Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Carnage of Krell (2011)
Perfect, Dark and emotional finale to a great last episode
Jesse, Fives, Rex, Dogma, Tup, Waxer Each and every one of these clones had their chance to shine in this episode. This is my favourite episode of the clone wars period. The 501st Vs 212 was emotional and unexpected. It was visually beautiful, had some dark moments, memorable moments, and has definitely left it's mark on me.
It pretty much sums up everything I love about the clone wars. It keeps you on the edge of your seat and has you on then brink of tears. Pong Krell is a meanacing character. Each and every clone is amazing in this episode, from Rex, Waxer, Yup, Jesse and Fives.
This whole arc in general was perfect.
Whiplash (2014)
MODERN DAY MUSICAL MASTERPIECE
What can i say. This is one of the best films I've seen in recent years, and that came as a suprise too.
I was never a huge fan of drama, I was more of a action packed kinda guy, but this blew me away.
First of all, the performances of both Miles Teller and and J. K Simmons were both absolutely incredible with miles Teller acting one of his, if not, his best performance to date.
The characters where captivating, with fletcher stealing the show as one of the most terrifying villians in years.
The story and cinematography where beautiful and captivating.
And of course, you can't forget the music. If you're a fan of Jazz, you will love it, if your a fan of drums, you will love it, and if your not... You will be after watching this film.
Also, the finale left me speechles. Even if you hate the whole film. You will love the finale.
Elemental (2023)
I miss the old pixar
I have always been a huge fan of Pixar. Though I don't always connect with animated content, I think Pixar was the anomaly. I loved almost all of their original releases, from Incredibles to Monsters Inc and ofcource my two Personal favourites Cars and Wall.e. So,y expectations where reasonably high for this film, Shure Pixar isnt what it used to be, but the trailers looked decent. Unfortunately elemental is just another predictable, cheesy story, trying to, and often failing to create metaphorical racism. Over all the only thing going for it is the animation. If you like animation, I recommend it, but don't have to high expectations ove that.
Inception (2010)
Inception: So good I thought I was dreaming
Wait. Did I really just watch that is was it all a dream
Christopher Nolan's latest film is a mind bending and unique sci fi action movie that doesn't feel afraid to delve deep into the complex world of dreams. Highly ambitious and visually stunning, Inception is a film like no other.
With a stellar cast featuring Leonardo DiCaprio, Cillian Murphy as the two standouts to me, this film perfectly blend fast passed action with complex and intricate dialogue and mind bending visuals, creating a film that will stick with you for weeks after viewing.
A huge must watch for and fan of sci fi and Nolan himself.
Warning thought, the ending is the most frustrating ending to any film, EVER.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem (2023)
TMNT: The latest and arguably the best iteration of this long loved hero team is visually stunning and fast paced
The new TMNT movie kicks of a little slow but quickly picks up it's pace and is full of fast paced action through the rest of this highly entertaining movie. The Ninja Turtle team had amazing chemistry and the dynamic between the characters was both hilarious and heartfelt. I think that the mutants in the movie were a huge standout for me. Each one was unique and strange with great character designing. They served for a great few chuckles through the movie. They were also meticulously drawn as was the rest of the film. That was another standout of the movie. The art style was new and unique and gave a great vibe to the instalment. The rough edges and scribbly lines reminded me a little of Spider Man across the Spider verse.
Finally the voice acting. All the voicing was incredible and hilarious but the standout was definitely Superfly (the villain).
Over a fun and entertaining Popcorn movie with some stunning visuals and would be sure to get a chuckle out of everyone.
