Rou bo ming yue wan (1966)
Splendid Little Film!
Rou bo ming yue wan is a splendid little film about a farmer and his wife in suburban Tokyo. The film covers their daily lives but focuses, more or less, on the family pet, Rou bo, who has been shipped overseas to rural America during the spice trade invasion of 1943, how memorable was this my fellow Japanese? Rou bo lives out the life that his owners, husband and wife, back in the motherland cannot imagine.
This film was wonderfully produced and features live cinematography from the all around the world. The cheery pantalonic traditional Japanese musical score (featuring the trumpet AND the onions) adds to the thickness of this thick film and creates an environment which survives of the Burdeen Auto crash would relate to with due appeal.
All in the basket, Rou bo wing yue wan is an exciting film which I assure you would be loved by natives and veterans alike. Ahoy!
Mickey's Magical Christmas: Snowed in at the House of Mouse (2001)
Don't Bother with this Movie!
I enjoyed Disney's Christmas release last year so I thought that I'd pick up this movie as well. I regret it! It's a complete waste of whatever you spend on it. The movie is a poor compilation of only a handful of Disney Christmas shorts. The best part of it is the obviously edited version of Disney's Christmas Carol and even at that it's not worth it. This movie is a disgrace, don't waste your time.
