Wonderful, beautiful expansion.

Warning: Spoilers
The Rising Tide is a wonderful expansion on the existing game that answers a question many have asked; 'What happened to Leviathan the Lost, and where is he?'. For a new explorable location, Mysidia does not overstay its' welcome and provides new challenges for players of higher levels. Once again I am left wanting more adventures in this brand new world Yoshi-P and his team created as there are still so many things that are left unanswered or unexplored. I also have to give props to introducing a new and enjoyable mechanic with Leviathan's arm gun, and rewarding players for acquiring them all with Ultima as a playable form. One final thing I very much enjoyed is that once again the soundtrack is as amazing as ever, and I absolutely LOVE that the song used in the reveal trailer for the game finally made it's way in with this dlc, I daresay it's another certified banger by Soken.

That was totally wicked!

Echoes of the Fallen is such an amazing addition to FFXVI.

The expanded story and lore behind the previous civilization is a something I wanted, my only disappointment in it is that the content was not longer enough to add more.

The new and revamped enemies are a brilliant breath of fresh air, and their fight mechanics are truly outstanding.

The new items allow for much more diverse attack setups, along with the finally added 4th limit break bar and expanded levels. I hope Rising Tide introduces more variety.

And finally; Omega. Oh. My. God. This boss fight makes up for everything in spades. It is hands down THE coolest boss fight I have ever faced in the game, and the song still plays in my head even now as I write this review. I could write all about how awesome this battle is, but I feel like this is something you have to witness for yourself in order to behold it's greatness. It really does not disappoint.

10/10. If you have the extra money and own FFXVI, BUY IT. You will NOT be disappointed.

Final Fantasy XVI (2023 Video Game)
10/10
The first time I have given a perfect score to a video game.
10 August 2023
Final Fantasy XVI is a perfect game. The story is well written and thought out, compelling, invokes emotion, and knows when to add humour that will not take away from the tone.

You are immeditately thrusted into the combat so you can feel the sense of what the game is all about from the word "go". All of the characters are either relatable, sympathetic, or hated in some way.

The dialogue is well written, and the voice acting carries the weight very well.

The combat is amazing, it is easy to pick up if you're a new player while also adding a challenge for those experienced in action games, and the eikon kaiju battles were nothing short of epic in different ways.

XVI leaves no loose ends except for the questions it did not answer. You can pet the dog.

The graphics and visuals are absolutely gorgeous, and even though we are not able to touch the water this game hands down has the best water physics out of any game I have seen.

XVI likes to throw cliches at you only to completely subvert your expectation because it knows that you know what should happen, for example; the final boss is well established and doesn't get outshone by a surprise villain irrelevent to the established plot.

And finally, even though there are some moments where visuals frame drop or the characters move like they're in Final Fantast XIV it is completely outshone to the point that it is only a very minor issue that can be made at best.

It's perfect. Everything, down to the last minute details. 10/10 the best game ever made.
