Yo-kai Watch (2014–2018)
8/10
Innovative and refreshing, but very Japanese
29 June 2016
Yo-Kai Watch is an amazing show, one of the best Anime series aimed at at all ages recently. Instead of your usual collect-them-all Anime with the "motivated and always developing" main character stereotype eager to catch all the monsters, this show does the exact opposite: Main character that just wants a normal life, together with a rather useless sidekick. The show focuses more on comedy rather than action/drama, which is also new for this genre.

However, I understand why some people may be thrown off by it, as it's full of jokes requiring you to know a bit about the Japanese culture, even in the English release. But best of all, most of these jokes are adult oriented. The "Manjimutt" character is based on a drunk Japanese business man, which is why his face is always red. Shibanyan is basically an "Otaku", which is shown by his hardcore fascination of Japanese idols and fandom of Japanese manga. There's also a creature named "Hidabat", a creature that hates the light and shuts themselves inside the house all day in a depressed state, which is a direct reference to people known as "Hikikomori", a huge social problem in Japan.

There's also a few "innocent" jokes that you may not get if you don't have a clue about Japan, like the Japanese Metro Trains, the tradition of handing out tissues with ad fliers (the characters thought they were trading cards) and a bunch of puns on Japanese brands, like "BookOn" and "Aoyaru".

If you're an adult and know enough about Japan to understand the jokes, this will be amazing. Even great for kids, who won't care if they miss a couple of jokes. But for everyone else... it may be a bit hard to enjoy.

Get Blake! (2015– )
5/10
About as average as you can get
8 May 2015
In the spirit of past uninspired shows, like "Sidekick", "Grojband" and "Dr. Dimensionpants", here is yet another fast-paced flash animated cartoon with no heart or soul. The show is about two best friends, one fat and one thin, eager to escape a group of squirrels trying to catch "Blake" for no good reason. Even worse, it isn't even explained why they're doing it, not even in the first episode.

The humor is annoying and almost always about slapstick violence, the verbal jokes are usually puns or quotes used everywhere else and nearly all the episodes takes use of every single cartoon cliché known to man.

It's probably a fine show for kids, but adults won't be amused by this. It's part Johnny Test, part Sidekick. It's the simplest form for entertainment, with the usual bad flash animation to go (even internet cartoons made by a single guy animates better). The show would've been a little better if it didn't rush everything, but the cartoon industry continues to throw ADHD induced cartoons at kids.

The Garfield Show (2008–2016)
1/10
Boring, clichè and random
14 October 2013
I've loved the Garfield specials and the TV show, Garfield and Friends. I am a huge fan of this lazy, orange cat and looked forward to this new 3D-animated show. It was a mistake I should've never done. The first episode I watched was about invading lasagnas. The episode airing on TV now is a recent episode about robots invading the earth. It's basically the same episode, just slightly altered! The next episode was about Odie falling in love with a hair-brush (A watered down version of Rocko's Modern Life, perhaps), not to mention those horrible "pot of gold" and "dog contest" episodes, which has already been in countless cartoon.

Garfield talks in this show by moving his lips, which means humans can understand him in this show. This makes it a lot easier for the writers to solve his problems in the most typical ways.

There's very few reasons to even like this show. It has everything you've watched on TV before, but sugar-coated by using a popular cartoon character. The writing is horrible, the voices are annoying and the animation is mediocre at best. You can clearly see why they chose 3D- animation (Psst! Low production costs!).

Kappa Mikey (2006–2008)
9/10
An excellent show
17 December 2009
I can't really see why so many people are bashing on this TV-show. I mean, sure the Animation is crude, the chibi style is a bit overused and there's way too many sound effects. But still, there's many points why this is a great one too.

First, Kappa Mikey is actually just a parody of itself. It's not meant to be serious, and the target audience for this show has to be Anime lovers. You'll see lots of references to Full Metal Alchemists, Chobits, Azumanga Daioh and even Yu-gi-oh which is jokes most people just don't get. I also see most of the people complaining are either kids, teens who can't write normal English or nerds, huh?

Secondly, the character designs looks very decent, not really crappy. I mean, it's still a lot better than most Anime flash animated movies on the net, right? The coloring is also just right, so let's give an applause for that.

Third, most episodes are about the problems regarding Anime. Edits when releasing it outside Japan (Like 4kids does), Piracy (Ecspecially Video Games), writing scripts for countless episodes (Bleach, Naruto, One Piece...) and the use of music.

Fourth, the fact that they actually got a popular Japanese band like "Beat Crussaders" to perform their theme song is just unbelievable. Fantastic. Splendid. And the song is even catchy. The fact that they didn't bother to make a new ending theme is what keeps it away from getting 10 of 10.

I guess some people will continue to bash this show to death and make fun of people who're watching this. But they're just stupid themselves, since they can't blame anyone for liking a show. That would be the same as blaming someone for enjoying violence.

But that's all for now. And at least give this show a chance, before blaming it for everything. It took quite some time to get into it.

Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi (2004–2006)
7/10
The best show on CN ever
9 October 2007
As you see, almost half of the people around here doesn't like it, and the rest like it. But trust me, it's a extremely good show.

I hate the recent shows released by CN, like Ben 10 and Juniper Lee. It's just plain boring. If you're going to watch a quality show, with a lot of background music, singing and humor, try this. It's the best TV-show you can ever get on CN. Fosters Home For Imaginary Friends is the second best show there, just in case you ask :) It's about a rocking group called 'Puffy Ami Yumi', and their 'wacky' adventures. Kaz is the greedy manager, Ami is the happy little optimist rocker and Yumi is the serious person.

Don't care about what other says. I mean, it's your opinion that counts for you. So, at least try to watch 2-3 episodes of this show before you judge it.

I didn't like it in the first time, because i thought it was a girl show. But after i gave the show a try, i loved it. And so should you.

So turn on you TV, look for the show and start watching it now. If you can't find it (Because it was canceled by CN), buy the DVD's or whatever you have to do to watch it.

Ah My Buddha!! (2005– )
10/10
The Best Eechi Anime Ever
7 October 2007
Warning: Spoilers
How many times have you seen an anime with a boy who 'Awakens' and gets powerful powers, after seeing a girl naked? Almost never.

Maybe it sounds weird, but it's quite entertaining. It isn't any plot on this show either, but it is full loaded with fanservice, nosebleeding, slapstick-comedy and 'Normal Comedy'. It's really just about that Ikko needs to control his powers before he 'Overcomes his earthly desires' or something like that.

The main character is Satonaka Ikko. He is 16 years old, and a monk on the Saienji Temple. Like i said before, he has powerful powers, but he can't control them. Each time he sees a girl in bare skin, he awakens. A blue lights flows up from him, and if there's ghosts nearby, they gets exorcised. After that, he gets his perverted rebound.

This is a show you need to see to believe. If you haven't watched this show before, give it a try. If you have good taste in Ecchi Anime, you'll like this for sure.

By the way, the fact that there's both blood and strong sexual themes in this Anime, makes it unsuitable for people under 15. So this is not anything you should show your kids, if you get your hands on this.
