Homecoming (2018)
low budget bore, after 2 episodes i caught on to the scam
If you have time to waste then you can watch this. Go ahead and waste your time waste your mind and waste your self worth.
Amzn series that are made by them are not worth watching. Expanse is something to watch when you have nothing else to do, it is mindless and the plot really doesn't exist. Yes it has good special effects but it just goes on and on
every series that amzn produces are dull and watched because it has morons that give them high ratings. BBC series are much better. Watch john Malkovich as detective Hercules Poirot. I am glad that amazon has it available to watch free of charge.
Nightmare Alley (2021)
masterpiece!
This is the second del toro movie i have seen, i tried his earlier fantasy flicks only to abort them after 10 minutes.
"the shape of water" tho cliched and formulaic, showed his growth as a director /writer
many times if a director wins an oscar his next movie is snubbed as was the case on "nightmare alley"
he is going more mainstream and watching it a second time was even more rewarding.
The Old Man (2022)
low budget
Jeff is a great actor but he doesn't have much of a script to showcase his talents, nothing novel either.
I wrapped up episode 1 and was disappointed in the minimal budget especially for this genre.
Night Sky (2022)
this has nothing to do with sci fi
There are no special effects, nothing happens, i must be on another planet since all the reviews are 7+.
Yes good acting, but i am not one to get on the bandwagon just because some Hollywood icons are casted.
Love and Shukla (2017)
absurd
I wanted to give this 9 stars, but if the protagonist is so stupid and gullible so as to be totally unrealistic then it becomes an exercise as to how much can you stomach.
Another scene that was totally uncalled for is when he rents the room to consummate his marriage and the police come knocking, it turns into a surreal movie about nightmare on elm street.
Delhi Cops (2017)
the producer director screenwriter should be arrested
I love watching shows from India, they are quite mesmerizing. I was totally into the first 2 episodes and so looking forward to the rest of the series.
I started to play solitaire on my computer while watching this and frankly i didn't know what was going on . Talking about falling apart and drifting into the abyss. I frankly wasted my christmas watching ineptitude.
The Power of the Dog (2021)
no more champion movies for me
I have no idea how the director could have released this film. If you want studies in boredom by all means this is for you. Her previous films were legitimately acclaimed but i suspect that a loyal fan base helped out the ratings
photography was great but the film hints at senility for what was a accomplished film maker.
Baptiste (2019)
why so long?
This series could have been told in four episodes, or maybe even 3. it started okay and was captivating. then about the 3/4 episode i felt i was watching the same thing over and over, the scenes of amsterdam red light district were very realistic and and made me feel rue at all the same time. great acting but exasperating due to length of the series
Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019)
good acting and special effects
I know it falls into the blockbuster genre with running times averaging over two hours. but it was laborious to watch at 2:12. there was no need to show the same scenes done over and over with no added value to the plot
The Sinner (2017)
i know where this is headed - prediction spoiler alert
i found myself watching the first episode and was really enjoying the acting and the captivating story. then i thought to myself if this show catches on there might be a season 2. it brought to mind me spending a whole year watching Joan Allen's "the family". that was another show that could have been great but the idea was for it to drag on to season 2. nothing was resolved and the story became more and more filler and also becoming more implausible.
i seriously doubt that "the sinner" will be wrapped up this season and will end up just dragging on and getting nowhere. they should take a page out of john Turturro's "the night of". HBO did a wonderful job mainly because the the story ended after 8 episodes; no filler and wasted time watching actors do a soap opera. the story was tight and tense
Hannibal: Antipasto (2015)
ruined by NBC logo
I couldn't believe that NBC had their logo on the bottom on the screen. I thought it might be for just the opening credits but it was for the whole show. I wish i could just let it slide but i kept thinking about what a classless act that NBC did.
I really like Mads Mikkelsen. I have recently been watching a Danish TV series from the early 2000 called Unit One. He isn't the main character in Unit One, but its interesting to see him in a solid supporting role, and to watch him in present day. He is becoming a seasoned actor.
Hannibal would have been one of my favorite shows of the summer but because of before mentioned peeve i will stick to Major Crimes and Tyrant.
