Not as bad as Leonard Maltin thinks
25 June 2005
I caught this movie on cable late one night and was pleasantly surprised. I found it to be entertaining and even a bit suspenseful in a 'Memento' sort of way. Adam Ant has some good comic relief and Tom Hulce is very satisfactory in the lead role. If you are looking for a sleeper at the local video store, check this one out. It appears at times to be a low-budget, late 80's type of film, but sometimes that is not a bad thing at all. I gave/give this film a solid 7 out of 10, and I recommend it for viewing. Two or three cocktails is a nice beginning to this steady film. The only real drawback is the heavy, who comes off as so wimpy that Virginia Madsen could take him out, but hey, that is just my opinion.

Worth a few yuks

I borrowed this DVD from a friend as was fairly surprised at the amount of laughs. Kurt Russell and Jack Warden are worth the price of admission. Mostly crude sex jokes, with a few nude scenes for good measure. Lenny & Squiggy make a couple appearances and are worth a few chuckles. A thin plot, mostly an excuse for said sex jokes and foul language. Have a few beers sit back and check your brain at the door. It definitely has that "dated" feel in picture quality, but those can be fun. You can tell this movie was made for the "drive-in" crowd in the 1970's. Jack Warden has a dual role in this movie, and pulls each of them off quite well. Warden was one of the best curser's of all-time (along with M. Emmet Walsh).
