am not disappointed.

First of all, the voice acting is brilliant, just like in the series.

What is also outstanding, the film looks amazing, with very well-designed animation throughout.

The story was also quite good, full of great jokes (however, it all seemed a bit slow at the beginning of the film, but by the second half there was no sign of slowness).

All in all, it's a good movie, based on a really great series and worth watching, especially if you like "The Simpsons".

An amazing masterpiece by Hayao Miyazaki
27 June 2023
I have to admit, I'm not an anime fan, but I always make an exception with Hayao Miyazaki's films: they have a good story and are always visually stunning. And "Princess Mononoke" didn't disappoint either.

The film is good in terms of plot, with a properly built-up story, adequate tension and drama. And also, the characters were brilliantly developed.

The direction couldn't be better. Hayao Miyazaki has shown his talent again!

The animation... well, maybe the best thing about the whole movie: the whole thing is visually stunning, with brilliantly drawn characters and amazingly good backgrounds.

In summary, yet another brilliant film from Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli.

A brilliant and charming film
19 June 2023
"My Neighbor Totoro", is a truly brilliant film, consider many of Hayao Miyazaki's films to be masterpieces, and this is obviously one of them, in many ways:

The writing is great: the story is properly structured, full of funny, heartwarming and sometimes dramatic moments, and the characters are all lovable. What is even more outstanding is that there is no antagonist in the film at all, and the characters don't have a certain goal that they would follow throughout the film... and it still works properly.

The animation is truly fantastic: the whole thing is beautifully drawn and animated, it's all mesmerizing.

The direction is simply great: Hayao Miyazaki's talent really shines through.

In conclusion, "My Neighbor Totoro" is an amazingly great movie, a masterpiece of Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli.

Pulp Fiction (1994)
10/10
Absolutely original and brilliant
23 May 2023
When it comes to original movies, then "Pulp Fiction" is definitely one to mention. The 1994 film established the popularity not only of Quentin Tarantino, but also of many actors who appear in the film.

The writing is brilliant. The entire story of the film is well structured, full of fantastic and iconic moments.

The direction is fantastic. Along with the writing, it is one of the film's greatest achievements.

The acting is amazing! John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson, Bruce Willis... and even the director/writer himself has a cameo in his film.

In summary, a classic, superbly made film that does contain a fair amount of brutality, but don't let that put you off, it's absolutely worth watching.

Titanic (1997)

More than 3 hours... but it goes by quickly
2 May 2023
"Titanic" is a romantic drama film directed by James Cameron and has become a true classic over the years.

And even in my opinion, while not 100% perfect, it's a very enjoyable movie.

The writing is actually great. The story of the film is good, full of exciting and dramatic moments. In my opinion, the lines are also pretty good.

The acting is pretty good too. The performances are true to life and the actors fit their characters.

The direction is also great. James Cameron did a really good job again.

The cinematography is perhaps one of the best things this movie has. All the scenes are very well filmed.

In summary, it's not nearly perfect, but it's actually a good movie.

Spirited Away (2001)
10/10
"Spirited Away" is nothing but a masterpiece!
2 May 2023
As long as I'm not an anime fan, I make an exception for Hayao Miyazaki's films, which can be charming and often surreal. I think this is the opinion of a lot of people, and not by chance, because Hayao Miyazaki is really a great filmmaker.

"Spirited Away" (Sen to Chihiro no kamikakushi) has gained considerable popularity over the years and many call it a "masterpiece". I have to admit, me too.

Hayao Miyazaki has a ton of fantastic movies, and this is definitely one of them, if not his best. The characters, the writing, the animation style are all amazingly good. The whole movie is very surreal - and that's great.

In summary, a very well-made movie, and a masterpiece of Hayao Miyazaki.

Breaking Bad: Felina (2013)
Season 5, Episode 16
10/10
Amazingly good ending
2 May 2023
About the series: "Breaking Bad" has 5 seasons and a total of 62 episodes. It stars Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, Anna Gunn, Dean Norris and RJ Mitte. The series has gained a lot of popularity over the years, and let's face it, it really is a masterpiece to be praised.

About the episode: There are so many great episodes in this series, almost all of them have something special that we haven't seen before. Needless to say, "Felina" is one of the best episodes of the series, very close to the perfect quality of "Ozymandias" (S5 E14).

The writing is amazing, the acting is outstanding, the direction is fantastic, and well, the cinematography couldn't be better.

All in all, this is a very good episode and a great ending to the series.

A brilliant ending to Season 4
2 May 2023
About the series: "Breaking Bad" has 5 seasons and a total of 62 episodes. It stars Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, Anna Gunn, Dean Norris and RJ Mitte. The series has gained a lot of popularity over the years, and let's face it, it really is a masterpiece to be praised.

About the episode: "Breaking Bad" has a lot of brilliant episodes, and the episode "Face Off" is definitely one of them. But no, not the very best one, because that goes to the episode "Ozymandias" (S5 E14).

This episode is great in every way, including the writing, the acting, the cinematography... and of course the direction (not surprising, since this episode was directed by the series' creator Vince Gilligan.)

All in all, an amazingly good finale for Season 4.

One of the best episodes of the series
2 May 2023
About the series: "Breaking Bad" has 5 seasons and a total of 62 episodes. It stars Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, Anna Gunn, Dean Norris and RJ Mitte. The series has gained a lot of popularity over the years, and let's face it, it really is a masterpiece to be praised.

About the episode: Yes, you read that right, one of the best episodes in the series in my opinion. But no, not The Best, because the episode "Ozymandias" (S5 E14) deserves that ranking... but in my opinion, this episode is just a little behind it.

What this episode does very well is that it drives the plot along several storylines: first, we see Walt and Walter Jr., and their amazing dialogue, and secondly, we see Gus, Mike and Jesse go to Mexico... both story threads are brilliant in different ways... and seeing these two great threads in one episode is near perfection!

The writing, the acting, the cinematography, and in this episode especially the editing, are also amazing.

All in all, a truly brilliant episode of "Breaking Bad".
