Pakisabi na lang... Mahal ko siya (2002)
the best judy ann santos film, yet
the plot has gonzo (cogie domingo) falling for his substitute teacher geraldine (judy ann santos) with the p.e. teacher and track coach(KC Montero) and gonzo's friend IC (Alessandra De Rossi)providing the subplot. through geraldine's guidance and tutorship, gonzo mended his happy-go-lucky ways, dreaming romantic scenarios with his teacher in between. but gonzo's track coach also vied for geraldine's affection while he almost ended up ruining geraldine's reputation and career. the end was bitter-sweet but beautiful.
this flick shows cogie domingo versatility and huge talent as an actor, making him stand a notch higher than his contemporaries. this film also proves that judy ann santos can generate spine-tingling moments not just with her scripted love-team but with other promising leading men in the persons of cogie and kc. hopes this won't be the last partnership with kc montero. believe or not, they look great together.

Akala mo... (2002)
it's a promising movie
at first it was odd to see judy ann santos being paired with someone more than two years younger (dingdong dantes). but it worked!
although the director was a bit confusing with his shots, there were actually some "kilig" moments on the screen. the plot showed rezette (judy ann) falling head over heels for eric (dingdong). it was predict- able from thereon but given the right elements and a tear-jerking story with a social angle, this partnership of judy ann and dingdong could actually prosper.
Esperanza (1997)
not a "no brainer" mind you
although the powers that be did everything to let this series star wear outmoded clothes, this still has a great storyline although i don't like judy ann and wowie together. with another leading man, judy ann will do just fine. this series has a stellar cast: charo santos, dante rivero, elizabeth oropesa, piolo pascual was even a villain. marvin agustin did a fine acting job, of course this is still a judy ann starrer so she did outshine the rest.
Kay tagal kang hinintay (1998)
a great film if you're a judy ann santos fan
if only rico yan didn't die young. this picture showed judy ann in all her "baby fats" splendor but looking like a beautiful ingenue. as she grows older she becomes lovelier than ever. this is a heart-gripping tale of two sweethearts who were separated by circumstances but managed to end up together in the end, as in most pinoy feel-good movies.
there are so many what could have been in this screen couple's roads but in the end fate intervened with rico's shocking death and the planned reunion in the film "isusumbong kita sa tatay ko," is put back in the drawing boards with a different love interest for judy ann.
Paano ang puso ko? (1997)
a judy ann favorite
a judy ann favorite but a spooky film. i always observed that rico yan looked believable as a dying multiple myeloma patient. two years, a year, a few months, a week later(the time frame whenever i view this flick), he was found cyanotic and apparently dead in his resort bed. maybe his thin frame contributed to his early demise? judy ann is prettier here than in her next outing with rico in "kay tagal kang hinintay." it's the hair. the hairstyle can do wonders. not that it's always the looks that matters. but pinoys are getting more superficial while the country is entranced by the power of abs-cbn?
