A tremendous show
24 October 2015
I have never been a fan of this type of show. I have seen a NCIS show once or twice. Loved the "Audrey Hepburn" bit. But when I caught this show in the middle of season two I was hooked.

James Spader is terrific. I had never seen his acting before. His speech to Lizzy at the end of this show was incredible in both its content and emotional effect. I must call out Eggold for his great acting in this series.

But, of course, the kudos go to the writers. The plots are sometimes ludicrous but they get us to buy into them. I am looking forward to the new season. I have them on my DVR. But I am finishing my review of last season.

A truly compelling movie

Warning: Spoilers
I remember seeing this movie when it first came out with some high school friends. We were blown away by the graphics, of, course and by the "message" of the ending which we discussed and wrote papers for our perplexed teachers. We of course had no idea what it meant, but tried anyway. I took my mother to see the movie several weeks later and she was duly impressed. There is no "science fiction" movie that can ever compare to this, past or present. I know that some people will complain that there is no human interest element, no love story, in this movie. This is a great movie. Watch it when you can. And. Tell IMDb that their 10 line rule is absurd. Or not.

Shaggy dog many years later, a remembrance
31 March 2014
I remember being taken to this movie when I was 8 or 9 years old. I was accompanied by my mother and my aunt. I remember being appalled at their reaction. They were nearly rolling in the aisles. I was unimpressed knowing that a child could not be turned into a dog and found the whole thing silly. I have not seen the movie since then. But I guess I might enjoy it these days for it's silliness. My mother and I did not see a movie again until I took her to see "2001" in 1968. She was impressed and correctly predicted, beforehand, there would be Howard Johnson's at the space station. Sorry for the unrelated memories that have nothing to do with this movie. But I cannot help but relate that 7 years later I took her to see "Blazing Saddles", fearful that she might be offended by some of the off color jokes. She laughed wholeheartedly at all the dirty jokes.

Rather disappointing
9 January 2014
I have often wondered, through the years, why no one had produced a bio of this talented man. Then I found this and ordered the DVD. I was not impressed at all. It was disjointed and painful to watch. I learned next to nothing about the man himself. His personal life is virtually non-existent. He seems to appear to be about 50 years old throughout the movie. It was more of a paean than a biography. I wish it had had a more chronological aspect. Did Julie Andrews appear for more than 15 seconds? What I found particularly confusing was the dates of composition versus the dates of performance. I hope someone in the near future comes up with a better effort.

A very good bad movie
7 August 2010
I agree with almost all the reviews I have read about this movie here om IMDb; those who gave it a 1 and those who gave it a 10. I just watched it on NetFlix and there were several times when I was about to abandon it. But I stayed until the end. It was self-indulgent and boring beyond belief at times. It seemed to have no recognizable time period except for the outdated phones. I thought Mr Stumpf and Mr. White gave credible performances. I would have liked to seen more air time for Ms. Balk as Logan's mother. Kim Dickens portrayal as the counselor was very good. But the movie was just too disjointed to truly be appreciated. But I still gave it a 7 anyway. A bit higher than I intended but I liked the courage that went into the making of this flick and I look forward, perhaps, to seeing other material from this director. Perhaps his new one, S**t Year.
