Zorro (2024)
He's the man called Zorro...
This was an absolute treat! A very good incarnation of Zorro, probably my new favorite actually. It was great cast, everybody did their role so genuinely. Very good performance from all. But what I liked most out of this series, was the storytelling, a very intriguing story, that had you interested the hole time and it had a story that kept on threw the entire season and left it open to continue in the next season (I can't wait until the release of season 2). I can't speak highly enough of this wonderful show. A strong story, lovely characters, a fantastic performance, a very nice setting. I've seen it both with the original Spanish sound and the English dubbed version. The English dubb is good, it's enjoyable. But the original Spanish sound along with the English subtitles are such a better experience. I highly recommend you watching it like that, it's feels so much more authentic with the Spanish sound and the excellent performance get a little bit lost as well, with the ENG DUB. But that's my opinion, from someone who has watched both. Maybe you will have another one. Either way, the series is amazing and i really hope this will be a long runner, with many new seasons and episodes.
Role Play (2024)
A very good movie and Cuoco is brilliant as always
This is a dark comedy, or a light thriller if you like. And Kaley Cuoco is so good in these type of roles. The first time I saw her in a role like this was in The Flight Attendant then in the Based On A True Story and now in this. And she keeps knocking it out of the park! David Oyelowo, I hadn't seen in anything else before this, I believe, but I really liked him in this. He played well against Cuoco. So, what about the movie. Well, first of, I really liked it. I'm a sucker for movies with this kind of plot, where some one in the family has a secret identity and then the other half gets revealed to that hidden world and gets dragged in to it. And the contrast that always occur then, between the two worlds of identity are always very enjoyable to see. And this movie was not short on that. A big thumbs up for this one!
Monarch: Legacy of Monsters (2023)
One word: Fantastic!
Just finished watching the series today after I started watching it yesterday. It has a interesting and intriguing story, that just captivate you. I couldn't stop watching. I had to force myself to take a break, so I didn't stayed up all night. So i watched the first 7 episodes on day 1 in a row, then i watched the remaining 3 the day after. The flashbacks are inserted at just the perfect moment to tie in with the present story. It has very nice special effects. Good casting. Russel is great as always. Young Russel was very good and likable in his role as Lee. I really liked the siblings. The original trio vas great. I mean, yeah, I liked them all. They all did great in there parts in this series. Don't have any complaints about any actor. They all did their roles perfectly. But now comes the tough part... the waiting for season 2. To sum it up: I highly recommend this!
The Hardy Boys (2020)
Fun. Entertaining. Mystical.
I really enjoyed this series. Just finished season 3. It's got good characters, and the actors portraying them do a very good job doing so. The plot is intriguing and entertaining, and has some nice twist and turns. I could however be without all the magical and supernatural stuff, but it dosen't take way from the show, I just think it didn't need it and could have been just fine without it. It has got some funny moments as well as action ones. You finish it pretty quickly, at least I did. I did season 3 in two days. When I start, I just can't stop. I wanna know what happens next, so I am fast at play another episode. I find it sad it haven't got a renewal for a season 4, because it definitely got more adventures in it, with the Hardy Boys and their gang.
Teenage Bounty Hunters (2020)
NETFLIX, where is season 2!? I'm waiting...
Good show! I got hooked from the get go. Finished it in just a few days. Interesting characters and a intriguing plot. I really liked Bowser, especially his voice and his hm/um sounds. The twins where bad-#ss and at the same time hade good values and beliefs. They where all about doing the right thing, as much as they possible could. And while Bowser acted like a mentor to them and learned them the ropes, they in turn had a good influence on him, by teaching him to open up and start caring more. It was a nice friend-relationship between the three. Besides the fact that there isn't a second season to it (yet ...crossing my fingers it will come), the only thing that could have been better, was the emotional scenes. They weren't strong enough and they didn't feel authentic or real. They just didn't grab, made me tear up or made me feel it. But it really isn't anything that takes away from the show. Just, if there was something it could have done better, it's that. So, come on now, NETFLIX, bring us a second season. So we could get some answers to the cliffhanger ending... please. Anyhow, a good show, that is well worth watching. Enjoy!
Paper Girls (2022)
AMAZON... Where, oh, where is season 2!?
Hi There!
This was a fun and entertaining watch. I finished it in one day. I really enjoyed it. There was just one thing that I didn't like about it, and that is that it don't have a second season and more seasons after that. Other then the lack of seasons, it was great. Good characters and a good story, with some good dialog. I hope that Amazon will change their minds about Paper Girls and give it the second season it is so deserving of. This show has so much more story to tell, it has only begun to scratch the surface, and it has so much more answers that need to be cleared up as well. I really recommend to give this first season a watch, because it is really good. It's intriguing, exciting, funny, entertaining and it's a very easy watch, those 8 episodes goes down just like that. Have a great watch!
National Treasure: Edge of History (2022)
A good adventure show
Just finished it, after starting watching it yesterday. I couldn't stop. It was very entertaining. But I'm a fan of adventure movies and series. It had a good story and it tied in the 2 movies with Cage as well in it. I really liked the characters in this series. They all brought something to the table. A fun fact about one of the characters name, Oren, in Swedish, means "unclean/dirty". I really don't have one complaint about this show. I think it did really well. It was a nice adventure series. That's why it so disappointing to read that Disney+ have decided to not give it a second season, despite set it up for a new adventure in the end. But I'm just gonna hope they will change their minds. Because I definitely want more adventures from this cast.
Land of the Lost (2009)
Funny, entertaining and simply amazing
I really enjoyed the OG series from 1974. The reboot series from 1991 was okay and this movie I just LOVED. It was so funny and entertaining. The only bad thing about it, is that a sequel yet not have come. There are so many funny and hilarious scenes in this movie. Like the one when they are being chased by the T-Rex and in the middle of running for their life, Ferrell tells him they have to stop for a photo as proof, and not only does he stop, he actually strikes a pose while doing it with the chasing man-eating T-Rex in the background coming closer and closer. Oh, man, I just smile from ear-to-ear just thinking about it now. That is just one of many incredibly funny scenes that this movie provides. There also many references to the OG series, like when Ferrell sings the intro music to the series. Some memorable quotes: "We're gonna cook ... and eat ... Chaka" "-I never trust a guy wearing a tunic. -You live by that rule? -It never steered me wrong." To mention a couple. I truly hope that a sequel will eventually come. It deserves a sequel. And I recommend this movie to everyone that enjoys a good laugh. And if you also like dinosaurs and secret worlds, then you will like it even more.
Ted Lasso (2020)
WONDERFUL!!!
What an incredible show this is! So amazing! It hooks you right away from the start and it dosen't let go. It's an emotional ride full with lovely and funny moments. There are some truly heart felt moments, that made me tear up in joy. There where also a lot of moments that made me laugh out loud. If you want to watch a series to get really invested in, then this is the show for you. You will care for the story. You will care for the characters. Because it so good. They almost start to feel like family, like you knew them. They also do a tremendous job of character development, let them evolve. Sadly, now, this show has come to it's end. But this what they wanted, they got to tell their story how they wanted and the end it. So you gotta respect that. Even thou I really would have liked for it to continue. But, hey, maybe there will be some fun spin-off series coming out from this. Wouldn't mine that. But any who, this was a great show and I can't recommend this one enough. Happy watching, folks!
Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies (2023)
Grease is the word!
I liked this one! Grease is one of my all time favorite movies, so let's just begin there. I'm also a big sucker for musicals. And this was a fun and interesting series. A nice story, god characters. My favorite four was Olivia, Richie, Gil and Nancy. If I'm gonna complain about something, then it was the musical numbers. And I'm not saying they where bad, per se. There where good songs. But they just didn't grab you, shook you around, they weren't strong enough. But they where good and some was better then others. I really liked the one, it was one of the last songs, when the ladies comes to Olivias home to try make her not go threw with the wedding, it was in black-and-white. That was one, to me, that stood out a little bit more. The first one was good to. And there where some others as well. So, anyways, musical numbers could have been stronger. Other than that, this was a really good show that is worth watching. That's why I'm so sad to read today, that the series have been cancelled by Paramount+. But hopefully someone else will pick it up for a season 2. Because there was an intriguing end to season 1 and I wanna see how it will continue.
Skull Island (2023)
Annie's Island
I mean, how can you not love this show. It was incredible. Just finished it to day, and I just stumbled over it in the first place. I hadn't heard about it before hand. So when I did, I looked it up, and thought: hmm, this seems interesting. So I started watching it, and I got hooked right away and it just got better after each episode. Annie, man, that character was the greatest. So funny and entertaining, she was. She almost made the whole show for me. I laughed A LOT when she was on screen. So simple, yet so funny. Besides her being the comic wiz (without even knowing it), the show itself was also kind of funny, with this sublim humor, and it also had a bunch of action in it and adventures. For me, this was a winner. I really enjoyed it, and I hope there will be a second season.
Bugsy Malone (1976)
A unik and interesting take on the 1930's mob life
This movie take place during the probation times in the '30:s. With mobsters, detective cops, smugglers, saloon girls, bar fights, shoot outs, high speed car chases... But with a big (little) twist, it's being played out in a fun, easy going way with kids in all roles. The machine guns don't shoot bullets, but ice cream. The grenades are cream pies. The cars are paddle cars but with look of real 1930's cars. It's so brilliant and well thought out. Very unik and creative. I love this movie. It's one of my favorite. The musical numbers are really good. I still, to this day, sing them every now and then. And it's not just for kids, family's or musical lovers. It's just, from top to bottom, a really enjoyable movie. I also would like to say, that I would love if they where to do a reboot on this one (I'm actually surprised that there haven't been one yet) or if they give it the GREASE treatment with a tv-series. Crossing my fingers. Anyway, I really recommend this movie. I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Especially if you enjoy creative and unik movies. And if you like musicals, then it would just be an extra plus in it for you. Happy watching!
Henry Danger: Rubber Duck (2018)
The Danger with Risky Business
Hi there everybody! This episode was truly amazing. Outstanding! I laughed so hard, that my eyes watered up. The love letter to the fantastic and classic Tom Cruise movie "Risky Business" is spot on. The first second of the episode I noticed what was going on and I marked out BIG TIME. I just loved it! If you liked this episode, but haven't seen the Risky Business movie yet. Then let me tell you, go watch that movie, then go see this episode again and I promise you that you will love Rubber Duck even more then you previously did when you get all the references. Towards the end of the episode, I was just waiting for the cracked egg reference, because I knew it just had to come and it did and it was brilliant. I agree with a previous reviewer that Jace Norman has all the potential in the world to be an absolut outstanding actor. I'm actually voting for him to mount the role of John McClane in a (hopefully) upcoming Die Hard reboot. I think he would do that role great justice. But back to the episode. This episode is doing everything right. The script, the comedy, the references, the acting. It's all spot on! I loved this episode! And it's my personal favorite. My recommendation is, watch this. You wont be disappointed. Two thumbs up for this incredible episode and to all the people involved to make it a reality!
Game Shakers: The One with the Coffee Shop (2017)
We're all FRIENDS!
Easily the best episode of the show. At least it is my absolute favorite episode of this series. Because I love Friends, and the strong references to that show in this episode is truly amazing. I'm a big fan of stuff like that. Really funny that they decided to do like a tribute episode to Friends. If you like nods from new shows to nostalgic and classic shows from the past, then I would recommend this episode to you, and especially if you are Friends fan, I would recommend it even more. So as a fan of Friends and a kind of a fan of Game Shakers (which is kinda funny in general... mad props to Kel Mitchell, better known from "Kenan & Kel" that bring it up to another level), I give this episode two thumbs up.
Velma (2023)
A Great Comedy Show!
First of, I'm a fan of the original Scooby-Doo series, as well as many previous Scooby-Doo incarnations before this one. With that said, I LOVE THIS SHOW! I think it's brilliant. The humor is spot on, very funny. Sharp and edgy jokes. The style of the comedy kind of reminds me of "Duckman: Private Dick and Family Man". The story continue in every episode threw the whole season, which I like. And the story is good. It has a lot of Scooby-Doo and Hanna-Barbera references threw the show, and I big sucker for stuff like that. It has a really fresh and creative take on the Scooby-Doo franchise. So mad props for that, for being brave and not afraid to change it up. It's also a origin story of the Scooby-gang, where we get to see how they all get together. I highly recommend this show for anyone who like nostalgic stuff but with a new take on it, and people who like comedy that is sharp and edgy in the same way as shows and movies like "The Simpsons", "Duckman: Private Dick and Family Man", and "Family Guy" and "Fat Pizza". It's must see TV in my book! Crossing my fingers for many new seasons of this funny, funny show.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023)
Super Funny and Entertaining Movie
I really enjoyed this movie. I thought I was gonna like it and that it was gonna be good. But it was WAY better and funnier then I could ever imagine. The animation was good. The voices was good. The story was good and really well fought out. The humor was brilliant, really spot on with the comedy on this one. A lot of L. O. L moments for sure. There was a lot of references to the Super Mario world and even Donkey Kong and other Nintendo references, and I'm a sucker for stuff like that. I give this two thumbs up and a round of applauds... and now I wait for the sequel. I recommend this a watch.
